I in quite frequently & usually get the #1 the USS Midway. The sandwich is delicious I order it with whole wheat bread and to be heated with everything on it this is my favorite way of having the sandwich. Not only are their prices on par all their ingredients are very fresh and are very good. One of my favorite things about this establishment is the customer service seems right on point. There has been a couple of times where the sandwich wasnt made exactly how I requested it to be they were more than happy to redo the sandwiches. Also they do have cookouts to where you can order tri-tips and whole meals for a generally Fair cost right off the barbecue. I believe once a week they also have poke thats very fresh. First of all the place itself is terribly layed out. Its hidden in the corner behind gates, a true hole in the wall. Theres also no room if you come at meal times, everyone crowds the counter around waiting for their order to be served. Their subs are a tad expensive. On top of all that after I had a sub there I got food poisoning a couple hours later. Brown bag had been the only thing I ate that day and the next I was puking my guts out and had diarrhea up the wazoo for the next 48 hours, didnt fully recover for 5 days. Brown Bag gets one star for their food not tasting terrible and -4 stars for being a run-down shack that doesnt care enough to remodel their place to make it useable and for obviously not checking their food to make sure it doesnt have Salmonella!

The old reviews need to be discarded. The place is under new ownership by local Chef Billy BUTTERS Joyce, and they have revised the menu, and he brings forth his culinary skills and an awesome team to make stellar sandwiches and more. They cook and slice their roast beef, and thats only the beginning...Its a fresh hand made kitchen. My Mom would be proud. Billys dad sure is. I bring my friends here and rave about this place. I am a very discriminating foody, and this place gets top grade in my book. The portions are huge and the price is right. I will be going there today. See ya there!

Im not sure what is so great about the bread. But overall, the sandwiches are very similar to what I remember from my middle school cafeteria. If you have nostalgia for that kind of thing, youll like this place. The prices are pretty good, but the quality of the meats, cheese, and other fixings is so-so. Nowhere to park, nowhere to sit and eat, this place is inconvenient. For a dollar or two more, I would rather eat at Subway.

Tasty sandwiches, cool chill environment, and amazing staff. The food tastes so fresh and doesnt leave me feeling over stuffed. I keep half the sandwich to enjoy it again later hehe. Use navigation to find it because you might zoom past it. Theres only like 5 parking spaces in front of it, but you can park on the adjacent streets.

Sandwiches are good and plenty to choose from... when they are open. Ive been there twice in the last 3 weeks and they have been closed during hours in which they claim to be open. Very disappointing because Ive been craving a sub there.

Our whole family loves this place. They have the best sandwiches in San Diego. The bread is fresh everyday. When we meet my husband for lunch, this is the first place out of everybodys mouth. The Brown Bag! They do an awesome job.

First time and positive experience! My pulled pork BBQ sandwich was large and full of meat. I Definitely had to take the other half home for later. The potato salad was tasty, too. Worth a look if you are in the Point Loma area.
