Ive Been Working At 85c Bakery For 4 Months A lot Of The Regulars Know Me As The "Fast Bagger" Or "The Fastest Cashier" Ive Decided To Quit Because Of The Unfair Mangment But Thats Beside The Point , Im Here To Give You The Inside Scoop ! Lets Start W/ The Fresh Bread Area. All of The Four Hour Breads Are Suppose To Be Mark W/ A Date And Time Of When They Should Be Replaces . These Bread Are The Ones Containing Eggs, Meat , Cheese Etc. Accept We Stop Doing That After 2pm Since We Know The Health Department Wont Be Coming By Than . During The Day When We Do Date And Time The Bread We Condense Everything So A Tray Thats Been Sitting Out For 2 Hours Can Be Transfer To A Brand New Try Making Half Of Them Over Due And The Other Half Fresh ! And The Worst Part About Is That All The Meat Products Are Made With Mayo THAT SITS ON THE COUNTER ! A Few Of My Co-Workers And I Have Been Sick Off Of Our Own Food Which Is Why I Stopped Eatting 4 Hour Breads Within The First 2 Months Of My Working There . On To The Cake Display ! My General Manger Along W/ A Few Others Has Gotten Sick Off Of The Mangos That We Use . And Thats Not Even The Worst Part ! We Still Continue To Use Those Mangos . The Cake Display Is Also Condense Which Means The Older Cakes Are In The Front Of The Display And Might Be A Day Or Two Over Due. The Cakes All Come Out Of Boxes, The Only Thing We Do Is Decorate And Cut Them . Oh And Those Egg Tarts You Guys All Love So Much Come From A Bucket Of Egg Whites That Are NOT Fresh Bon Appetite As Far As Management Goes We Have On General Manager Doing The Work Of 3 ! Ive Seen Peoples copys of Social Security Numbers And IDs Laying Around Un Attended More Than Twice . The Money And Hours Are Great But

Four stars for food and drinks. One star for organization and long waits. One would think that after opening 900 bakeries all over the world and 26 locations in the US, that the company would have a better idea on how to eliminate long lines. The long lines are due to the slow check out process. Even though there were only 12 people on front of me waiting to pay, it still took 25 minutes to get to my turn. They didnt open up the fourth register until the line reached the door. After paying, i then had to wait another 10 minutes for my drinks. Overall, i spent 40 minutes in the store, and that time should have only been 20. I really feel sorry for people who had to wait longer than that. Its really not worth it. Onto organization, 90% of the pastries did not have labels on them so i had no idea what i was buying. As for pastries, I like most of the pastries here. Theyre light easy to eat. I dont care too much for the savory ones as i find theyre often drier than the sweet ones. The drinks are great too.

Bakery items are great, but they need a better system to deal with the crowds. And because they specialize in Asian baked goods, Id like to think you can get what you need from many local businesses with our large Asian communities and neighborhoods. I waited 75 minutes to get in, then half an hour in line to pay. The tiramasu was made with sponge cake, not lady fingers...it tasted great (both regular and the lighter strawberry kind), but its not authentic in that regard. Tips: order ahead of you want a cake, or call to figure out what can be placed to avoid less wait time. If you dont want any choose your own items from the left, but cake items from behind the counter, go directly to the "drinks only" cashier to bypass the wait. It was worth one visit, but not worth the wait. Update: went a second time in August 2017. Busy, but no line out the door. Wouldve bought a cake, but headed for the airport.

Update: Im changing my rating from a 5 star to 3 star. Their food and drinks are still great but I dont know what happened. Compared to the staff that opened this place, their new staff is rude and obviously hate their jobs. And hate the customers. Im waiting for my drink and see a sea salt coffee just sitting there for about 5 mins so i ask what number it is, the only response I get is a look and the lady telling me to check the number. Ok. I get it. You hate your job. So happy it finally opened! Now I dont have to go down to LA just to have their sea salt foam iced coffee. Thats my absolute fav. Suggestion: sip a bit of the foam first. Its really quite yummy! And dont stir the foam in completely. Just enough so your coffee is infused with the foam but there is still a heavier layer on the top so you can taste that yummy goodness throughout the day.

4-5 stars on the pastries & drinks, but honestly 1 star on the wait and organization (as mentioned quite a few times in other reviews). The bread is generally fresh and come out frequently to meet customers demands. Workers also are willing to help you with choices or answer questions (most of the time). People seem to be able to pick out their pastries within 3-5 minutes but end up waiting over 20 minutes in line! At times, I wonder if its even worth the wait. You can just see how slow the service is and there is not enough effort to move the line more quickly. There could definitely be changes done to make wait times go down! I definitely recommend going to try the pastries, but make sure you have about 15 minutes (at least) to 30-40 minutes (at most) to spare.

This is a bakery chain from, I think California. They have a great assortment of breads, pastries, sweets, and drinks. Be prepared to wait in line because there is always a line out the door. Yo go in, grab a tray and load it up. Then when you are ready to check out they individually bag everything and give you a box so nothing gets crushed. The breads and pastries are incredibly tasty and super cheap. I think we ended up spending under $20 for a full tray of items and we even grabbed some cake from the case. Most of the items here are not typical American breads either, they have bread with taro filling and other things that I havent seen before. I cant recommend this place enough for the quality of the food and the cost.

Lets be real, there are ridiculous lines for this bakery and sometimes there is none but its hard to say when. Expect to be here for at least an HOUR from lining up to paying for your pastries. That said. If you wanna make your trip worthwhile, youd buy hella pastries for you and your friends to share so they might not suffer (and may compensate you for your suffering). Even though there are big lines, pastries here are good and cheaper than places like bakery nouveau but not cheaper than most other asian pastries if you go up to seattle ID...it kinda feels like washingtons version of voodoo donut. I wouldnt want to imply that its overrated but its just really popular cause cheap good pastries....and good sea salt coffee.
