I live in Minneapolis and every time I go to Madison I make it a point to go to Batch Bakehouse. This is by far the best bakery I have been to. I love their ham and gruyere croissant. Their monkey bread is out of this world. Really, anything they sell is great. I can honestly say that I have yet to order anything I didnt like. Wow, I sound like a used car salesman. As I said, I live in Minneapolis and dont work for them and dont know anyone who works there so my review is unbiased. Just give it a try, itll be worth the trip. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that I tend to overeat because everything is so darn good.

The only reason to be disappointed here is if that thing you want is already sold out. Batch has amazing consistency, which has truly marked it as great for me. Even if I try something new that I dont particularly like, the quality is fantastic. I love the "simple" items too, like the raspberry oat bar - its just always so good. The baguettes are the best Ive found around too and I love their pretzels. It is pricey, but its nice to treat yourself with quality baked goods.

Yes, terrific baked goods, but served up by the rudest staff in Madison - and theres some strong competition out there! Ill miss their wonderful cheese bread, but why be insulted and told to butt out when all you want is a little polite service. On top of this they expect a tip! A tip for what, certainly not for any sort of friendly, open service. As nearly as I can see, the ugliness in this outfit starts right at the top--and goes all the way to the bottom.

The Monkey Bread alone is enough to warrant an immediate trip to this small, friendly bakery on the near east side (located where Pavlovs Pizza used to be, near the old sewing shop by the Yahara River). I also love: the baguettes. The epi. The challah. The cookies. I have yet to try the lemon pound cake or the enormous croissants (savory and sweet and plain) but I am going back as soon as humanly possible to do so. Welcome, Batch!

I do not live in Wisconsin. I am an avid baker. But for the past summer I have lived in Wisconsin and have indulged in Batch delectables on a weekly basis. I have been to bakeries in NYC and all over the country. Arguably Batch Bakehouse is one of the best in the country for pastries, breads, and cookies. The staff is always cheerful and helpful in making selections when asked. Thank, Batch, for making a great summer even better!

Ok, since Ive moved to Madison, this is the best bakery I have come across so far. The vegan fougazzie is heavenly, the multigrain is honestly the best I have ever had in my life. My family has had the monkey bread and other various sweets and have raved about them! (I would love to do sweets but cant) Also- their cracked wheat is delicious! Great place, five well-deserved stars.

Wife & I have been watching the Great British Baking Show for two weeks now. When we walked through the door, it was like walking into the tent. The ham & gruyere croissant was unbelievable. AND, when my wife couldnt decide between two croissants, the owner whispered to the attendant helping us, "Go ahead and give her both". Great food, great price, memorable service!

You have got to check this place out if you like good bakery. Great selection, friendly staff (no matter how busy they are) and some of the best baked goods in Dane County. The only down side is that they seem to have a limited repertoire so you see the same things frequently. Word on the street is that they are working on expanding their offerings. More yum!

Nice bakery of both sweet and savory breads, tarts, pastry, crescents, and other delights. My favorite is the semolina as it is delicious to bring home and dunk in olive oil. I like the long counter to sit and soak up the scents and the sun! Check out the daily specials and pick up a challah on Friday. Always fresh!

Delicious pastries, and so many varieties to choose from! The mini pecan pie is my favorite dessert to share, and all the fruit-topped pastries are equally as delicious. On their website they recommend that you order ahead of time if you plan on getting more than a dozen items.

Batch Bakehouse is my go-to bakery here in Madison. I buy a baugette almost every Sunday and they have a great mix of sweet and savory baked goods to choose from. My favorite is their croissant stuffed with Jordandal Farms ham and gruyere cheese. So good!!!

Worst coffee I had in a long time. Sour and undrinkable... Told the girl working and she replaced it with coffee that was made 2 1/2 hour earlier, yep you heard that right! that coffee was terrible to the pallet too. Pastries were OK. Service was OK

Loved this place! Delicious croissants, sweets and Intelligentsia coffee. Staff is attentive and prices are more than reasonable. There are communal tables with stalls inside so you can sit down and enjoy some of their delicious treats.

Best cake Ive ever eaten. The people there are very friendly and the atmosphere of the place, being a small store, is very welcoming. I have yet to try other items they have, but Im sure they are just as amazing.

One of the best Bakeries in Madison. Their Croissants are to to die for. I highly recommend getting their Challah bread; its only made on Fridays so go early! Anything you get will be delicious and satisfying!

Both the savory and sweet baked goods from Batch have been excellent every time weve visited, and the staff is very pleasant. This establishment is truly an asset to the WilMar neighborhood.

Amazing pastries! Wonderful breads! A fantastic staff that strives to make every experience a good one. Only problem is the weight gained by not being able to resist.

A must go. Truly gourmet baked goods. Awesome variety - is constantly putting out new products. I do think, however, that Madison sourdough has better bread.

It has a lot to choose from from cookies to pecan bourbon pie and breads. The workers are always very nice. Small high top seating or outside seating areas

My favorite bakery. No sandwich bread, but great miche loaves and baguettes. Croissants, cookies, cakes, as opposed to macarons, tarts, or doughnuts.

Best French bakery in town! Love all the pastry options, there always seems to be a varied selection and everything weve tried has been delicious.

I love this place. My biggest problem is limiting the number of times I stop in so I dont turn into one of their signature "filled rolls".

Always stop at Batch Bakehouse when we visit Madison. A great variety of pastries and bread. We stock up before going home to St. Louis.
