Worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Ive been four times and each time has been worst than the last. 1st time it took 25 minutes to get my coffee even though their were on only 2 people ahead of me. And of course, when I got the coffee, it was made incorrectly and tasted terribly. Had similar experiences after that. The final time, I ordered a drink with some food, but they forgot to get me the drink. I went up to get one and found out theyd forgotten to charge me for it. The lady behind the counter was extremely rude about it and just stood there smirking. I offered to buy the drink, but didnt have cash and they were going to charge me extra money to use card. Wanted to charge me $3.50 for a soda because they couldnt keep my order straight. I will not be returning to this place again because of their poor customer service.

Customer service was very off-putting. I ordered a panini and a pastry to go from the nice gentleman taking orders, who was obviously new to the job. The pastry was given to me on a plate by the woman behind the coffee bar/pastry case. I asked for it to be in a bag, and she practically snatched it back, heavy sigh, and proceeded to yell at the guy taking orders about something on the ticket. She then tossed my pastry-in-a-bag on the counter and stalked off. This reaction to such a minor thing was so strange. After waiting another 15-20 minutes, I received my panini and left. I will not be back.

I love the food and coffee here. Very good comfort food! Almost always too crowded to find a seat here, especially with a group. This place very consistently opens late. Their hours say 6:30 but if they arent open I walk to the Starbucks across the street to study - sometimes they dont open until 45 minutes later! There is a lack of professionalism, which I can at least understand in a college town, but still. Take more time to hire some employees who will be there on time and provide great service! Otherwise business will continue on to other great food options and coffee options in the area.

I think I just went into Cafe on the Ave for the last time today. Not only is there food overpriced for what you get, but the service is often obnoxious, and their policies are moronic. To put it simply, its not a good business. This morning was that last straw. They refused to warm up an overpriced pastry because "the manager told us we cant" and "its the kitchens microwave, not ours up front." Not the staffs fault in this case, just bad management. Almost any other cafe or restaurant on the ave is more reasonable and more friendly. Ditch this hole.

The soups are really good, an overall the rest of the food is good. The one exception is the mozzarella cheese sticks. They used to have amazing mozzarella cheese sticks. Now they have the worst Ive ever tasted in my life. I could barely choke it down. The cheese sticks are now really thick and, although crispy, they are terrible. The cheese doesnt melt at all, there is too much cheese for the amount of breading, and there arent any spices in the breading any more. I really hope that some day they go back to what they had before because it was awesome.

This is a busy place full of students studying. The copious numbers of electrical outlets are almost always taken. They serve a lot of food here. Its decent food, and slightly on the expensive side. Their coffee is good. Their servers are generally students who expect to be moving on to bigger and better things in a few years. Theyre conscientious and pleasant, but they dont have an air of ownership and professionalism. Of course, not many places have that, and at least the servers at Caffe on the Ave do not act like theyre unhappy to be there.

Incredible coffee, and ok food cant make up for their poor customer service. They lost a longtime regular customer this morning after too many instances of poor customer service. They used to have a great person in the morning, but since mid summer 2015 they have a new girl who hates life and wants to spread her lack of cheer through poor customer service. I went to their website and could not find an email address to share this feedback. The customer service is wow, poor. Go somewhere else.

I came here a few times during my freshman year at UW because it was close to my dorm. I ordered a peppermint mocha once and they called it a grasshopper. Pretty unique, stuck with me. The first time I went, I ordered a mango smoothie. It was alright. Theres free wifi if you get something because the wifi password is on the receipt. So you can either buy something or mooch off your friends receipt. Not many outlets to plug in your computer, though. And it can get crowded and loud.

It took 1 hour 7 mins for them to bring a simple dish. By the time it reached the table, most of the food was cold except for the eggs which was luke warm. It shouldnt have taken so long for basic toast, scrambled eggs and hash browns. We came here for breakfast and got it by lunch. We had to ask them a few times if our order was coming and they kept saying it was coming "right now" however we still had to wait quite a while after that claim. Food not worth paying for the wait.

Yes, yes, yes, the coffee here really is that good. A really beautiful minimal space to look around while you wait in line and you will be waiting in line. Stow all the hate for everything hipster, its not their fault that this coffee is that great. The roasted aroma alone is a great appetizer to a truly exceptionally crafted latte. I got mine with soy milk and it still came out frothy with some art on top. Sidewalk bar seating with a hot cup of coffee. Tops for sure.

Manager whos name is Song harasses me every time with a menu to find out if Ive bought anything. This happens regardless of whether Ive already purchased food and am just hanging out doing work or Ive just arrived. Asked him if he asks everyone whether theyve ordered food, and he says he does. However, Ive seen patrons come in with bags of food from other restaurants, BAGS of food. They sit, eat peacefully, and walk back out. He doesnt utter a word to them.

Customer service here isnt great - very slow, and the staff member taking my order seemed a bit confused even though I wasnt requesting anything unusual. However, the coffee is decent and the pastries are pretty good too. However, this place is always crazy crowded and its hard to get work done. All in all, Ill probably opt for the Starbucks across the street next time.

The worst experience ever!!!!! The worst customer service. I was the first customer this morning. They were late. Did not say hello, no smile, did not apologize. She said, "could you move away, I have to put signs outside" woow!!!!! I would let people get inside and tell them sorry, give me a minute and Ill get back to you. Then she refused to serve me))) wtf

If I could give 0, I would. Ever since the manager is changed, it went downhill. I waited for a breakfast burrito for 40min and it wasnt even that busy. And when it came out it was cold on the inside. My friends and I used to come here almost everyday but no. Not anymore. Very disappointed to see one of my (previous) favorite place on the ave to go.
