I cam here late on a Thursday night with my Girlfriend. The two dishes we had were: 1. Butternut Squash Ravioli (3 out of 5) --> A simple dish, the noodle was excellent and the cheese stuffing gave a nice undertone. The sauce killed the dish. It was so salty my girlfriend had to order a glass of wine, well maybe it was just an excuse...) Also, the portion was very small, only 6 raviolis and we ended up grabbing a snack for her on the way home. 2. Pappardelle Bolognese (2 out of 5) --> I was very impressed with the noodles. Cooked perfectly and great flavor. Sadly, that was all I liked. The sauce was extremely salty, much more so than the ravioli. The meat was more of a fine mush and the sauce wasnt very robust. I expect a hearty sauce with chunks of meat and tomato and a hint of garlic. Overall, I give this place a 2 out of 5 which is disappointing given the reviews from everyone else. Maybe we came on a bad night, it was very busy with several birthday parties (gotta love a drunken rendition of happy birthday, or three). We might give it another chance, but itll be awhile before we go back.

Think thrice! before deciding to use this place for your evening plans. sub par for the ratings it has. Sevice was ok. my tiny water cup was filled up many many times. it hardly went empty. :) Honestly not very friendly service, you get more conversation/recomendation out of coffee drive through. Price vs portions, over priced. Flavour was there but no real explination of what it is I was eating. and they use more bacon(ish) in their food than I would have expected. I love bacon but for average plate price of 17.00 I can cook a lot of bacon myself at home. Mangement, I assume thats what he was, It flet like we were rushed our orders so they could kick us out and fill in more. our stay was about 2 - 2.5 hours. Sadly overall I felt like we were not valued as a customer at all. :-( I did enjoy the look and feel of the restaurant, the menu size was optimal, the wine list was wide ranged for all types of persons. i would go back if i new the service was improved. the service simply did not match the potential and expectations we had for the place.

I scheduled my birthday dinner here for five people. The manager or owner, I dont know what he was, had put two tables together. When one person cancelled, he said he needed the other table, so he reconfigured everything, hurriedly moving our water glasses, etc., to only one table and removing the extra table. I understand the economics, but it irritated me the water glasses were mixed up; we had to ask for different ones. But the REAL irritation was that they have kiddie-sized tables, not normal-sized four-tops. They really fit only two peoples plates, water/wine glasses, and food, but they crammed four place settings on the small table. It was miserable. And the place has no curtains or anything to absorb sound, so we had to almost yell to hear one another, despite sitting at a kiddie table. : ) The food was good, but good food abounds in Seattle, so we will not be back.

My 4th stop into Cantinetta and I finally got to visit their Bellveue location which is just as beautiful. Both spots have a warm feel with perfectly soft lighting. Everything on the menu is absolutely incredible, I couldnt stop laughing at the review below about salt content! (Nothing was oversalted at all, reconsider dining out perhaps?) All of the appetizers and pastas are so mindblowing, its hard to save room for entrees and those infamous nutella zeppoles, but you MUST!! My best suggestion is to go with a group and share. And dont miss the papardelle bolognese while is still on the menu!! PS - bonus, the open style kitchen lets you take a peek at the magic of your food preparation, and say hi to the chef and cooks! Theyre very friendly!!

I had high hopes for the place and it is cute with good atmosphere. It really reminded of small European restaurants off the main street. Staff was nice and attentive. Unfortunately the food was not that good and way overpriced. The house red wine was just bad. Olive oil served with our stale bread was not fresh. Menu items were underwhelming. My wife had a vegetarian risotto (corn and blue berries for $18) that would have been good for an $6 oatmeal breakfast but not a dinner item at that price. I had the spinach ravioli. The ingredients were good but didnt go together. The only good item was Salmon crudo which even used excellent olive oil. I dont think I will go back unless they get a new chef and take their food seriously.

Really great polenta and attentive service. They were out of a few menu options Id have liked to try, but I respect the fact that the best produce is still seasonal. The butternut sqash soup was rich and yummy, spiraled w some sort of balsamic preparation. The arugula pear salad is light on pears and heavy on arugala. Nobody needs a full dinner plate piled high w/ peppery ass arugala. And I like the green, generally speaking. The Polenta, again, was to die for! The ambiance has a kind of cool, pseudo-casual, Wallingford-esque vibe. Id call it casual fine dining. Free streetside parking is widely available within a couple blocks

We had a wonderful experience at Cantinetta on Fathers Day. The burrata with grilled stone fruit was amazing, the pasta was done to perfection and the salmon was outstanding. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant...not to mention our server was a true professional. Honestly, I dont want to write a review for fear that more people will start going here and we wont be able to get a table. :)

I went to Cantinetta Bellevue and loved the atmostphere. Felt just like a Trattoria in Italy. Everything we had was amazing, I highly reccomend the Roasted Beet Ravioli and Nutella Zeppole. Good, affordable wine selection as well. Portions were pretty small for the American restaurant world, but they were filling enough and didnt make you feel like you were going to explode when you left.

Pros: Good bread + good wine. Panchetta wrapped dates were quite impressive. Cons: Ravioli (with beets) was flavorless. Other pasta dish ordered (not listed online) was only decent. Portions were underwhelming (and not rich enough to be filling). Servers mistake pretension for professionalism. Overall, for the price you can do much better elsewhere.

Salmon crudo was beyond words. This restaurant feels like a cozy Tuscan pasta bar in a vineyard in the NW. Truly fresh ingredients and a casual-yet-attentive vibe from the staff. Amazing fresh-made pasta. Comfortable wood interior with a mildly medieval vibe and outdoor seating in a great spot in Wallingford.

Its loud, its dark, the tables are small but the servers are lovely and food is great. The tartare and tagliatelle were my favorites out of all the things on that was on our the prefix dinner menu. The scallops were also exceptional. Our rum cake dessert was perfect.

The food is mediocre at best. The wait staff and hostess were lovely although I hear the employee turnover is constant -- perhaps because the owner is known to withhold earnings from his hardworking staff. Better off grabbing a sandwich at the local coffee shop.
