They dropped some serious coin on the decor, its a shame they didnt pay more attention to the food. I vaguely remember the space but the transformation took my by surprise. I tried the Pork Pibil and Chile Rellenos, granted neither was flagged with the pepper indicating spicy, but I would have expected something in the way of flavor given the descriptions. Something? Anything?? Sadly both dishes reminded me of something youd find at the Mexican restaurant that once inhabited the space across the street or perhaps an Azteca, minus the beans and rice for twice the price. The pork was tender but bland, reminiscent of something boiled and replete with grayish hues. The potatoes tasted like hash brown cubes from the Safeway freezer selection and the pickled green fresno chile was nowhere to be seen. Not even an ounce of spice in the Rellenos served in what tasted like canned tomato sauce. I wish I had noticed the habanero sauce earlier and perhaps I could have resurrected this meal for an extra $.50. Perhaps I just ordered poorly :( The tequila list is extensive and included one of my favorites, Clase Azul, albeit outrageously priced ($75 a bottle in Cali, not sure what it is in Seattle but thats a serious markup for a shot). Beer selection is typical, tap list is boring, and the wine list is minuscule and odd (not in a good way, I once owned a wine shop and trust me, I like odd... not like this). Service was fine, nothing memorable. Atmosphere is impressive; the deck space with roll up doors/windows will be great in the summer, good call on the second bar out there, Im sure itll be busy if it ever warms up.

Terrible food not good food at all. This is very poor example of Mexican food. As a real 100% Mexican I can tell all that they need to learn to make salsas, and the food was poor, and too expensive. For 3 people we paid over $89.00 for food that was not as expected for the price. The looks are very deceiving. The taste is too sad to be thought of Mexican food. A desgracia to Mexican food is found in this place. All else is good but do not have the food. the drinks are ok but they do not make the drinks. the water is kept ambient in bottles left open GOD know what is found in it. No ice and the fresh water drinks like Orchata drink, no way they really need to learn how to make Mexican food and specially their salsas, fact they are not good and you have to buy these separate. we bought it but were sorry, we will never eat there again. Even Taco Bell beats them in taste (which is also not a Mexican Restaurant either). No Mexican nothing found here. Contact me if you dare.

I started with the salsa trio and guacamole. These are served with freshly made tortilla chips. Each salsa is amazing in its own way but my favorite is always salsa verde and this salsa verde was bright and tangy with a subtle spice to it. The guacamole is also really good with a great balance of lime and spice and the perfect level of chunkiness. I ordered tacos al pastor. The sauce was smoky sweet and paired with the slow roasted pork and pineapple chunks amazingly. I found that adding some of the house hot hot habanero salsa added the perfect finishing touch. My mom ordered several margaritas. I think El Tamarindo was a bit sweet but it likely would have been too tart otheriwse. The purist margarita was elegant with an añejo and fresh lime that perfectly highlighted the personality of a decent tequila. I definitely want to come back!

Honestly, this might be my favorite burrito spot. Its probably a good thing its a little bit of a walk from my apartment, otherwise I would 100% eat here too often. Its a classic mission burrito atmosphere inside. A decent amount of seating inside, but late at night on the weekends it definitely gets packed. The first time I ever came here, there was a lineup that swung around the front of the building outside!I almost always get the super burrito, and havent had a complaint about any of the meat choices Ive put inside. You can watch the whole burrito making from the line, like many other burrito joints. Definitely great taste and value, and cant recommend it highly enough.

We were in Seattle over spring break a week ago and we stumbled on this restaurant for dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious but what we are craving right now in Arizona are the Chile Rellenos - cheese and the Poquitos Punch. They were so good. We went back at lunch one day and they did not have them but we ordered a sandwich that was also heavenly. The rich red sauce they serve with some of their dishes is divine. I lived in Santa Fe NM for 10 years and the food at Poquitos is fantastic. We highly recommend it. We tried to figure out how we could go one more time before we left for the airport but would have missed our flight - but we thought about it.

Amen, guacamole! Jim and Deming hit another home run with Poquitos. Similar to the design and approach to their first big hit (Bastille in Ballard), Poquitos shines like a big, sliver star atop Capitol Hill. Who ever heard of being served more (fresh and bright green) guacamole than two people will ever finish? We also ordered roasted corn, spicy prawns, with the obligatory rice and beans - all of it was terrific. The only reason I am not giving The Big P a 5 star rating? Our fabulous margaritas took faaar too long to get to us...must hire more bartenders. Overall, this restaurant is a "must do."

This is a great Tex Mex restaurant located on Capital Hill. There is a full bar and a 21+ only indoor patio that is a neat place to sit. For families or people under 21, the main restaurant in front is for you. The tortillas, salsa and guac are constantly being made and are really good. Happy hour has great prices and a good selection. The kids food comes on a heavy glass tv tray looking dish and includes the main entree with rice and beans. My favorite dish are the yam tacos and they can be found on the happy hour menu by themselves (3) or the dinner menu served with rice and beans.

Note: we never got to eat. Well, theyre new but with prices and decor like theyve got Id expected an experienced host staff. Instead, after a stilled conversation with the hostess, two of us were added to the list with two groups of two ahead. Both were seated quickly without reservations. Twenty minutes and many clear tables later we checked in and were told, for the first time yet, that itd be an hour and a half more even though there were only two reservations all night. When i suggested they mention such unusually long waits to walk in customers, the hostess just looked stunned.

The waiter we had was awesome & very polite! Never got his name, but he has curly hair & a beard. My receipt says "Server: A1". I always judge a Mexican restaurant based on how their rice & beans taste. If they cant make rice & beans, typically nothing else on the menu taste great. Poquitos rice & beans were spot on! Im from San Diego & the locals there always tell me Mexican food outside of Southern California just isnt the same. Poquitos is definitely different from what Im used to in San Diego, but the food tasted great. In the end thats all that matters.
