Marcelo Bello Hospitality and Tourism Management Student Highline College

I have always walked by this place on the way to get my haircut, and always wanted to check it out. When I first walked in, I was a bit (pleasantly) surprised with how much nicer it is inside than what I expected. Not sure why, but I expected it to be just a tad bit more casual -- but that is a good comment. As soon as you sit down they serve you a small tostada with a salsa mixture on top, so that was nice. And it was pretty tasty. I also ordered more chips, salsa and guacamole. Can never go wrong with that combo. My most important judgement on Mexican restaurants is based on the quality of their chips, and I can definitely say the ones here were good. For my dinner, I ordered the pollo asado. It was flattened grilled chicken, rice, and black beans. In all, I actually thought the chicken was really tasty. It had good flavor for being beaten thin. The rice I wasnt crazy about. In all the food was good. As for seating, it felt a bit tight. We were seated along the wall where one side is a long bench, and the other side is chairs. The space between the tables was a tad bit intimate against stranger for my liking, but I wasnt exactly sure if that was intentional or not. Im pretty sure given the opportunity, that I would go back here for more.

The best part of this place is the tortilla lady in the corner. The chips are by far some of the best chips Ive had... The salsa is very unappealing and to the individuals who dont eat Mexican very often will get turned off by it. Id stick with a red salsa if I were you guys. I swear you wont go wrong.... Service was subpar to say the least... The waiter was friendly but it seemed to be way understaffed...Not his fault.... Okay now with the food. Im from Texas so we have a huge Mexican influence with the cuisine and here its by far atrocious. Stop trying so hard, fill your enchiladas with meat for the love of baby Jesus... Yes Im sure there are just people who want cheese and onions in their enchiladas, but for the rest of us carnivores put some damn meat in there... The Milanesa hit home with me though because it was just the way my mom made it. But besides the point! Fill your enchiladas with some meat.... Get some red salsa.... And stop trying to hard with the dishes... Mexican is supposed to be food for the soul I guess you can say... So just make it filling and delicious and I swear youll get even better reviews. Stop with the cabbage and cheese garnishes.

As first time visitors to Seattle, we werent sure how the mexican food would be, but we were pleasantly surprised. There seems to be a fair amount of mexican restaurants around, with several on Pine Street alone. We went with Fogon because of the positive Yelp reviews and I must say that we were satisfied. Despite the fact that one of our 5 hosts/hostesses couldnt seem to get us over to the right table without an issue, we finally got a seat around 9:15PM. Thanks to the late night happy hour, the prices were very cheap. We went with a combo of the street tacos and some fresh made chips and gauc. The gauc was fantastic. Drink wise, the wife had a house margarita that was good and very strong. I had a Tecate and lime. Service was quick and generally friendly. Unfortunately our table was a bit crammed next to our neighbors, but they werent annoying, so we didnt mind. Overall, the prices and the food cant be beat.

Possibly the best Mexican in Seattle. Certainly the best prices for quality food and drinks. We went for Happy Hour. Terrific service and we loved the free appetizer--a tostada I think. Mostly ordered off the happy hour menu except for a chil relleno entre, which was so fresh and perfectly prepared. A huge poblano pepper. The cheese stuffing could have been more melted, but that is the only criticism. Maybe I dont care for Mexican cheese that much. The pine board seats were a bit hard, but after two drinks we didnt notice anymore. We plan to return soon.

Drinks were good. I absolutely loved the Vampiro cocktail. Spicy and ever so subtly sweet. The Mexican mule was also pretty good. I ordered the shrimp cocktail with a side of fresh tortillas. I loved every bite. I would hurt someone to get those corn tortillas. Husband ordered tacos Al pastor. Just yes. We had a nice moment to connect with the waiter about how different Spanish can be depending on where youre from in the Spanish speaking world. Overall it was a great experience and the tortilla lady made my day.

My family and I went to Fogon last night and were so pleased with the service and the food was the best Mexican food Ive ever had, by far. I had the seafood enchiladas and was very satisfied. There was truly a lot of seafood as the menu had noted. It was delicious! My family was very pleased with their dishes. Our server, Brenda, was perfect in the way she checked on us frequently and with such a pleasant manner. We will definitely go to Fogon whenever we are in Seattle.

Hola que tal! Soy de México, pero viajo constantemente a usa de paseo. Soy cantante y guitarrista y de pronto me gustaría tener algunas participaciones en su restaurante, cantando algunas canciones ahí. Podría ser?

The food was really good and since I am Mexican I can really tell that they made their food with real ingredients...but there are not really organize they bring the food without forks or spoon so I am expecting eat like homeless guy does on the street ... plus the drinks they bring the water when we are about to finish our meal ..I mean we have soda by common it wasnt that busy ponganse las pilas or they will loose a lot of businesses.

The food/experience is wonderful. Homemade corn tortillas is a rarity in the Pacific North West and I believe I have been to all 4 restaurants in the Seattle area that make them on site. Once seated, you are served an incredible, freshly made tostada as an appetizer. I typically get the street tacos and I am never disappointed. I highly recommend this place and believe it will ultimately be a >25 rating once enough reviews come in.

Spectacular! Who knew an unassuming strip mall taqueria would be so incredible?! Handcrafted tortillas are tender and moist. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, super low prices! The fish tacos are non-fried and delicious with tons of fish. Even the chips are great. One of the best brick and mortar tacos shops in this town and Ive sampled a lot.... Fogón Cocina Mexicana, is delicious and in fact, phenomenonal.
