Seeing all these good reviews, along with knowing the poor reputation chinese restaurants have here in Laramie, I decided to give this place a try. I had high hopes for the food, but was really disappointed. The sweet & sour chicken was cold and tasteless, no matter how much sauce you put on the chicken... tasteless! The crab rangoons looked like they would be great, the wonton puff was good sized, however thats all it really is, a wonton puff. Theres barely half a teaspoon of cream cheese and I doubt any crab in each wonton, which tasted sour... The deep fried dumplings, yuck. Taking a single bite gave me the idea of what it would be like to eat gopher guts! Teryaki chicken and lo mein noodles, it was pretty good. Not the best stuff, but it actually had a taste unlike the sweet and sour chicken. Egg drop soup... now this was worth it. It was hot, tasted great! It doesnt have any veggies or noodles in it, just egg flour. But I absolutely loved this stuff! Overall, the food wasnt good. They had a poor selection of desserts too, the only thing worth while was the chocolate pudding and jello. If I ever come here again, it will only be for the egg drop soup. Which is NOT worth the $12 per person to dine there.

OH. MY. GODS. I honestly do not know how I didnt know that No. 1 Buffet does delivery up until tonight, but now that I do, you better believe that I wont be wasting any more money on New Mandarin for my Chinese food cravings from here on out. I already love No. 1 Buffets in-house experience, mind you. Their food is DELICIOUS and the staff are amazing and sweet. Tonight my roommate and I were craving Egg Drop Soup like you wouldnt believe. Saw (as earlier mentioned) that No. 1 delivers (SQUEE!!), and ordered 2 things of that, the Chicken w/garlic sauce for my boys, Egg Foo Young for my roommate, & Fried Cheese Wontons for me. Did I mention the "OH. MY. GODS." yet? The Egg Drop Soup fulfilled that craving PERFECTLY!! (New Mandarins idea of Egg Drop Soup is to add tomatoes and cucumbers to it >.< Ew), my roommate was ECSTATIC with the Egg Foo Young, my boys absolutely RAVED about the Chicken w/Garlic Sauce, and my Fried Cheese Wontons are the best Ive gotten to have in YEARS!!! Seriously, Im sitting here completely stuffed with the happiest tummy Ive had from Chinese food in a long time! Thank you so much to the wonderful people at No. 1 Buffet!! You guys made our night with your delicious food! <3

By far, the best dine in, Chinese restaurant in Laramie. Now dont go getting excited, because its still not anything to get your panties in a twist over. All Im saying, is that its the least awful of the Laramie, Chinese-food experience. There are no great Chinese places in Laramie. I know, Ive tried them all. Now, delivery is a hastle if you get the woman taking your order, considering she writes "Ivinson" as "ivson", and you have to repeat your address roughly 5-10 times before you both give up and pray the food shows up, which it usually does. The guy who works there, through some miracle of another, seems to always find his way. Price is reasonable for the amount of food you get, not for the quality. And their cheese wontons arent bad either.

Unsure how this place could have ANY good reviews. Went in on a Saturday night, and yet the food still seemed like it had been out for days. There was a tiny selection of food, and what they had was disgusting. The egg drop soup had a dried egg tumor on the side of the tureen, the shrimp in the shrimp tempura roll had a leathery, beef jerky texture (I was unaware shrimp could reach this texture) and proved impossible to tear apart, the lo mein noodles were soggy and tasted like toenails, the potstickers were dried and crunchy... I couldnt eat anything. They didnt have the price advertised anywhere, and ended up being charged an outrageous amount for what we got.

My boyfriend and I got sesame chicken and beef lo mein. The sesame chicken was good but we got the combo platter thinking it would have an egg roll or wontons but for the extra two dollars we just got a side of rice. The beef lo mein was pretty horrible. The beef tasted (and looked) like rehydrated beef jerky, minus the delicious spices. Plain, tough, gross. If we order again, we will stick with the sesame chicken and save our two dollars by not getting the rice. Sorry No. 1 Buffet, I dont like giving bad reviews to local restaurants but something needs to change.

Truthfully, this place deserves no stars what so ever. Roommate and I ordered pickup from them for our weekly game night, it was the biggest waste of 20 dollars ever. The fried rice wasnt fried and had nothing but onion in it, and both the chicken in the fried rice my roommate got looked like it had been boiled and the beef and brocolli I got was nasty. The beef was nothing but stringy fat and neither dish had any flavor. It wasnt even worthy of being fed to the dog. We threw it out after a few bites and ordered pizza. Dont waste your money on this place.

Hong Kong Buffet has now gotten new management! The couple that is now managing it is a very nice couple, and did a really good job of cleaning up the place. The food is really good, and this is my favorite place in Laramie for Chinese food. There are about 30 choices of food, such as chickens, crab wantons, and noodles. They have the best crab wantons and the best egg drop soup. I know that Hong Kong Buffet has a bad reputation, but it seems like they are really working to turn it around. Defiantly worth stopping in!

The fact that this establishment is still in business is beyond absurd. Aside from the fact that there were no prices advertised or menu to look at, the food had been sitting out for many hours when I arrived with a group of friends. The service was lacking and the restaurant itself seemed grungy and unclean. After having eaten a plate of undesirable, undercooked, and overpriced food, I spent the next three days with food poisoning. I would advise eating elsewhere. This particular restaurant is disgusting.

The eat-in experience is fantastic for an American pallet Chinese restaurant. I love the buffet here, definitely the best in town! I love the convenience of the online order for delivery, but I wish they had some more options! Especially on the appetizers/desserts end. Id love to see the teriyaki chicken on a stick and the fried donuts for delivery! If there was a bit more variety, then the minimum $15 for delivery would be acceptable and I could give 5 stars easily!

We went for lunch yesterday and everything except the soup was cold. The food looked fresh and everything was clean but the food from the buffet was cold to the touch. We took 2 bites and left. When I told the staff as we paid for our gross meal, they offered no apology and we still paid full price for the 2 bites we ate. We immediately left to go to Anongs so that we could have an edible meal. We will not be returning.

The food was appalling. While there was a variety, the quality was very poor. The crab legs were undercooked. The pot stickers were passable. The sushi was poorly displayed and not very appetizing. There were no prices posted anywhere, which was extremely annoying. The price for the food we received was ridiculous. A very unsatisfying meal that I could not keep down. I will never eat here again.
