We are big fans of Luc, across the street, but wanted something a bit different last night. A dark, cozy spot for a cold winter night, but there was something "off" about the mâitre d (or owner?)... He didnt interact with us so much as opine and then dash away. He reeled off way too many specials to be do-able on a slow night, I thought, but after questioning him I ordered one of them: the cassoulet. When it arrived, mouth-scaldingly hot, it took me awhile to realize it was mostly beans poured over a skinless duck leg with a couple of thin slices of sausage. Definitely not a "confit" of duck, which Id asked him to confirm, and overwhelmingly flavored with oregano and thyme, giving it a Mexican savor. At one point he swooped by to check on our dishes but not long enough to listen, so when the under-waiter asked how it was, I told him in detail. The bombastic one then surfaced and began berating the under-waiter for not reporting this earlier; we had to intervene. Earlier in the evening our peace was marred by hearing the shrill voice of the boss-man hectoring his two staff persons just off the dining room. His personality ruined our meal—and by the way, if you want excellent cassoulet, walk across the street!

I am touched by the authenticity and quality of the food I ate at this restaurant. I am a huge French food foodie, specifically Bistro style food and travel to Paris annually just to enjoy it. This restaurant easily stands up to some of the best such traditional food that I had in Paris itself. The Bouef bourguignone was heart warming with its red wine and ever-so-subtly tomatoey sauce and the fork-tender stew meat. One of the Best versions I have ever had. And, OMG, the Tarte Tatin ... Heavenly ! Good job, Chef !

Great deal for Wednesdays three course dinners or their Beaujolais wine deal nights. I havent had anything on their menu that I do not like. I wish they had their escargot as a regular menu item, but when they do have it, its a great treat. Michael is also a very awesome server. My only complaint is that the tables often get a little cramped, and when it gets really busy (even if you have a reservation), you sometimes get stuck by one of the tables by the door. This is just a little unpleasant when its cold.

Great ambiance in this dark, intimate interior, summer dining in the back alley is quaint though cramped. The food and service can range from great to just satisfactory. Some consistently good dishes like the mussels or coq au vin, punctuated by missed like a stringy duck confit.

Voila Bistrot is a wonderful place. Its petite atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food is wonderfully authentic! Their boeuf bourguignon is easily the best stew Ive had. I took my parents here and every single person in my party was amazed. You guys did a great job!

Food was delightful, service was quick but not rushed. Only problem is having the curtains at the entrance confuses poor souls like me as to if they can actually come inside! Walk through the curtains people!

What a pleasant surprise! Open on Christmas Eve and we were so happy for that. All was tasty as h... I took on the special rib eye steak and it was off the hook.

Extraordinarily good, even counting all the good restaurants nearby. Tres francie. Fully compliant with the traditional Bistro business model.

Incredible food and service. But should be $$$. I spent 100$ for two entrées an appetizer and two glasses of the house red wine.
