Where to start? It took me about 20 minutes to get my sandwich, which, after looking at it I began to question why it was so expensive. It looked like it was put together by a 5 year old. And unfortunately, this 5 year old decided to go crazy with the horseraddish. I mean... CRAZY. with the horseraddish. There was so much, I had to scrape it off, and even after that, it was so unbearable that all I could taste was the bitter burning. The only upside was that I got to walk by an empty plate that was offering free cookie samples. Although I am pretty sure they lace them with horseraddish. 10/10 do not recommend.

Judging from the number of tables: this isnt youre tiny Seattle neighborhood cafe. It reminds me more of a Panera or an au bon pain but theres still something local about the staff... I digress. Every time Ive been in here Ive been served fast, efficiently, and pleasantly. I also usually go during the afternoon. Not sure what all the haters are saying on this but maybe they should go to one of those snob-arista havens in town and complain that they have no place to park their Urban Outfitter bicycle. Cause my impression is that this place serves the masses, not just their homies.

DELICIOUS pastries and drinks! Seasonal sandwiches really hit the spot. Try the grilled eggplant if they have it in stock. Rotating menu offers novelty and variety, while classic staples are good for a breakfast on the run. Good atmosphere for writing or getting work done with plenty of tables and plugs for laptops/phones/etc. I would highly recommend this place as a study spot for university students. Open to young and old alike, great meet-up place for coffee with a friend. :)

the pre-made sandwiches process is messed up. Im a regular customer but never got the pre-made sandwiches....well, today I tried to....there was a long line of people waiting to have their sandwiches made....so I decide to grab one of the pre-made sandwiches and pay and go back to work....I was told that after grabbing my pre-made sandwich that I had to go back in line to pay for it....wheres the time savings? maybe for them to make the sandwich...not for the customer....

Why dont you get your sandwich in the order it was placed? Why did I get my grilled cheese after people behind me in line are getting their grilled tuna salad sandwiches and BLTs? My single item took 12 minutes while other people with multiple, more complex items got theirs in under 10 minutes??? Plus, their cookies are hard and the croissants are dry and hollow. Ugh. I only come here when Im desperate as their isnt much else on this block.

I *LOVE* this bakery! Mostly the pastries. Great for a quick bite on my way to the bus in the mornings. They have some regular staples as well as rotating seasonal items, like the kids of fruits theyll use. Their sandwiches make great lunches to go or to enjoy sitting out in the sun in the summer. (I recommend the tuna!) Their bread loaves look really yummy, and smell divine. I like that you can order pies and things for the holidays, too!

On our quest for coffee, quiche, and coffee cake we road through Fremont, over the University bridge and finally stopped at the Grand Central Bakery. Good coffee, food was tasty. There was a cute "service dog" that had nice portable eye level art following him everywhere. The patrons were kind and introduced themselves for some small talk. :) All in all (less a slightly slow barista - today) I will return. :) NO WiFi AT THIS TIME.

This Grand Central Bakery location has some of the nicest staff member in the restaurant industry in Seattle. Prices are higher than in other bakeries, but the quality of their sandwiches and baked goods is outstanding. The have bread "happy hour" one hour before closing time. Their U-Bake products are excellent and very easy to use at home. And you cant beat their seasonal sandwiches. They make a mean Montecristo!

I try to give every restaurant a second and third chance and gave this bakery every opportunity. The staff is very friendly, but they make a high number of mistakes with my order and the food is significantly overpriced. I would not recommend this place. Petes Market is nearby and half the price for the same quality.

I always want to love this place, but the space, while large and open, can feel pretty impersonal. Staff is friendly, but I dont get the sense of being in a "local" bakery. Great sandwich options, but not much in the way of croissants the day I was in there looking for one. Great bread loaf bakery.

Great food and local sourcing too! The chicken and beef are from local farms, so thats really a distinguishing factor. Excellent bread and really excellent butter croissants. Dont let the dull/corporate facade fool you, this is a high-quality establishment...

A bit pricey to go often for food, but I do love the breakfast bolo sandwich. Its amazing. So good, I enjoy buying their bolo bread and trying to make my own sandwiches at home. I really recommend making any sandwich with that bread!

I had a great shrimp roll here, good-sized and with sustainable Oregon shrimp. I ordered during lunch rush but the line moved quickly. Prices are not low, but reasonable for the neighborhood and the nice space. Employees seem great.

This place is horrible. They have gone down in service. They are rude. Disrespectful. And are extremely rude to their employees. They rotate out employees and throw away hard workers for no reason. They deserve to be shut down.

Veggie grinder + quad shot latte is the near perfect Saturday vice. The staff is friendly and while it is a hit or miss wrt how crowded it could be, i keep coming back. GCB is one of my all time favourite cafes in Seattle.

Great setting. Good service (a bit disjointed between food/beverages, but a minor issue). Could really benefit from some solid veggie options. The kale salad was delicious, but no real veggie entrees were to be found.

This place was pleasant to visit. I ordered a large drip coffee that I thought was high quality, the service was very friendly, and looked like there were nice small bites I will try next time I visit.

Ample prices, meager portions. I paid $8 today for a sandwich that took 20 minutes to make and had 1 slice of ham on it. The staff is pretty unfriendly as well. I wont be going back.

Artisan breads, sandwiches and pastries. This is a fav on the weekends. Less crowded than 14 Carrot on Eastlake, but so much better. The coffee is good and so is their veggie sandwich.

The pastries are baked fresh daily. The sandwichs are made to order and delicious. Staff is very thoughtful and polite. Large orders are easily managed and fairly priced.

Free Wi-Fi, lots of indoor and outdoor seating. A small number of vegan food options. Good coffee, almond milk available. Lots of bread if that is your thing.

Great baked goods, pretty good coffee, moderately slow service (esp. for the coffee), and still overpriced. Still, did I mention great baked goods?

Great coffee and a wide selection of baked goods in a cool, relaxed neighborhood. Great big windows makes it feel like your indoors while sipping.
