The side of the building says "Hoppyness is a choice". We recommend that you choose NO. My husband and I can afford to eat out, that doesnt mean we waste our dining dollars. In fact, we have a motto that we hate to spend our hard earned dollars to be disappointed. Based on past reviews, we skipped this new spot for my birthday. We decided to give it a shot today. We walked in and a guy directed us to menus, told us to seat ourselves and come back to order when we were ready. We had been here before when it was a fast food joint. Not much has changed except a few cheap applications of decor. We sat with our menus, and quickly decided we did not want to pay five star prices for one star service and atmosphere. Lunch would have been a minimum of $30 with only entrée and a tip. Apps, soup or salad and dessert would have doubled the bill. And this with no service! On our way out the door we spotted a large glass water pitcher full of room temperature water next to a tray of glasses. Apparently that was self service also. We drink water with our meals, but we prefer it on ice and served to us around the same time that our server takes our order, at our table. If you wonder whether our vote counts, we tip 30%.

Had this place on Tuesday. I travel to Eugene twice a week and have started sampling all the restaurant options for lunch. First of all, the pulled pork sandwich I had was SOO good. Its like it was perfectly juicy, and then also not sloppy. It also had a ton of meat on it which is a plus, and every bite was full of flavor. My french fries were seasoned with some good Cajun stuff , and they had a homemade ketchup that was incredible. I kinda wish they sold bottles of that ketchup; it was very unique and tasty. The value was surprisingly good here. When I pulled up, I saw big meat-smokers in the back and figured this would be some expensive bbq place. However, I paid about what Id expect at maybe a Red Robbins but got the kind of quality food Id expect at twice the price. Unfortunately, I did not taste their beer, since I had a long drive on i5 ahead of me. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants... I really wish it were closer to home.

There is no host/hostess or manager anywhere. We stood there waiting to be greeted for over 5 minutes. A server finally yelled to us from the kitchen area that we could sit anywhere but they close at 9. We looked at each other and then the server and asked, well can we eat? We were told yes, but they close at 9. It was 8:30. We should have left right then, but we gave it a chance. We both ordered the special, the same way. We even ordered the same beer to make it easy on the server and kitchen since we were obviously imposing, giving them our business, our hard earned money, we owe them apparently! Our waiter ditched our table mid service to clean and handed off our table to a fellow server. No ketchup with our burgers, no server to check on us. I had to walk to the kitchen and wait for someone to notice me to get ketchup. Overall, please dont rush your patrons when you are still open. Its rude and it really sucks to be treated that way.

This is a great place to go if you like unique food and outdoor dining(plenty of room with 12 tables, fidelity, waterfall feature). The inside is pretty cool too. The out door dining is next to the road, but it feels very relaxing and it isnt very loud. Staff is friendly and attentive. The crowd is a pleasant mix of laid back people.... old guys getting together after a round of golf, 30ish couples wearing t shirts with their favorite microbrew, butch lesbian group throwing back some pints. Cool menu items include "dirty fries; french fries drizzled with beer cheese and white cheddar cheese," and "The Elkaholic; half pound of house ground elk burger....". Overall, very cool place with great food and laid back people.

We have been there many times and really enjoyed it, especially the elk burger. Last time we went kind of ruined it. We had a family party of 8 people, including our 10 month old son. We brought him a snack to keep him quiet and happy before our food arrived. We all ordered appetizers, drinks, entrees, and even a side for the baby. Once we received the bill, we noticed a charge for "open food". Maybe we were too sensitive, but it seemed unnecessary considering his age and the amount we spent. We go to many restaurants in Eugene and this has never happened before. We definitely wont go back and wont recommend it to those with young children.

This place was awesome! We went for lunch while we were in from out of town. The decor is cool, there is a tiny corner downstairs with stuff for small children to play with and games (connect 4, jenga) for older kids. Awesome beer that you can sample first. But the food.....was amazing. We shared the BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato) and added smoked turkey. Side of rosemary fries and $1 wednesday wings. Staff was awesome and friendly. Cant say enough good about this place!!

fair disclosure... I walked out... it seems like the food is pretty legit, but we walked in, waited until we were directed to a "please wait to be seated" sign that wasnt visible from the entrance... were told to wait by the girl at the counter, after a while a guy told the people behind us to sit wherever they saw a seat, and on the way to sit we were told by a second guy to go back and talk to the first guy... so take your chances, but its a bit of chaos.

Ordered The Dirty Burg and when it was delivered it was plain......no cheese, no curds just 10 bacon bits and tatertots on an over cooked burger. You would think they would pay attention to orders delivered thru a service because the only option is refund and not fix it. So Im out 20 bucks, working a 10 hour day with a gross dry burger for dinner. Thanks Elk Horn Brewery! Good lookin out. (Delivery Derive was Grub hub by the way, they were great)

Ordered the Dirty Burger with Dirty fries. It was missing all of the cheese and sauce. I literally ate a plain patty with a few tots and a bun. Also paid $3 extra for dirty fries that came plain. This was delivered through GrubHub so unfortunately I couldnt return it. $25 for a burger that was completely inedible. Fries were decent but not what I ordered. I sure hope this isnt the standard for burgers around here. Yuck!

Had a flight of several beers and ciders, and they were all great. The Nutella Stout was one of the better stouts Ive had! We also had some kind of fries which were basically a form of Poutine. We ordered our food and beverages at the counter, then they brought our order to us on the upper level. The environment was wonderful, and the experience was fantastic. Well definitely be going again next time were in Eugene!
