I used to love this place. Then I had them deliver to me, it took over an hour to get to me (even though I live around the corner from the restaurant) and they failed to bring me low sodium soy sauce (even though I specifically asked for some). Then the delivery guy gave me a hard time for wanting to eat the food he brought (since I was starving at that point) without signing the credit card receipt until he brought me the correct sauce. Sad, cause I really liked the food. Will never eat there again though, hence the three stars.

Horrible service. I took my family there while on vacation a month ago. It was a terrible experience. I have been a customer there for almost 10 years. I discovered it first while leaving in Long Island but was working in the city. It seems to be that they only care about your money.........Manager and waitstaff seems to not haveenough knowledge of the price and cost of food. Both my husband and I are chefs.Couldnt imagine being charge $3.00 for a refill of soda. Very disgusted on customer service. Great food ho.

I Came here last night, there IS a great Sake selection. I always get a Salmon skin roll. A bigger carrot would have made it better. They had some great looking specials, one which we ordered, the duck breast. It was good. My boyfriend judges places based on the mackerel. He said it was ice cold, and should be room temperature. Meh. Overall, I still give 5 stars.

This is the first time Ive ever felt the need to write a review. This place was awful.. the food was nasty, the sushi rolls and sashimi was fishy and rubbery and it took about 45 mins to place and order and get the check .. but the food took five minutes lol this place sucks..the sake menu was on point though

I have frequented Totoya Sushi for Happy Hour. Now when I say Happy Hour I am not referring to the bar. Nope! Happy hour at Totoya is about $3 plates. Excellent food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Come to Totoya for great service at a "more than affordable" price and leave full and smiling.

When my friend and I want to grab a quick sushi bite, we meet up in the upper east side at Totoya. We usually order special rolls such as Crunchy Spicy Spider or Spicy Dragon. The place is comfortable enough where me and my friend can have a quiet dinner and catch up on life.

This is sushi for beginners, meaning you can eat food that is easy to swallow and digest without feeling grossed. Their wide selection of sushi with tropical flavors is amazing, and delicious. Wrap it up with the perfect dessert: Mochies!

My wife and I go here all the time -- its our local favorite place. The service is always friendly, the food always solid, place is always clean and prices incredibly affordable. I highly recommend this place!

Sushi rolls are tasteless and rubbery, not sure how fresh the fish is in there... and you cant justify eating rolls when you doubt their freshness

Nice atmosphere, good service and good food. The hot towels at the beginning are a nice touch. Will definitely be returning.
