Against our better judgment we tried it after reading the reviews... well just have to say order the sweet tea and fries... nothing else just sweet tea and fries. This is not a BBQ joint, no smoked flavor what so ever. Only flavor I could catch a hint of was what I would imagine cat food would taste like. If this is what a Famous Dobbs BBQ taste like man Id hate to see what the not so famous produces. Staff was nice but definitely no enthusiasm behind their plates.... not a very clean establishment, poor food at best but pretty good sweet tea so if your thirsty get one to go while driving around to find somewhere to eat.

The food was bland. The service was decent. The sweet tea was good though. The cleanliness is the absolute worst. It looks bad in the dining area, but the bathrooms, oh the bathrooms. I can only speak to the mensroom, but it looked like something from a movie that had been made up by the prop dept to look disgusting, old, and completely ignored by the cleaning crew for decades. The worst part was the rag. In the stall, there is a hook on the wall, with a rag hanging from it. That rag had a nice mix of yellow and brown stains on it. I can only imagine what it was there for. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Dobbs has been around forever and you can clearly tell when you walk inside. Its an old restaurant and shows its age, just not in the best way. Its nice to see locals everytime I have been who have been visiting for years and the service is friendly. To me the food is ok, not bad but nothing to go on about. I am not a fan of how dirty the place is though, bathrooms are horrible and the ceiling tiles are probably older than me. I hate seeing places that arent taken care of and it makes me wonder if they dont care about those things then hows the food or kitchen.

I would not recommend this bar b q to my worst enemy! The meat was dry and the sauce was flavorless. Our order was orignially to-go but we decided to stay so they charged us a dollar per person to sit in their hole of a restaurant. The rent on the place probably isnt even that much. The atmosphere was worst than a bad diner and the signs were about to fall down. You are better off going to the grocery store and buying some chicken and some bar b q sauce and save your money.....and I had to at least give it 1 star because it wouldnt let me give it none.

Dobbs has been a family tradition for almost 40yrs. We always stop in on our way to the beaches in FL, but NO LONGER! We are all tired of the NASTY bathrooms and the same plates being used that we ate off of in the 1980s. Only poor management could have kept that place from making money over the past 4 decades. A remodel of at least the bathrooms would have been nice. The food is good, just to bad we can no longer stomach the atmosphere. Makes me wonder how dirty the kitchen is.....

Incredibly tasteful food with great prices and great service. Order the beans side dish and smother it with their bbq sauce and you wont be able to leave a single bean behind! The fries were pretty dang perfect too! Mr. Dobbs him self came to our table to show his creation, the wooden stick with the two little propellers. We should have made a video of it as it was truly entertaining and amazing. A definite stop on the way to and back from Florida beaches!

Originally from Texas but Ive I am an Atlanta native Ive lived in Atlanta for 10 years. I own a Big Green Egg and smoke 2-3 times a month. ribs, butts, chicken any thing I can get my hands on! This is by far the worst BBQ Ive ever had. The beef was gray, pork tasted what I imagine cat food taste like. Im pretty sure it was days old. It seams like they dont even try. You could make better BBQ in a crock pot. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Ive been driving by this place for 56 years so I decided to try it........ overpriced, small portions, pitiful food. The worst restaurant meal in my life. If it wasnt for south bound Florida traffic this place couldnt survive. If south bound Florida travelers want good BBQ stop at any barbecue joint in the Columbus, GA/Phenix City, AL area, theyre all four stars above Dobbs , Yes, the first visit was the last visit.

The service was OK but the food was awful. My family and I got a little bit of everything, chicken, pork, beef. All the meats tasted like they were reheated from the refrigerator. The best part of our lunch was the store bought roll and the baked beans. I am truly disappointed after hearing all the talk of how good it used to be and how long they have been in business. I expected better.

The food (if you can call it that) tasted like cat food. The bathrooms were horrific. Me and my grandparents got a hamburger, onion rings, and 2 BBQ sandwiches and it was $27.72! The hamburger tasted like cardboard and the onion rings tasted like batter the BBQ sandwiches tasted like sponge. The best part was the the staff and they werent even that great also they charge for water.

the place is dirty and the bbq ribs were just awful, in fact they were the worst thing that ive ever eaten... people should stop posting false reviews and be honest, a starving person would pass on eating this hog slop thats being served. they should never be allowed to open their doors to the general public again..... can you say HEALTH INSPECTOR please!!!!!!!!!!!

Traveling through, we stopped by and I have to say, the food was amazing! The staff was kind, helpful, and wonderful. The entertainment was unique and fun! The houy souy stick was a sight to behold. I cannot brag about this place enough. The homemade hot sauce was beyond compare. The price wa amazing! This is a must stopping place for lunch!

Horrible bbq. I paid 30 bucks for a half pound of beef, ribs, turkey, and pork. They were dry. There was only 4 ribs. The sauce taste just like a brand i get from the store. The beef doesnt taste like pit. It tastes boiled same for the pork. Pork was about half fat. The turkey had alot of dark meat in it. I wont go back there ever again

Our family ate at Dobbs on the way home from our family vacation at Panama City Beach. This was some of the best BBQ we had ever eaten!! The service was great and we got to be entertained from Mr. Dobbs while we waited on our food. We will definitely eat there again on our next trip and highly recommend to others!!

BBQ really? Liquid smoke engorged with yucky bbq sauce. It was the worst bbq I think I ever had. The salad had old lettuce. Yuck. Never will go back. Open 100 years? Doing what changing oil?!? Worse 50$ I ever spent. I was taught to tell the truth. Not sorry for telling it. And it was packed. What? Confused.

The worst. I wish I had listened to my instincts and to the negative reviews. I ordered the combination plate. Ribs, pork, and beef. I cant even explain how bad it was. One of the reviews mentioned cat food. That is what it can be compared to. Do not waste time and money on this food.
