Wow! I love this restaurant. I came here after seeing this restaurant wasnt at the Dane county fair this year. I come from northern Wisconsin and came here with the rest of my family. I saw them the first time at the dane county fair a few years back. Food: This restaurant has a huge menu selection and a huge buffet menu selection. Taj has a huge selection of Vegan, Vegetarian, and Non-Vegetarian foods. Taj also offers to help you if your have allergies. For example if you cant have dairy they will make you the item your ordered without dairy. Customer Service: I have read a lot of review before posting mine but i have noticed that only Indians have issues with other indian restaurants. I dont understand why but I have several indian friends that come here and dont have a single issue. The waiters help you choose food here if its your first time eating indian food also. I had several allergies to food products and this place helps. The waiters are really good people and provide great customer service. Overall: Great place to eat whether its the buffet or if your dinning in. I do know that this year once again they are going to be at the taste of madison and will make sure to visit. One thing i have noticed is Wisconsin has alot of indian restaurants but mostly in North East Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and Madison. There is none from where im from. Considering this restaurant has been open for over 14 Years which makes it the oldest which is pretty awesome

I love their food. They always impress and give great service and food quality. I love their Chicken Tikka Masala, as well as their Kofta, which are veggie meatballs in a really creamy rich buttery sauces. Saturdays they also serve goat on their buffet table, which is always fatty and tender. Their Naan is also fresh. Another thing I like is their integrity as a restaurant. that they are not there to just get the quick dollar, but to maintain a long lasting relationship with their customers and to think about the longterm. They do not reuse their unused Naan bread like some other Inidan buffet restaurants. If there is in issue or if they did not properly prepare something, they will fix it in a beat. For example, one time I actually had an issue with their saag paneer w cottage cheese. It tasted really sour, and so I let the mgr know. She immediately tasted it herself and talked with her cooks, and then put it off the buffet table and made a fresh batch. Apparently, they had put too much lemon juice. I give them a lot of respect for doing the better thing, since its easy for a customer to complain and have the mgr or workers just ignore what you said, like we dont know what were talking about. They have shown integrity, great service, and consistently great amazing tasting food. They have my utmost respect. A customer for life.

We absolutely love this restaurant. Yes, some of the decor is a little old, and bits missing off some chandeliers etc, and I dont like the way the toilets are a long distance from the main eating area and shared with other businesses ( go before you leave home ), but the staff are really friendly, theyre attentive with regard to keeping water topped up, and the food - wow. I particularly like the Beef Shahi Korma, but its all good. The lunchtime buffet is also pretty varied considering how small of an area it takes up, and my kids love the desserts. Be aware that in common with a lot of Indian restaurants in the US the food isnt as spicy as in other countries by default. If you ask for a hot curry here then by default itll be about a medium in the UK, and probably a mild in India, but thats just catering to local tastes. If you asked them for something really hot tasting theyd make it. The chef takes a real pride in his food. Ive never had a bad meal there yet. The portions are also good. I do think they might struggle a bit to keep up when large groups are in, we suffered a little with delays one time when we walked in at the back end of someones party, but thats the only time theres ever been a problem for us. Ive been going there for over 10 years now, and will continue to do so.

NOT A GOOD FOOD and WORST SERVICE....Pardon my saying, I should not use the word "Worst" for food and that is the reason I use the work "NOT A GOOD FOOD". It will be total waste of money as well as time. Waiter is good in taking order in English but the server is totally speaking in punjabi.... It might be a problem with the guy who took our order or it may be a problem with the cook who didnt understand the order correctly. We were a group of 13 people, 8 Adults and 5 kids went for dinner. The complimentary papad(chips) they server was very bad, it seems to be very old and we have request for return. then we order 2 vegetarian platter and 2 non-Vegetarian platter.... Vegetarian platter was a mix of non vegetarian platter, so we have to return that as well..... then on main course we order DAL Tadka and they server black dal instead of Yellow Dal Tadka, as per the definition of DAL-Tadka, it is always supose to be Yellow DAL (Toor Dal).....we order six main course and with each main course there will be one rice as complimentary as they charge $12.95 for each entry, but they serve only one rice..... Chicken Mugali has mashrooms on it and 1 or 2 pieces of chicken...... Very Bad ..... not a good experience at all.... Beware do not go to this restuarant at all.

We were heading back to chicago from Dells when we thought of visiting this restaurant when our GPS indicated it is nearby highway. It turned out to be a lot inside from the I39. Anyways, the place is quiet and pleasant and all the time place for eating. We were welcomed and offered a table which we liked! We asked questions about contents and which were answered so we could size our dinner that way. There was complementary papad(indian food) which we could eat while our food was cooked. We ordered mango lassi and veg. dinner combo and we liked the taste of each item. The nans were good too. Complemntary rice. ALL FOOD WAS GOOD infact WE LOVED IT. This place is inexpensive and must visit. For all the 60-90 minutes we were there we saw many americans enjoying food... around 20-30 of them.. Oh they also offered to pack the remaining food which we could not finish! We will want to eat their lunch buffet once. WILL VISIT AGAIN. ALL THE BEST!! Thanks to Ladies.
