2 stars is solely because my food will most likely be delicious. I just got done working a 10 hour day and decided spending my hard earned money at belair cantina on downer avenue was well deserved. The hostess was incredibly rude as I placed my to go order with her. And in thhe middle of talking to me screeched because a friend she hasnt seen in a while (I picked up from them talking she just got back from an extended vacation). I was fine with that because I get it, shes a good friend and you got excited.. werent expecting to see her. I mean, thats a totally acceptable response. What I found to be ridiculous is she was initially rude to me and then to top it off she continued to talk to her friend for at least 10 minutes before attempting to put in my order which took her 5 minutes because she was continuing to chit chat with her friend. I just cannot believe she disregarded a costumer like that. Im sitting right in front of her and she knows I can see her. I dont know how shes in the service industry if this is how she treats her costumers. Ive been a host, a server, a cashier, all of the above and I wouldve never though to treat someone like this. Its not the fact that she was chit chatting or neglecting to finish my order.. it was that she did it right in front of my face as I was 5 feet away from her. Theres not much room for accidents like that when your costumers are within a 5 foot radius. Ive always had awful service here hence why I never eat in but now Im getting it with take out and Im just.. amazed at these people they have working for them. I wouldnt have hired half of their team.

Started out with the guacamole which was awesome, salsas were tasty as well. My wife has a gluten allergy, celiac, and although there was a gluten free menu I doubt the young waitress even knows what gluten is. The waitress was nice but most of the staff was more into the football game and sampling beers than working. Waitress kept asking me if I wanted refills on my Coke which she filled with ice to the top, YES... Carne asada taco was bland and super greasy, not one Id have again. Spicy polo taco was ok but the chicken was dry even with all the liquid that poured out of the taco with each bite. Luckily my last taco the spicy ninja was excellent. If I went back Id stick to two of those and the guacamole. Rice and beans was tasty but could have used another scoop of rice. Presentation and ambiance was good. Id go back if in the neighborhood but wouldnt seek this place out. Also super random they wouldnt serve nachos or burritos because it was brunch. They werent even 25% full, make an exception when you can to make customers happy.

Visited with a group of nine adults on a Sunday for dinner and the experience was mediocre. Each of us ordered a two or three taco combination and the delivery of the food took a pretty long time. When the tacos were delivered, some in the party noted that the tacos were not warm any longer. Its great that the restaurant does a community benefit taco (proceeds currently go to the Urban Ecology Center), and those two tacos were decent. My favorite taco was the spicy pollo. Im not sure Ill feel the urge to visit again, especially after spending about $12 on the three tacos (plus a portion of rice and beans)---seems a bit spendy for a rather modestly-sized taco.

The food was great. They give you complimentary chips with three different types of salsa. None of them are like your typical red salsa. All are good. I was pleasantly surprised at how mild they were, many places serve salsa that is too hot for my taste. It was a bit loud. There were unique dishes. On taco Tuesdays its $2 per taco (for select tacos) which is a great deal. My husband and I split 3 tacos and were both stuffed. There was a wait but they text you when the table is ready so you can wander a bit while you wait. Overall it was an awesome experience.

I have been here many times, but this is my first review! My in-laws live right on Lake drive, down the street from Belair. Their tacos are wild, everything from basic carnitas, barbacoa, and cochinita pibil to the Ninja Pig, Surfer, Lucky Taco #11, and the Tilapia tacos. All fantastic! The service is always good, quick food, quick drinks, but all very high quality! my daughter loves this place and she is kind of picky at 5 years old. I have been here 10+ times and will continue coming!

TACO TUESDAY! $2 for the tacos indicated on the menu. Order 3 and you get rice and beans on the side. The tacos were good, although the carne asada taco meat was a bit dry. Overall they were good. Great black beans. The drinks are a bit pricey. The two (3 taco each) dinners were $12, but with 4 regular margaritas, the total bill was $49, so about $8+ a drink. It is the trendy east side however. Service is great and the chips and salsa are tasty too!

The $2 Tuesdays and Thursdays have me coming here really often. Even on every other day of the week, the prices arent much more. During the day, business people, young professionals and a few college students can be found here. When it gets later, more college kids are around and the music gets a little louder. Family friendly and a great atmosphere. Only one or two TVs, which is really refreshing.

Sometimes I get a craving for Bel-Air that just cant be ignored and this location is our go to because its slightly closer than the one on Water St and it tends to be a tad less busy. It is consistently good. But please clean the menus, they are sticky and gross! Also, I was turned away from the patio with my small dog once, but I often see dogs here so not sure what their policy is.

Friendly service. Very good with my little one year old even though it didnt quite feel to kid friendly. They had paper and crayons. Also very sweet to the little one. Anything to keep him calm and happy they did. Even got his food out in min. So we didnt have to worry about a hungry kid. Very nice in the end. If you have kids dont be scared to Take them here.

BelAir Cantina is Milwaukees modern, popular Mexican restaurant. I usually order the Vegetarian Cantina nachos or the Baja Tilapia tacos. Both are awesome! Tuesdays and Thursdays nights can be absolute madness with the $2 tacos deal so either pick a different night of the week to visit or be willing to test your patience.

Great salsa before the meal! I love the three choices, instead of the usual one red that every other Mexican restaurant serves. As far as the entrees, Im not that much of a fan. The menu is too limited and what is on the menu isnt that flavorful. Taco Tuesdays is awesome, though!! The mushroom tacos are to die for!!!!

Part of going to a restaurant is understanding what the server has control over and tipping them based on how good they did. Our server, Sam, did an excellent job on keeping us updated with any delays and letting us know that he knew we were there. My significant other and I were very happy with our experience today.
