I had the opportunity to try a cake from Salvadorean Bakery and Restaurant Inc a couple of months ago. Recently, I needed to pick up a cake for a friends good bye soire so I decided to try getting a cake from Gigis. I called them first to inquire about the cost of their cakes...their in stock cake is about $25 for 9". Its available in various flavors but during the day of purchase I decided to get the mocha strawberry tres-leche cake. In addition to the cake, I also bought meat pies and potato balls. The cake was delicious and so were the savory things that I got. The staff was so cordial and accommodating. They dont charge for you to write a message on the cake and they provide you cutting utensils for the cake. Gigi definitely comparable to Portos without the ridiculous long line. Food quality and standard is in the same level as Portos. Parking in the venue is very limited so try to find street parking if you can. I definitely plan on coming back to Gigis and its made my top bakery places to go get savory pies and cakes :D Its a gem thats hidden in Historic Filipinotown! I definitely plan on telling other friends about this place.

If you like baked goods this is a place for you! The pupusas are what always brings me in to this place - there are several to choose from, but I like the pollo y queso, the queso loroco, and the queso ayote (the latter is made with cactus leaves.) The pupusas themselves have great texture and flavour but when you eat them you must make sure to use the sauce and slaw that come with them to complete your experience. The bakery cases are always filled with numerous kinds of Salvadorean baked goods - mostly sweet, but there are a few savoury options too. The guava pastry (not the guava cookies, which are also good but vastly different) is flaky goodness that is gone too soon. It has been years since i had one of the tamales that they make but i do remember them being REALLY nice - moist and fresh tasting if memory serves. The location *is* a bit far out if you dont live in West Seattle, but it is WORTH the drive. Make sure to get extra pupusas and baked goods to take home and share with others who will be so grateful you included them in this seattle staple!

The only good thing about this restaurant is the bakery! My experience here was not good at all. Do you want to eat food full of grease? Then this will be the place for you. I have eaten at other salvadorean restaurants and have never seen food like this! The pupusas are extremely greasy as you indent your finger in it you will see all the grease come out. Do not get the "Guanaco plate" a mixture of plantain, pupusa, tamale and other food, all of it was full of grease (deep fried)! I could not eat this food it was extremely greasy. I have eaten pupusas at other places and they have never been full of grease! Not worth eating at this place.

Ive loved their strawberry/banana cake cakes for as long as I can remember and was a staple at our birthday parties. Parking though can be a challenge...I remember my dad would drop off my mom and then circle around the block a few times and then my mom would load up the cake and we were on our way to devour this tasty treat. :) And to carry on the tradition, weve been buying this cake for our son as well. Aside from their strawberry/banana cake, the baked pork bun, pineapple bun, sponge cake and egg custard are super yummy too. Cant go wrong with any of the pastries/baked goods they have there.

A White Center staple. Great treats for a quick bite but amazing sandwiches, breakfast/dinner plates and overall a great locale, free parking. If its late in the day, some of the baked goods can get old, but are still pretty good. Still a 5 because if you want something fresh you can order it, but have to wait and pay more, obviously. Ordered an upside down banana cake for a dinner and it was a highlight, just a lot of great stuff here, try a pupusa if youre in the neighborhood.

Everything went fine entering went for their lunchtime 2-5 pupusa deal wanted to get some dessert after and was waiting in line. Then they helped the person who had just entered while i was waiting in line. Got a little agitated about that but I told myself its fine Ill just be helped next then they did it a second time. I found that very disrespectful and I left.

I just moved into the neighborhood and we decided to try the bakery. Amazing delicious baked goods, incredible food like pupusas. I bring all my out-of-town guests here now, and they love it! I go here at least once a week. The wait to get the food you ordered can be long, but thats because they are making it fresh to order. Definitely worth the wait. Yum!

Worst customer service EVER! Including management.. I went in for food waited 50 minutes while everyone that came after me got theirs I went up to the manager and just said "were busy" (no that place wasnt busy) didnt apologize or said Ill check how much more time Itll be. I asked for a refund politely she rolled her eyes this place is very unprofessional.

La más pésima atención que he recibido. No saben como tratar de forma profesional al cliente. Los problemas personales los agregan al menu.

We ordered a tres leches cake for a party. The ordering was easy with the salesperson being helpful, patient and accommodating. The cake itself was amazing. I would do it again and again. The food prices seem to have gone up, pushing the cost a bit too high, but, yes, the food is very good.

The food is delicious and the baked goods are exceptional. Water is self service and coffee is free refills. The service is very polite but not like most restaurants. No one is coming to your table to refill water or coffee; its not that kind of restaurant.

Ok food, takes a while to get your food, and the people who eat there, are rude and stare at you as if you were an alien from outerspace. It is extremely uncomfortable. If you like that sort of atmosphere this is good for place for you.

Fantastic food, I definitely suggest the Casamiento, its to die for! Its also one of the few places I can actually buy queso fresca, and it has an array of baked goods to buy too.
