The Wisemen say "Quality over Quantity." At T Deli you get BOTH! The sandwiches are enormous, packed and filled generously with chicken. The sides are divine. And the service is sweet and courteous. Accordingly, T Deli should be on every sandwich counessiours "To-Go List". The Pesto Chicken Torta is the specialty of this inexpensive sandwich and tea restaurant turning out fresh teas, hearty soups, and creative sandwich combinations and sides. The ambiance is low-key with order-at-the-counter service, and though there can be a long line that forms during busy hours, the fantastic and courteous staff is efficient in getting you your order and recommending you the crowd favorites. I had the Chicken Pesto sandwich (see the photo I posted) with a side of their incredible and to-die-for "Black Bean Soup with jalapeños!", which complements the sandwich perfectly and comes with toasted garlic butter bread to dip into the soup. My girlfriend had a Chicken Pesto Panini with a famous, fresh and flavorful "Sesame Coleslaw." The owner/operator gave us their house teas out of courtesty. Im not a huge tea fan, so to me it wasnt anything special or amazing. But I appreciate the gesture of generosity and applaud him for his customer service.

The reviews were on point about this place, loved the food loved the location and loved the guys running it. As soon as I walked in the guy up front asked me if I wanted to try the soups of the day. Both were delicious, Tomato Basil & Sopa de fideo with chicken. He started telling us about all their different tea, They had a huge tea selection and poured us a couple to try that hit the spot. I never even knew this place was here, I must have driven by it hundred of times. The Chicken Pesto & BLT we got were two of the best sandwiches iv had in quite some time, Not to mention their smoothies..... I tried the Watermelon Strawberry one, ridiculously good. It just tasted natural not like Jamba Juice that adds a bunch sugar n stuff it was just fresh fruit. I cant say enough good things about this place, its one of those spots that takes pride in the quality of their food and are genuinely grateful to have your business. Definitely cracked my list of best lunch spots.

Best sandwich in town- theres absolutely no competition here. I cant say anything that hasnt already been said. Its an absolute must stop shop if youre in the Hillcrest area and looking for a healthy, quick lunch fix. High quality ingredients at a reasonable price, and always consistent excellent service. The sandwiches are the obvious winners here. If you like spicy, they add jalapenos, which I personally think is where the magic happens. Always made to order- all the ingredients are so fresh and the portions are fairly large. I can usually only eat half of one. Roast beef is excellent, and sos the turkey. I love both the sides of fruit and asian slaw. Cant go wrong with either! Of course, theres refills on the tea. Ive never been a huge fan of the tea but its a nice option with unlimited. This place is perfect to sit on the patio and enjoy watching the madness of University Ave.

Yet again another place I really wanted to love!!! But, sad enough again it was just OK. We bought a Groupon to test this place out. I find its a great way to find out if you want to come back to a certain place after trying on a discount and it prompts me to branch out and try new places in general. I am always slightly disappointed with Hillcrest reviews. I find maybe my palate is a little different but, all the highly rated spots in that neighborhood always let me down!! This place was good, not a horrible sandwich but, not worth the price my mind. I paid an extra 3$ for a Chicken torta and it was so so. I enjoyed it but, nothing I will rush back for. They were very nice and very attentive and we were also able to try a smoothie, tea and fruit salad on the Groupon. We left full but, overall not our top sandwich spot by far.

Excellent sandwich spot, with a staff thats enthusiastic about what theyre doing. Based on the reviews, we decided to check T Deli out. Im not a big "sandwich fan," but if youre on top 100 lists for restaurants, its worth a visit! We were the only customers here during our visit. It seemed weird that with as high of reviews there wasnt more of a line, but Ill take it! We were greeted warmly, and offered samples of soup and tea for no charge. The employee that helped us appeared to be overly passionate about their offerings, and wanted us to try everything. PROPS: Sandwich portions were large, price was fair, and customer service was excellent. SLOPS: With their current hours, I can only grab a sandwich from T Deli on Fridays or Saturdays.

Simply amazing. Visiting Cali all the way from Miami, and this is by far my favorite spot. Had their green smoothie and veggie sandwich and my friend had the BLT. WOW. Everything was DELICIOUS. The owners hospitality etiquette was on point and his genuine personality just made our overall experience that much better. Highly Recommend! Will be back every single time I visit!

Great food, love the chicken pesto torta and love the different kinds of tea options! I definitely recommend going here at least once to give them a try, a choice one wouldnt regret. All the tea is made there with actual tea leaves and such. The cheesecake will more than satisfy your sweet tooth. I try to go here every chance I get, if anything, at least for the tea.

I always enjoy T Deli. I have always had the tuna salad sandwich. It has just enough mayonnaise to make it moist but not heavy. Yesterday I had the turkey sandwich. Just as good. Always FRESH ingredients. Fresh slaw, fruit salad, homemade soup. Just look at the pictures on Google. Its as good as it looks! Fresh, fresh, FRESH ingredients

One of the few lunch places I really crave! Their pesto chicken panini sandwich and asian slaw is great. They have a rotating selection of teas available (usually at least 2 to pick from for a lunch combo). Casual seating area inside and a patio outside. Prices are on the higher side of moderate but portions are shareable. Cash only.

This place rocks. We regularly make the drive from El Cajon just to eat here. Even a side item like fruit is a big deal and beautifully presented. They take pride in what they offer. Plus the tea selection is amazing. Try a new type of tea, there are plenty of choices. If you dont like it, they will happily give you another.

Affordable sit down: The food quality and pricing are phenominal and the staff are always pleasant. They get a lot of call in / order out business so the actual restaurant tends to uncluttered (which I love). The aesthetic is not as amazing as other Hillcrest area restaurants but the rest more than makes up for it.

I love this little deli. They make beautiful salads and have an excellent slaw. Their side of fruit is always a large portion and delicious. Sandwiches are good and they have a fun tea selection. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

Best sandwiches Ive ever had, bar-none, no hyperbole. Especially the roast beef. The gentlemen running the place are artisans. Very highly recommended if you like good, simple food with layered, nuanced flavor.
