We were visiting family and they suggested this place, BBQ was great, waitress was funny. My nieces hubby met us there, coming straight from work as a policeman. We were all struggling out, taking our time. My hubby left the table first to stop by the restroom. When he got outside he said ton the way to the restroom, the older lady behind the counter told our waitress to "hurry up and get that cop out of here" Needless to say, obviously a cop hater and hope they didnt do anything to his food...you never can tell with disrespectful idiots....We wont go back and not wanting to hurt our nephews feelings, didnt pass it along to our family we were visiting.

Extremely long wait (1.5 hours). Sat and watched locals get their food before we did even though we were there an hour before they arrived. After waiting an hour, we were told they ran out of flour and couldnt have what we ordered. The server was obviously put out with everything that was going on and had short responses with us. When our food did arrive, it was extremely small portions.

We are from out of town and was looking for a hometown place to eat, no food chains. This place is perfect. The best onion rings (homemade) ive ever ate. The bbq was very good also. The fried okra is nothing you will get anyplace else. Homemade banana pudding takes like mine from scratch. I think we will drive 2.5 hours again to this place. Staff was friendly and courteous.

Bad. Gave the place a second chance and the experience was worse than the first time. Waited 15 minutes and no one seem to even notice I was there. A waitress came out to serve a drink to someone then started clearing dirty dishes off of a table. Waitresses about three behind counter on phone and talking. My husband and I just got up and walked out. Never will go back.

My daughters review...I got the barbecue plate and it was worth it!!!! The baked beans and okra were really good, though the okra was a little to greasy for me. Very nice service by Tonya! I was very satisfied with the barbeque and we got the small onion rings and was surprised at the amount (very good size!), definitely worth the price!

Ive spent a lifetime regretting orders of country fried steak. Theyre usually about as good as a deep fried boot sole. The country fried steak I just had at Hog Rock was hands down the best Ive had in my short time on earth. It was scratch made, cooked to tenderness buy still crispy. Heaven on a plate.

Southern fried chicken nuggets, homemade macaroni and cheese, hand breaded okra, and the best banana pudding are my favorites at Hog Rock. They offer a fantastic menu for lunch and youre in and out quickly. I love the service and notice that they dont have much turnover--must be a good place to work.

hog rock used to have really good smoked butt .got one to go today for my parents sad to say if I wanted a butt cooked in the oven and reheated I would have done it myself . meat had 2" of fat on it and was soo greasy almost could not eat it .baked potatoes were brown from setting all day

Great food, pleasant people, very reasonable prices. Meat and three work drink and tax is $9 and you cant go wrong. Lots of other choices if you want BBQ or fish or a big burger and fries. Open every day. My favorite place!

The onion rings are fantastic. The barbecue good and hot. The cheeseburger was disappointing. It tasted like it had been cooked awhile and kept warm. The waitress was adorable and very friendly and good at her job.

Most of their items are made from scratch and their onion rings are the best Ive ever had. The portions are large, especially for the relatively low prices, and the staff is friendly and courteous.

Solid BBQ sandwich. Lots of meat, very moist, extra sauce on the side, and pickles. Service and delivery was fast. Staff was friendly. Prices were very reasonable.

They have the BEST onion rings Ive ever eaten. The Service is usually really good too, but the last time I was there, the waitress was rude. Prices are fair.

BBQ is good but all sides are low-grade and just plain bad. There are too many great BBQ restaurants around to waste time here.
