Decent Indonesian Food and Great Servers First, get here slightly before most common meal times, because parking is extremely limited. The interior is much nicer than the overall location, but it still has some strange oddities about it. For example, the music choice is grating 00s American pop songs youd mostly expect to hear at a high school dance. Also, there are weird advertisements for a real estate agent in the menu and on the TV (which has an equally weird televised menu paired with tourist promotion clips for Indonesia). Ignoring that, the wait staff is extremely friendly and tolerant of bad costumers (we watched our server patiently wait on an annoying costumer and couldnt understand how anyone can deal with the insulting ignorance some people bring with them). They deserve five stars and I cant stress enough how kind everyone is. Overall, the food is okay, but not incredible. Some of the items were overcooked, others required added seasoning to complete the dish. It seemed more like a cook being off of their game than it did anything. The Kwetiau Goreng Indonesia noodle dish tastes basically exactly the same as Chinese Chow Fun; greasy, warm, thick noodle clumps with little bits of cabbage and sliced meat. The main difference is in the sauces used (in which case: I prefer the Chinese seasonings) during the stir-frying process. However with some kecap manis and sambal, the noodles tasted a lot better. The Nasi Padang combo was fairly authentic. The Ayam Balado (spicy fried chicken) was perfectly cooked and juicy (although spicier than you could ever imagine), while the Rendang (beef) was a bit more balanced, but sadly overcooked and mostly dry. The only criticism I have about portions is that the noodle dish was pretty small and the rice dishes should probably come with a little bit more rice. Otherwise, its pretty standard. If youve never had or made Indonesian food, its definitely worth trying. The food from that region of the world is extremely diverse and flavorful. Indo Cafe does a decent enough job, and unfortunately, theyre one of the few places you can even try this food.

So, Ive been their regular customer in the past year ,everything was fine ,food quality superb ,happy hour meals are great ,until I called up last nite (Friday 3/5) at 9:35 pm to order to go I know they closed at 10:00 pm, so I am assuming I am OK with the timing. A polite order taker answer the phone saying "Let me check with the kitchen first" in Indonesian language and I can overheard him saying to kitchen staff "Its those Everett people!" after paused for 4 seconds he answered and saying "Sorry we are really CLOSED so maybe some other time" and hang up the phone ! Heres my complaints: 1).How does he know that I live in Everett ? I even do not saying where I am calling from (perhaps none of his business to ask where I am calling from ,even if I live in Mars ,why does he care)? Lets assume I live in Everett, doesnt he realize that people can use phone in their car to order to go as long as they arrive at the restaurant NO later than 10 pm,right ? So, all this bullshit really doesnt make any sense at all! 2).If the owner ( or the order taker) SMART enough and wanting to keep their regular customer loyal to their business they should instead answer "By the way,we close at 10 PM,would you be able to pick up your order before that time?".Then he or she could make the judgment whether or not to take that specific order to go upon hearing the customer feedback. The food was amazing and the staff is so sweet! The location really is "humble" as described, but cozy and very clean nonetheless. Between the three of us we wanted to sample as much as possible while I was in town on vacation. We enjoyed all the dishes and Id recommend any of what we ordered. We got the kangkung belacan (a saucy vegetable that is usually spicy but you can alter that here), ayam goreng balado (as pictured, a fried chicken smothered in sauce as spicy as you want), ikan goreng lalapan (pretty much the same as the fried chicken, but it comes with a different type of sambal), beef rendang (not like my mothers of course, but if my taste buds remember correctly it tastes like the rendang you might buy at a restaurant in Indonesia), gado-gado (a really unique Indonesian vegetable dish: fresh crunchy vegies garnished with boiled egg slices and tempeh, all dressed with peanut sauce) and Nasi goreng Indoensia (Fried rice). All delicioius! I can appreciate that its not "just like moms" because it never will be, and every kitchen has its own style of spice combination, which this place knocks out of the park! A++. This Indo-American approves all the way!

I visited this place with my kids hoping to finally have a hearty meal, boy was I in for a surprise. We walked into very dusty tables, very somber decor, waited 15 mins before some actually came over to take our orders. The food came and it was the most disgusting meal I have had in ages. Stale, dry tasteless. Its the first Indonesian restaurant i have visited and walked out still hungry. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy....

Not only is the food delicious and authentic and the service friendly and efficient, but the couple running the show are upstanding citizens! I lost my wallet there and they took the time and made the effort to track me down to let me know. Im not only grateful but my faith in fellow citizens is restored. Definitely going back and bringing friends and family.

Fantastic and authentic Indonesian food, a small selection of bottled beer and wine, good atmosphere. Parking can be cramped (note to self: drive the Prius not the flatbed) but the place is very open and roomy inside.

Good Indonesian food, pretty spicy which I like. Appetizers are mostly just OK except for their chicken skewers which are very good. Their curry beef is very good.
