I am from the Tri-State area, so I love me a good deli. Delicatus was referred to me by a coworker, so I checked it out today for lunch. The food wasnt horrible, but for the $16 I paid, I hoped for better. I ordered the chowder which was good, but tiny for $4; the club which was meh, had no cheese and most of the chips on my plate were crushed bits, for $9; and a warm Mexican Coke for $2, add tax, its $16ish. The inside was fun and busy, with a long full liquor bar in the back and balcony seating above. Cool place for a date maybe, but our 30-minute business lunch turned into almost an hour because one of the people, in our party of 3, didnt get his sandwich until 15 minutes after we got ours. When he finally went down to the counter to ask "whats up?" He got a snide remark from the cute girl working the register "Were all about timing here, so sometimes you have to wait!" Uh, what? She should be a used car salesman, shoveling that BS. The other person in our party ordered a California something club sandwich. They forgot the sprouts, so, it was pretty much just a club like mine. One last thing: We got there at noon and they were already out of salmon, tuna fish, and wheat bread. Probably not their fault (cant control the delivery man sometimes). Ill give it another shot as it wasnt a totally miserable experience AND they are right across from my office.

Went with a group of about 7. We were seated and served fairly quickly though the restaurant was quite busy (early afternoon). The beer was fine and temperature acceptably cold (dont recall the beer exactly but was an ale). I ordered the Pavo Diablo because I love hickory smoked turkey. But when I sank my teeth into the sandwich I go mostly a taste of mushy ingredients made so by soggy sourdough. The ingredients seemed fresh and crisp enough but could not overcome the bread. Its sourdough but come on...why dont you serve it on a baguette or crisp that bread beforehand so the sandwich stays together without disintegrating into a mushy mess. The service was good and the cheques were correct but could not overcome the bread problem. In fact, the sandwich was so bad I would not return except maybe for a happy hour though there are many other places I would go to first for that. The only reason this gets 2 stars is the beer temperature and the quality of service overall.

We had a large party and one of my friends brought food from outside and the manager (I think) essentially yelled at him and was fuming all over the place. My friend would have gladly put it away and eaten later, but the guy was incredibly rude considering the large amount of business. Plus, the sandwiches are just okay and definitely overpriced. Never going back there again. Ive been to many sandwich places that are much better and I have never been to a restaurant where I was treated so rudely (and I have been to hundreds and hundreds of restaurants). In fact, I have started this account because this place was so awful. There are maybe only 10 places I have ever eaten at that I would give 1 star. This I would give no stars if I could. And to be honest, I feel like this is a super kind review.

Sandwich: Pavo Diablo "Devil Turkey" Evening Plate: Sea scallops with white bean puree. Evening Plate #2: Add the sauteed chicken breast to the list of delicious evening plates. The peanut sauce was light and flavorful, all served on a bed of spinach leaves and steamed rice. Evening Plate #3: Delicatus Mad Hatcher "Hearty and tasty" The chicken was cooked perfectly. The yukon potatoes with bacon made a nice complement to the peppery chicken. Evening Plate #4: Shepherds Pie was delicious. I had the same dish at Fado a month ago. It tasted like a beef bouillon cube. The HP Sauce on the side was a nice touch. Pair Delicatus shepherds pie with an IPA. Good!

Wow. Truly the best sandwich place Ive been to. The Royal Bro-Ham was phenomenal. I wanted more. One of those is not enough. The red pesto (whatever its made of) with the arugula and the porchetta is a flavorful, absolutely delicious party in your mouth, a party you never want to end. I need to go back just for this sandwich. My husband had the Chief Stealth Bomber and the roast beef was perfect and they were generous with portion size. I truly love this place. Cant say enough good things about it. Just go and experience the wonderfulness yourself.

Ive lived in Pioneer Square for 3 years and Im confident that Delicatus has the best sandwiches for miles. Very friendly staff, amazing meats, great sauces, and a very comfortable atmosphere. You can also order any sandwich as a salad, which I highly recommend if you arent a huge bread fan (even though they have great bread). They really load the salads up with meat so you dont feel like youre getting gypped with just a bunch of lettuce. My favorites: The Fire of 1889 (must try) The Mudd Honey Pavo Diablo Highly recommend.

The customer service was terrible. They treated us like crap. Ignored us in line, brought out the food almost an hour later, were angry about their own mistakes. This place is seriously a joke. And for what? A very average sandwich that is slightly overpriced. They forgot the avioli on my friends sandwich and brought out an entirely wrong sandwich.Hands down one of the worst customer service experiences I have had in years. I doubt this company will stay in business long if this is par for the course going forward.

I probably eat here at least once a week and the food and staff are amazing every time! You cant go wrong with any of the sandwiches, but my favorites are the Mudd honey and the Pavo Diablo. If youre in the area for dinner, the chicken and dumplings dish is a win, ultimate comfort food and its always on their rotating menu. And dont forget to pick up their corn flake cookies on the way out, they are to die for!!!! One of the best cookies Ive ever had.

I have been here quite a bit, usually its pretty good. When they take the time to make the sandwich correctly and as described on the menu its great. Problem is thats becoming more and more rare. Too often its inconsistent and rushed. Typically the service is pretty good but can border on annoying at busier times. No matter how busy I expect my order to be taken correctly and entirely every single time.

No, its not Jimmy Johns. It will take a minute for your food to be brought out. However, youre going to get a gourmet sandwich out of the deal and one thats worth the price. I eat there on a weekly basis and love the Seattle Cure. The atmosphere is high class and at the same time very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Be sure to hit up this up and coming restaurant.

i think ive found my new sammich spot in pioneer square. ordered the special today which consisted of the following: black forest ham swiss cheese lettuce tomato pickled red onions dijonaise mustard (dijon mustard mixed with mayonnaise) great service, glass of water was always on full and the outdoor seating on a beautiful sunny day is not too shabby either. cant wait to come back again.
