The West Side gets another alternative to chain restaurants with the Mt Tabor Brew Pub. The place serves a large selection of their own brews plus pizza and other pub food. Where they shine are in combinations and quality cooked in an open, wood-fired oven. I got a chance to sample some of their dishes, including roasted pork belly, and three specialty pizzas: the Beer Belly; Surrender; and The Amazing Amato. The Beer Belly blends fatty roasted pork belly and bacon with sweet pickled peppers, golden raisins and apple. Surrender features duck confit, chevre, arugula, mushrooms and a parsnip puree. The Amazing Amato has soppressata, black olives, mushrooms and a tangy tomato sauce. The Beer Bellys combo of fatty and sweet was a hit, as was the more traditional Amato, which scored on its sauce. The crust on these pies reminds me of what we make at home, both crunchy and chewy, a real delight compared to the homogenous dough found at most places. One thing I noted was that the food wasnt particularly salty, including the roasted pork belly, instead relying on the freshness of the locally sourced meats, cheeses and veggies to bring flavor.I washed it down with two pints of a seasonal lager. The open decor blends industrial and wood. Outside theres a fire pit with some seating and standing room, which Im sure will be a hit once its fired up. Ill enjoy bringing the family up here after a ballgame or hanging with friends when were too lazy to drive out to PDX. A perfect addition to the hood. Five stars because its five blocks away from my house!

Get ready for a long wait and a lot of excuses "Sorry, we just opened" when you share your comments about the wait to get into the pub (45 min) and an hour to get your food, another 25 min to get your dessert! I would wait a few months until they have the kinks worked out before giving this place a try. For opening week they are under staffed. Its too bad because many Felida residents have waitfor this pub to open. Pizza is nothing special, dough is barley wood oven crisp and Id skip the smores as its 1 graham cracker and four marsh mellows with a few sprinkles. I can say our waitress, Lori was excellent. She had zero control over the issues above and did her best to serve our family with a bright smile. She was working so hard to get to all her tables. Totally under staffed.

No Happy Hour on Fridays! Wont to there on future Fridays. As expected, it was a loud atmosphere, but even though all tables were full, I did not find it impossible to hear my dinner mates; but it required concentration. Pretzel was excellent! Seeing what others ordered: salads look good; asperagas look good; wings only ok; Mac & Cheese seemed okay but nothing special; Chicken BBQ sandwich was only ok; bun was a bit burnt on edges and bottom; taste/seasonings was fine, but the french fries were too thin for my preference... and not warm! Service was acceptable: took awhile to get our check as she seemed to have a lot of tables to serve. I would go again, but not on Fridays!

The food is great the beer (Im an IPA guy being english) great. The service is great but for me as a Brit and missing the pub feel its full of plastic people the felida crowed so too speak for me a pub is about the conversation but here thats not going to happen too many people full of themselves to want to talk to anyone else whom they fell that are less than them thats not how a pub works well not where Im from.. I think I have seen the owner but he hasnt yet said a word to me he is more interested in his plastic customers. I think it will be good for the area but dont think it will ever get the pub feel. Will keep you updated about the long run.

Food was delicious, we had a SM pizza which at first seemed a little high priced but turned out to be a fairly good size for the price. It was more than enough to feed two people. We also ordered their pub pretzel with their beer cheese which was super tasty! I being a bit of a beer enthusiatist asked the waiter(Taylor) what he thought of the IPAs that they had to offer, of which he was very knowledgeable an pretty well descriptive which lead to me having their Bridge and Asylum IPAs. In all, they were a great brewery, just like youd expect. Great location by the way, pretty laid back.

If you want to go somewhere quiet and cozy this is not the place to go. For a neighborhood get together this is great. We had the pizza and while it was good, nothing to write home about. The beer on tap is great. In fact we decided to order a couple of growlers to take home with us only to be disappointed with only one out of two containing the right beer. Hope to see improvements as the restaurant roots dig a little deeper with time. For now we will stick with our neighborhood favorites.

A friend and I went to happy hour during the week. The space is nice and open and clean, with TVs for sports games. We only ordered off the happy hour menu, but the selections were great, and the beers fantastic! The waitress was also very attentive and friendly, even though it was pretty obvious we were just going to dawdle for two and a half hours ordering small items. Five stars for atmosphere, food, and service!

Got a pizza to go. While waiting 25min standing at the bar, took almost 10 minutes to get a beer in a warm glass after I ordered it at the bar top. Was then asked if it was if they could cut the pizza up and stack it in small to go boxes. Right behind the server was a stack of pizza boxes they hadnt bothered to cut the plastic out on and assemble one, so we had soggy crust and a messy eat.

Pretzel better than Deschutes. Nuff said. Kids and family seated by hostess on one side, old farts and youngins another...smart front of house. Two solid sours. Lager, saison, and helles all good. Tiered abv choices. Great food. If you cant afford to eat finer food and drink quality beer, go back to Red Robin. Any neighborhood would love to have this place.

The Northwest Pizza I had was good, well cooked from the oven and nice ingredients. The beer was just okay as, while there is a decent selection of styles, the quality ranks about the same as what an amateur homebrewer would make; none of the beers I tried were particularly representative in flavor or aroma of what they were billed as.

I have been here a handful of times and am starting to wonder if this can be the neighborhood hangout I was hoping for. Each time I come, Im pleased with the beer, slightly disappointed with the food, but really disheartened about the poor service. Long waits and very loud, as well. Keeping my fingers crossed that service will improve.

Perfect neighborhood pub! Small menu but done well. We tried several items. Honey wings, pub pretzel, the cubano sandwich, and the 3 meat sandwich. Everything was sooooo good. The service was amazing, the ciders and beers were tasty! We also took desert to go. There was so much food we will eat the leftovers today for lunch!

The beer selection is good, but theres definitely room for improvement there. The food is good, rather expensive though. Good location but parking is not convenient. Recently they increased the price of their beer. The new price is well concealed in the menu (!). I think they sell now the most expensive beer in Vancouver..
