I go here once a year with friends because of PAX (Penny Arcade Expo). I travel from Oak Harbor to Seattle, a 2-2.5hr drive depending on traffic. Its a short walk from the Convention Center and every time I go here, the service is great, cheerful staff, the food and drinks are amazing. Friends and I yesterday afternoon had agree its a great place to eat every time we go to PAX. The food comes in quick and hot. The Applewood Salmon Club that I had this time was amazing. Service is just great each time I come here. The moment we ordered our beer its at our table a couple mins later despite each time coming to a convention day. Our waiter was prompt and easy to talk to and joke with. Outside wasnt available for us to sit because of the hotel doing construction. The only downside I will have to say about this year is that our beers were a little watered down. Especially my buddy who ordered the Guiness. My sister joked about that even she cant get drunk off of that because of how watered down his beer is.

We were in town for a business trip, unfortunately we found that a lot of places downtown close early so we stumbled upon the elephant and the castle. Had a nice experience at first, then the bartender proceeded to tell us that last call was at mid night which is fine, we completely understood that. Around 1145 he proceeded to take peoples drinks from them and say it was the law he close at exactly 12am. He was showing obvious frustration towards us questioning whether we could finish our bottle of wine we had already paid for. A couple walked out of the bar with half a bottle of wine still left, they had obviously felt so uncomfortable with the pressure to "BE GONE" that they left. Its unfortunate people feel this way after spending the money on drinks that they are not allowed to finish and are so rudely forced out the door. Will never recommend this place or go back due to the awful forcefullness of the bartender.

Pass. Unless you like a little mediocre food with your grease. We got to our hotel (The Red Lion, this is in the basement) late, and I was super hungry, so we just headed downstairs to make it easy. The service was OK, the place was noisy (good for grumpy whiny kids) and the food came fairly quickly for how busy it was. The fries (chips) were terrible tasteless things that had been fried too long. The french dip was decent, but how do you mess something like that up? The kids dinners were pretty greasy, though they didnt seem to mind. After dinner, I went back because I lost my lip balm (not a huge deal, I just didnt have any other with me) and the waitress refused to go check the floor at the table for it. Overall, the place just annoyed me.

I would love to write a review on the food and brew but I didnt even have the chance. I walked in at 11:50 p.m. and the waitress smiled at me as I did so. I took a seat at the bar and she disappeared. The bartender did too. Ten minutes passed, and finally the bartender came back out to tell me they close down at midnight. I told him I had been there for ten minutes and he then came up with some bull $hit excuse that last call was 11:30. What a lazy a$$ bar with lazy a$$ people working there. I was ready to spend $20 easy and be in and out. This place is pathetic. The servers are crap. Dont waste your time. Go to the Taproom instead. Its nearby (less than a block) at 6th ave and Pike.

Quality and service take a backseat to simple economics in this English Bar! I ordered a beer just to watch the bartender pull a previously poured mug out from the mini fridge under the bar. He proceeded to pour a few ounces out and freshen the head! After I questioned the bartender, he responded that he didnt want to be wasteful, so as routine, the bartenders save their mistakes to reuse later. Clearly no standards or quality in this establishment. Needless to say I had him pour me a fresh one. I didnt try the food, but If the kitchen is run like the bar, stomach beware! Make sure you watch them pour your beer or just get a bottle! Dive bars have higher standards.

Terrible service today. No greeting from server for over 5 minutes, left at 13 minutes when we still didnt have drinks with the restaurant about 25% full (mostly empty). Hostess didnt seat us where we wanted or work to accommodate us otherwise. Shes young, will be better with customer service in time but today was as bad a service as weve had in over a year anywhere. Paid for drinks we didnt even stay to finish, left very disappointed. Should have been a much better experience in a slow period middle of the holiday season. Customer service... not there on this day. Try Rock Bottom Brewery 1 block away. Much much better. Ugh. Thanks for ruining an afternoon Elephant.

Service was very slow even though not many people in the restaurant. I was seated at my table but it took a very long time before waiter came to take my order. Another table sat down after me and received their food before me. When my order arrived it looked very good. Bad thing is mashed potatoes were luke warm almost cold, Salmon seemed to be reheated and overcooked and the sauce that was put on the spinach was very salty. Waiter never came by to ask me if everything was ok with my order. I ordered a second Ginger Ale and watched it sit at the bar for 10 mins before waiter brought it to me. Staff seemed friendly but inattentive.

My husband and I came here Sunday the 28th at about 3 pm. We were taking a break for food from working the PAX convention. E&C was pretty empty, and the hostess sat us down immediately. We looked over the menu and waited for our waiter or waitress to ask for drinks/food order. No one came. After about 20 min of waiting and having a waitress (with a lovely tattoo on her left arm of a lady) walk by multiple times and never ask if we need anything, we went back to the hostess and asked for service. She apologized and said shed go get Kelly. After another 5 min of no service we left and went to another place.

They were "out" of Boddingtons on draft although it was a staple on the bar menu and a staple of any British pub. After asking I was told all the vegetables are frozen not fresh, so I stayed away from most of the menu since they all offered green beans as an part of the entrees. I did order the fish and chips, fish was great, chips were over seasoned with something similar to Lawrys seasoned salt (definitely un-British). Pretty much the only redeeming factor was nice atmosphere. With all the places to eat in Seatlle, would not go back. Nor would I seek out another chain location when traveling.

位在Motif Seattle 大樓地下室,從飯店外就可以進餐廳。附有酒吧,應該是西雅圖唯一營業到深夜的店,堆疊的玉米片是我吃過最棒的,服務人員也很親切,一直來關心

The service and beer here are great! Although, the food is alright. We werent fans of the spinach dip as it was more of a zesty vegetable mix. The original poutine was good! The fried pickles on the otherhand was a disappointment. They were more of a small thin slice off of a pickle and mostly breading. I would certainly come back and try something else.
