On July 19 planned to have dinner and was 1/hr wait to get a table which I did and finally hostess sat me. No one handed me a menu, only thing waterman served water and bread. Waited, waited and waited for a menu while seeing the waitresses tending to all tables around mine except me and even folks who got in after me were eating. 1/2 hr later after finishing 2 glasses of water and all bread I asked waterman who was ready to serve like the third glass of water to call the manager but he said he was not in at the moment, so he called the hostess who apologized and said how sorry she was but stated when they see a customer with no menu on hand their rule was to assume they already ordered and food was on the way, she apologized again but I was so irritated I had to leave. Whoever heard a restaurant assumes customers with no menus on their tables means they have ordered already? no one ever asked me how I was doing. Their food may be great which I never got to try but their service is terrible and staff are space heads. The least hostess could have said was salad is on them, or waitress serving around my table follow up with me. Customers beware: no menu on hand? better ask for one or they assume you have ordered food.

I ordered spinach ravioli and mushroom pizza. Both were just average. Spinach ravioli : I thought it is store bought just dipped in some tomato sauce mixed with cream. Under cooked, not at all fresh. the shell was hard and even the filling was chewy. Mushroom pizza : The size was small. Not at all hand tossed. Felt like you are eating some cheap pizza from a side shop. neither the presentation was nice. My husband confirmed with waitress that he can bring his birthday cake. as soon as he was about to cut the cake the waitress came in and said it is extra $10. No one bothered to ask for a desert. Overall bad experience.

This place will not disappoint. We showed up for a late dinner. We were told it would be about a 45min. wait for a table. We got a table sooner because some people left. The food was better than you would get at a expensive restaurant. The wait staff was friendly and took very good care of my group. I ordered the Penne with Roasted Bell Pepper Pesto and I was blown away. It was so flavorful and the portions were probably enough for two but it was too good to share. I can see why this place has been around for so long. I definitely want to go back the next time Im in town.

I went for birthday dinner w my boyfriend. Its a tiny place only able to seat about 40 people at a time. I had the special which was scallops and shrimp w penne in a tomato cream sauce. The mixed salad was a good size to share w homemade vinegarette w is also served alongside Columbia City Bakery bread. Dessert was a perfectly executed cheesecake w vanilla bean and an extra layer of cream on top. The service is fantastic w other servers besides our main one checking on us throughout the meal.

Everything we had was really delicious, and obviously made fresh with good ingredients. They had plenty of friendly waitresses who frequently were checking to make sure everyone had what they needed. Their gnocchi was light and fluffy and came with a killer red sauce. Their lasagna was pretty good, though I would probably give it 3 or 4 stars. Their Cesar salad was perfect, and so was the bread. Id say this is a 4.5 stars on food and a 5 on service for sure.

When you go out, you pay a premium to have great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. With my background in quality control, compliance, and client relations, in extremely picky. Joe, the bartender met and exceeded my high expectations. The restaurant was wonderful but Joes customer relations and service left an impression that I havent experienced for some time. Thanks!

I have been going to Machiavelli for the past 6 years and it has never failed me. If you go a little early you dont have to wait but the wait is worth it. The service is top notch and the pasta, bread with the perfect combination of oil and balsamic is amazing. It has to be one of my favorite restaurants ever.

One of the coziest restaurants in Seattle. Feels very romantic and friendly. I often see staff and customers talking on a first name basis. Pretty small and tight and youll probably have a wait before being seated but its worth it for sure. Lots of great options on the menu and the best atmosphere around.

Cost is for 2 dishes 2 desert and 2 coffee. As well as 1/2 carafe of house wine (good) The only bad part was the portions were small but wine and dessert made up for that. Cost was great and it can get a little noisy and wait times can get long. Super fast service and great wait and kitchen staff. 8/10

I dont like Italian very much but this place is great!! The place and seating is a little cramped but one Should go here for the food. The sauce was perfectly tasty, gnochi was yum and the prawns cooked perfectly. Everything was cooked aldante and coated with the yummy sauce. Loved it !!

Mixed emotions as my chicken quesadilla was delicious but my friends cheese quesadilla was soggy. Cheese enchilada tasted like cheap cheese and my friend are a few bites only barely but server didnt even notice that when he cleared the plates to acknowledge it. Service very slow.

Great food and friendly staff that is always very welcoming when ever we go. We have been going here for over 10 years now and I feel part of the Macks family. If you havent been you must try it. Best time to go is close to when they open or you will find yourself waiting.

Every time I am in Seattle for business, I like this restaurant for its food, service , and location. The menu is simple, but covers all the basics. However, they do their basics well. Staff is quick and cordial. The food is good. Strongly recommend getting there early.

Seriously amazing Italian food. Ive been going here for nearly 15 years and am so glad it hasnt been swallowed by Capitol Hills development. You should definitely try the eggplant parmesan. Share stuff family style around the table. And dont miss the tuna carpaccio!!

とっても美味しいイタリアン。 残念なことは予約ができないお店なところ。 なので、開店時間に行くか、待つかになる。 いつも、地元民で混んでます。

Im extremely picky about Caesar Dressing. Machiavelli is authentic and delicious. Loved their lasagna and their Italian sausage special. Place is a little noisy with all hard surfaces and small dining area, but their food makes the place worth the noise.

Best Italian weve had in Seattle. Fresh pasta cooked al dente! The eggplant parmasan was exceptional! The gnocchi equally so! Ordering family style between 2 couples worked wonderfully as we all got to try several items. Well definately be back!

They totally screwed up our place on the list, causing us to wait an extra half hour to be seated. But they were totally great and apologetic about it, and the service was friendly and professional. The food is magnificent. Wonderful spot.
