This place is great but the service was terrible! I took some of my friends there for some beer and food on a moderately busy Friday night. We arrived in time to order food and were seated. The rest of our party arrives and the doorman swoops in to ID, thats fine. After the doorman ID our friend the waitress completely ingnored our table. No more bar drinks, no water refils and we are sitting at the table hungry for another 35 minutes before the wairess comes over and tells us she cant place our food orders because the kitchen just closed. We were on time! She got pretty huffy with the group when we wanted our check because we could eat at the caterbury and proceeds to claim that we were only complaining to get free beer. I just wanted to pay for the beer and eat some food. Horrible experience, but a great pub. I can only hope that she was just a bad apple.

We had a large group here for a friends birthday, and our experience was excellent thanks to our server Tina. She was always coming by and making sure we had drinks, and clearing glasses. She split up our bills with ease and there were no complications with incorrect amounts/tabs, etc. (and for the size of our group, about 20 people, thats not an easy thing to do!). Not to mention she has awesome hair. I like the atmosphere a lot, and its nice in the summer because they open up the windows and garage-style doors in the front. Theres plenty to do, and they have not only a great beer list, but a good variety of cocktails as well.

I really liked this place because the first time I ordered food I got the steak dinner thats advertised to come with this cilantro chimmichuri sauce which honestly makes the steak. I ordered this through uber eats and even called the restaurant to make sure they included this since the last time they forgot. They forgot again. I called back and the manager was super rude and at first offered to drive it to me until she realized that was "too far" and then offered a gift certificate and then took back her offer and said to have uber eats deal with it. So the service is awful. Lost a customer who already ordered 3 times.

I was there the other night watching the game. As usual it was a good time, comfortable, good booze, relaxed. The next day I realized I lost something really important. On a whim, I called the bar and spoke to Aaron. I described the item and he went on a twenty minute odyssey through the corners, cracks and crevices of the bar. This man, this magical awesome dude found it. I cant believe he found it. He saved my job and my sanity. Great place, great staff, a fine dive. THANK YOU AARON!!!!!

I had a great time 1/14 watching the Seahawks, they lost, but the service & food were A1! The only thing better was our server Katy, she was Awesome, Pleasant, Fun and really made my friend and I have an Excellent experience. I highly recommend it; I used to be an Exec.Sous Chef at a 4*casino restaurant in California. Michael.

Every tuesday night 8:30-midnight, Capitol Hill Go Club plays to the best of our ability. The ancient game of greed, anger, fear, and sadness requires a healthy dose of self irony. We want to help you get started. Borrow a board or bring your own. Take as big a handicap as you like. Oh, and the drinks are really cheap.

The bartender sucked. I ordered a beer and she put a drink in front of me. Drank a sip and realized it was a cider. Then she walked up with my beer and said "you werent supposed to drink that" like it was somehow my fault. She charged me for both (order a Rainier and pay for that plus a $8.50 cider I didnt order??). Lame.

Pretty fun Cap Hill bar! More chill and less crowded than any of the spots around Pike/Pine. Drinks arent too pricey and theres usually not too long of a wait for shuffleboard or darts. They have specials every night and the Geeks Who Drink trivia on Wednesday is pretty fun. They also have a pretty good brunch!

Service makes sure you are accommodated properly. Plenty of seating. Street parking, usually not hard to get a spot on a week day. Biggest gripe is the 15 dollar cover charge for UFC events. I (as Im sure you) would gladly spend that 15 on drinks or food as well but it is a hassle at the door without return.

Newly remodeled, you did a fantastic job! love the open bar space too! must say I was pleasantly surprised when I received quick service at the bar, just to be reprimanded by the friendly waitresses that she can help me too. if you remember this place as the dump it was it is now time to try it again.

Ive been coming here for years, and I have to say, I really love the remodel. The place used to be a real dive, but got reorganized and thankfully changed its old greasy spoon menu. Its a great place for groups or to watch the game. Very affordable and has an awesome brunch!

Walked in with 2 others looking for lunch. No staff visible. Sat down. No menus. Went to the bar to ask for a menu. No menus, one bar person busy mixing drinks 3 miles away at the other end of the bar. We walked out again and went to a place two doors down.

It has become our Monday afternoon tradition to stop in here for the burger and an afternoon cocktail( or two) . Heidi is our main reason to keep coming back. The food is a close second to her. Actually almost everything weve had on the menu is a sure hit.

This place is amazing. The atmosphere as consistent as it is rich (very), the service is exceptional, the music was the perfect volume for talking over, and there are numerous little nooks for small-to-medium sized hangout groups.

The new Canterbury is nothing like the neighborhood pub we all knew and loved. Its a dismal frat boy hangout now, complete with a vomit inducing joke of a menu full of bone marrow and a TV on every wall. Utterly awful.

The place lost some of its dingy charm since the 2014 remodel but it still retains its tall ceilings and various spaces to hang out. Theres a lot of TVs here so its great for a sports event.

While the "new" Canterbury is different, I appreciate that it is locally owned and theyve tried to become a good neighbor and part of the community. And the charred broccolini is delicious!

I stopped in to pick up some lunch to go and came out with this giant Club sandwich. Its amazing and they did not skimp on the bacon. Friendly bartender and good happy hour beer as well.

A nice break from some of the more overpriced/overcrowded spots in Capitol Hill. Always enjoy trivia nights (and winning) and having a quick pint with a friend at Canterbury!

Old School Seattle. Canterbury is a throwback to simpler times. Unpretentious and relaxed. There are not many places like Canterbury left in Seattle.

Trivia night is a busy night so I give the wait staff some wiggle room and suggest you do the same. Overall, a decent place to grab a burger and a beer.

Decent place with good food selection and beer, but we had very poor service all night and pretty much had to order all drinks and food at the bar.
