Some of the best pizza Ive had here since coming to San Jose last summer. We ordered the garden pizza large and split it between myself, husband, and daughter plus she had spaghetti and meatballs on kids menu. Also had the bruschetta appetizer and I like it better than Paxtis and my husband liked it equally the same. It was $9 and only four pieces served, we could have done without it. It was way too much food! Pizza took about 35 minutes to arrive and was all fresh ingredients with rectangle type shape pre-cut for you and served. Pizza is on the chewy side, not crunchy. I didnt try my daughters spaghetti and meatballs ($5) but she ate almost all if it and could only take a bite of pizza just to try it. The meatballs were huge and sauce was light colored almost like a Vodka sauce. Our waiter was very professional and attentive and the place was very busy, even for a Friday evening. Our bill before tip came to almost $60 and it was worth it! Overall, we will be back and look forward to smelling those delectable aromas you take in as soon as you walk in the door! We will likely skip on appetizer and kids meal to shave off unnecessary spending and just not for a large pizza to share instead!

Lunch portion spaghetti and meatballs contained 1.5 medium-small meatballs. Thats right, one of my two meatballs had been cut in half. For $10, I was expecting a hearty plate of pasta. I received a smallish cereal-bowl, about three forks-full of pasta with only 1.5 meatballs. The flavor and texture of the pasta, sauce, and meat were about average, not bad but nothing special. The caesar salad was good, just the right size and fresh. It came with optional anchovies, a good thing as I would have left protein-deficient after the absurd presentation of the 1.5 meatballs. The restaurant is open, clean, and pleasant with a KFOG-esque soundtrack that teases ones expectations of Sinatra and tarantellas. My waitress was very professional. The menu seems geared toward young women, an impression borne out in the face of the minuscule 1.5 meatballs. Assuming the controlling interests of Tomatina are well-meaning foodies who would be astonished at my criticism (and not penny-pinching meat-misers who order ball-halving with an executioners glee), I wish to tell them that their price point and quality demand a serving of pasta twice as large with at least six nice, round, whole meatballs.

One of the few places that serves anchovies with their Caesar salad. =9 Ill probably be back just for that! We came on a Monday night and I wish we had taken advantage of the $3 desserts (Monday special). Maybe next time. We walked in around 5:30 and there were a few tables seated. As we ate more people came in but it never got full to the point that there was a wait at the door. Lots of parking available as well. Service was really good up until we were finished eating. Then it took forever for them to come back with dessert menus so we ended up just asking for the check, which also took a while. Odd since the restaurant wasnt that full. Very friendly service though!

Tomatina offers an excellent selection of typical pasta, pizza and other Italian choices. This is definitely one of the better basica Italian restaurants in the area. Ingredients taste fresh and portions are not overwhelmingly heavy. They also offer a surprisingly decent cocktail menu and they make decent drinks. The restaurant itself is fairly large but can be crowded at peak times. Overall it has a modern casual ambience. Prices are are fairly moderate. Parking can be a concern since it is shared with a rather compact shopping center. Overall a very compelling choice for basic Italian food in an easy location.

Decent food, but not outstanding. But sloooooow service. We sat at the bar and watched every take out order get lost, take forever, or need correction. The staff was way too jovial for this level of service. They really shouldnt be slapping each other on the back or not paying full attention to their customers when they arent clicking on all cylinders. The chains management should step in at this location for corrective action at this location.

I need to start by saying that I was born and raised in Italy, therefore my expectations from a restaurant like this are pretty low. I tried the chicken pickata and it was OK. The chicken was well cooked and moist. The sauce was tasty; my guess: Italian dressing, capers, and a touch of butter. The grilled veggies looked tired but werent overcooked, the pasta side was overcooked.

Somewhat overpriced. Came just for arancini, but learned they are only available for weekday happy hour. $7.75 for flat Prosecco (which they happily replaced), $7.50 for caesar salad of lettuce with a few stale croutons. Chicken picatta was moist and a generous portion. Calamari was OK, not great. Service was good, but rather disengaged. We probably wont be back.

Watched the Warriors game at the bar last Thursday and had a great experience. Bartender and restaurant manager were busy but very attentive. Had their special and as a started with broccoli/cauliflower roasted veggies, very good. Overall, great service and great food. Only recommendation is a larger wine list.

Great food! The vegetarian spaghetti with marinara sauce was delicious! The portions were just right, but the prices are a bit high (for takeout). When my order was taken wrong, they were quick to fix it, and very courteous and professional. Ill definitely be back. Thanks!

Good food but very bad service. I asked for a slice of lemon for the water twice separately, two servers took my order, but they never bring me the lemon. They were not busy, but the servers did not take it serious to serve. Sigh...Im not asking a lemon tree.

Bright calm atmosphere, very good espresso, less people, amazingly tasty food !!! We used to come in "cheesecake factory", but after "Tomatina" we just realised how much better it is than our experience in "cheesecake factory" was.

Their piadine is great. The size was enough to share with my wife and still feel full afterwards. We ordered the gorgonzola one, but couldnt taste it at all. Other than that, a good option for two, if youre into sharing the dish.

Meh pizza, overpriced. Theres a reason why its empty on a sunday at lunch and Boudin next door is overflowing. Kids meal is decent, but not great either. Would skip.

Had the pizza for the first time and it was very good. Excellent sausage, the diced tomatoes were tasty, but not too sweet, artisanal crust was hearty, but not burnt.

I love going Tuesday night, wine bottles are half off, seating in the bar is the best spot, Ramon the bartender is fun and attentive, good service all around.

Great service, relaxing atmosphere, much better quality of food than the typical OG Italian variety. Nice place to bring your kids, including younger ones.

Food is definitely good value and we love sitting at the bar to converse with the bartenders and guests. One of our go-to neighborhood restaurants.

Small local chain of Italian-ish restaurants. Decent food at reasonable prices, decent if limited cocktails, and a pretty good wine list.

Piadines chicken had an off-taste, so I didnt feel like going again, though I love woodfired kind of hand made pizzas and flatbreads.
