This was my 1st time to Squatters Craft Beers downtown SLC. My hotel recommended it as well as many reviewers; thanks Stella! I was impressed by their beer selections and thoroughly enjoyed their 50 cents, 3-ounce samplers. While sipping away, I noticed many reviewers had positive comments about the burgers and garlic fries and my stomach was growling. Since I was starving and the picture of the chili looked good, and I know it would be served quickly, I ordered a cup. I like my chili meaty, served hot, with a light spicy kick and this chili met that criteria. It was very tasty. Since I was drinking carbs, I ordered the blue cheese burger medium-rare, minus the bun, and added mushrooms. It was cooked correctly and had a nice fresh flavor, and the bacon had a nice hickory flavor to it. The garlic fries were tasty too, and werent loaded with garlic, rather a nice light amount so my breathe didnt bowl people over. Dessert, oh no... I had to try the bread pudding after a few "amazing" comments. I could feel my jeans tightening on my mid-section! OK, the bread pudding was incredible. Their was plenty of bourbon sauce which I spooned up and poured on top of the bread. They added walnuts and powered sugar on top, that was a nice addition and not overdone. Lastly, Jessica was my bartender and did a fantastic job. She welcomed my presence and always smiled. She also answered my many questions about the various beers and what made up their flavors; and never left me hanging, thanks Jess! I give Squatters Craft Beers 5-Stars for being a quality beer producer, with quality food, a clean environment, and friendly staff. I can easily see this place being a great hangout for locals and was very welcoming to visitors. I highly suggest you give it a try!

Maybe Sunday is the wrong day to visit. I have enjoyed a few good meals and beers here, but the food quality and service is so spotty. I was delighted to find their new(?) Hells Keep beer here in the last week. I learned that it just came back after a long hiatus. Then (on Sunday) it was almost like they gave up any effort to give good service. I was ignored for ten minutes. After I got my sandwich and beer, I looked for some additional service - there was an employee on break at the bar with a meal, and five of her co-workers chatting with her rather than helping guests. I finally told my waiter Id have another beer. and finally gave up and asked for the tab after an unreasonable wait. I went to their front desk where they have a beer-to-go counter, found that the fridge was out of that beer I liked. I asked the cashier if there was any more, she rang someone on the phone, and echoed that it was out of season - clearly not knowledgeable since it had just come back in season. This is the 3rd time that their Sunday customer service skills left me feeling really disappointed. Their food quality and beer quality isnt good enough that Ill ever return. Theyre off my list.

We walk in and the hostess is instantly glaring at us before we even say a word. She seats us and its a good ten minutes before our server even shows up. We finally get our food and I made the mistake of asking for fry sauce, another ten minutes. Then we were out of water and our server was no where to be found. By the time he did show up we had finished our food so we just asked for the check and he runs off again before telling us if we pay at the table, if we take it up front or if he has to cash us out. So we just went up to the hostess station and she very rudely said that she cant check us out. My sister said something like "weve been waiting forever" and then a guy named Pepe who I assume was the manager came over and cashed us out no problem. However the whole time he was doing this, the absolutely terrible hostess stood off to the side with her arms folded like the unprofessional child she is and GLARED AT US. How god damn old is she? Youre a hostess! Your whole job is being friendly and approachable not an ice queen giving people dirty looks. Grow up! In conclusion: Food was okay. Service was terrible (except for Pepe). We wont be coming back.

I went here on a Wednesday night and WOW! It was absolutely packed. I waited 25 minutes to be seated. With a wait like this, I am expecting some food and beer to KNOCK MY SOCKS OFF. Unfortunately, this wasnt the case. I sat in the corner next to the bar, the booth wasnt comfortable at all. The server was pleasant, however; you could tell she had too many tables to handle, so the service was compromised. I ordered a heff and I must say, I was disappointed in the taste. I thought a brewery would produce a better taste than that. The good - I took the waitress recommendation and ordered a turkey burger, and I must say, that was the best turkey burger I have had at a restaurant. Would I go back, yes. Would it be my first choice, no. If I did choose to go back, it would be strictly because of the taste of that turkey burger. Thats why I gave Squatters three stars instead of two!

I have been to Squatters a number of times and never found it to be extraordinary in any respect. Sometimes the food is good, but you would probably not go there just for the food. It is always busy for lunch and I can see how it would have a pretty good bar scene at night so those looking for a good local bar would probably be happy with Squatters. The service at Squatters always seems to be lacking as well. The host(ess) is generally very friendly but I have never had a waiter who paid any attention to my table. They always seem overworked and underhappy so oftentimes I am just excited to get food and one refill. So, why do I keep going to Squatters? It is close to the office and people that I know like it a lot for one thing or another. At some point I will find a menu item that is fantastic and assuming the service gets a little better I will come revise my review.

were visiting Salt Lake City as we frequently do. Had a couple of hours before a dinner reservation. The weather was unseasonably warm for October and decided that we would go to Squatters to enjoy the patio and beer. After parking in the lot adjacent to the building and paying the $6.00 parking fee we found the establishment closed. A small typed sign stated that they were closed for a private event. Their website, Google and Tripadvisor showed that they were opened. I would expect this for a small mom and pop restaurant to close for a vacation or death in the family or a business that struggles for business and would happily inconvenience their guests just to pay the bills with a private party. I gave it 1 star because we werent even able to get in the front door, for inconvenience, and major disappointment!

The food and beer is satisfying. However our server Ashly was impersonal and very short with us. I was with a friend who purchased some beer glasses. That was fine and good but glasses were used fresh from the dishwasher. I dont agree with buying used items at new prices. After a short conversation with a rude, unprofessional, just plane bi#^>tchy server she feels this is a standard business practice. Ashly lied about the managers name and then said she wasn't in. Ashly needs to find a job where she is happier and not punish people with her crappy attitude and poor people skills. After a few phone calls and round and round conversation they offered to replace the glasses. That all we wanted. I feel all the employees involved could use some lessons on customer service. Merry Christmas
