I love buffets. But not this one. Its expensive. Its limited. Its crowded. And the food is subpar. A group of friends and I decided on this place after another friend gave it a thumbs up. Ok, I thought. I love buffets. First thing I noticed, more than five people standing in the front smoking. Like you have to shuffle past them to get in. What if I had my grandbaby with me? Second, some woman was asking everyone to wash their car windows in exchange for diapers. So we go inside to a very crowded small one man register. I paid for two friends and myself. Plus three drinks? $42.00 So let me get this straight. This is a buffet but without self serving access to a beverage bar? And I had to pay for it? Why am I here and not at old country buffet? So we are seated. Not a bad atmosphere except for the large crowd. I went and collected my food. I got fried chicken and a side salad and bread roll to go with my iced tea. All crap, even the tea. Worst chicken Ive every had. And its hard for me to not finish fried chicken down to the bone. Bland. Not that crispy. A little dry. Smelled funny. Bread was stale. Salad wasnt that fresh although it wasnt too bad. And tea was brisk which isnt tea. In order to get refills I had to wait for waitress to come and do it for me because Im a baby who cant get his own drink? I didnt even try the dessert. Overall not impressed. But I guess the dishes were clean and they had catfish off the grill. I didnt try it but it did smell good. If I were in a buffet mood, old country and home town are better selections. Also they are cheaper.

it was as good as any golden corral Ive been to. in my daughters words "I didnt know this place was so AWESOME!" my kids loved it to say the least but I think they would love anywhere that had as much junk food as them, and they were in heaven when they finally got they hands on they cotton candy. And for once in my life I didnt have to force them to eat real food before the junk food since they got to pick out what they wanted. The food was good. My only complaint was two things: 1. my steak was burnt but once I cut off the burnt areas it was actually really good and 2. the bathrooms smelled like those big Asian Markets (you know that raw fish smell) I dont mind it at the market but I did mind it there. It was pretty busy so the waiters did the best they could. Im the type that feels bad about asking someone so busy for help so I asked for my own refills at the front. Only reason I didnt give a 5 star is because of the bathrooms, other than that this is a good place to go. Especially for a family and of course you gotta not mind spending a bit. It was 2 adults and 2 kids (i also had my baby but since she under 3 she got in free) and I paid just under 40 bucks since my hubby only got water they didnt charge us for his drink. This is another complaint of mine tho at 11.29 per adult and 4.99 per kid (dinner prices) I hate that you have to get charged an extra 2 bucks and some change for a drink.

As a person with a limited diet (grain-free vegetarian), I expected to find a lot of options that would work for me at a buffet-style restaurant. I was pretty disappointed in the selection...I was pretty much limited to the salad bar because the cooked vegetables were all cooked in pork. Turnip greens: cooked with pork. Spinach: cooked with pork. Green beans: cooked with pork. Kidney beans: cooked with pork. Really? You have to put pork in all your cooked vegetables? Because my diet is so limited, I rely pretty heavily on restaurant employees to be able to tell me if a certain ingredient is used so I will know if I can eat a particular food. If they dont know, they should be able to find out. I dont like having to ask multiple people to find out if there is an ingredient that could make me sick (as flour would do) in any particular dish. This place is not for me.

What to say, what to say... this was a fairly average Golden Corral experience but something that I cant quite put my finger on seemed "off". We like Golden Corral and have been to several across the country, but for some reason this visit just didnt seem "up" in any way. The food was reasonably fresh by GC standards. The service was flat, minimally attentive, and mechanical - perhaps attributing to the overall feel of the place. The "premium" butterfly shrimp was definitely the best of the shrimp feature. As usual, the steak was very good but getting it at your cooking preference could be a challenge unlike at other locations. Again, a service thing.

Went there not expecting much, but was surprised that the steak, prime rib and brisket were all good. The mentioned all had good seasoing and made to order per your request. Unlike other buffet places that only fill you up with carbs, GC had a lot of other protein options too; fish, shrimp and chicken. Grilled, baked and fried. The place was packed with tables having a fast turnover around us, the service was good they came around just as you needed refills or removal of used plates. For a GC the steaks were better than some steak houses Ive been to. So...for a good price and free people watching entertainment, what else do you need for a Saturday night.

My kids ate more than they may ever have lol. Which is delightful considering its a battle to get them to eat dinner on a daily basis. No battle here! However if you have kids (or even for yourself) I recommend sitting on the left side by the salad bar and not the right side by all the dessert! Obvious reasons! They had a chocolate fountain with strawberries, rice crispies, and marshmallows to use with it....also cotton candy. All different kinds of food and salad. The steak was good per my husband and daughter. And of course everything all you can eat.

Ive taken my family to GC at least once a month. And on Sunday, May 22nd, we waited in line and when we got to the register, I was ready to pay for 10 family and friends of which 8 were with me and 2 were parking. They wouldnt let me pay or be seated until they arrived. While they were explaining this to us, the 2 walked around the line and came in throught the exit. We were then told they had to go through the line. Needless to say we left and I dont think I will be returning. They passed on $130 + tips because of their assinine policy.

We used to go here a few times a year and always loved it. Have been away for quite some time but tried it again last week. In our absence it went from 5 stars to 4 stars and its partially because of small things... for example they used to bring rolls to your table as soon as you sit down. I dont remember the plates being in such an odd spot in the past; they are near the entrance instead of in piles by each row of hot food. But these negatives are minor and if it wasnt for the prices going up I would still give it five stars.
