The first couple times I ate at Lost Lake I was amazed at how good the food was! I was bragging so much about this place! I moved my brother here and told him when I take him to explore the city, we HAVE to go to Lost Lake! We get there and immediately I caught a negative vibe. They were barley busy and we just stood at the front of the cafe waiting for someone to help us. Finally a guy came up to us and told us we could sit anywhere but where we sat he had to "check on it" but we were told we could stay seated there. For a place to open 24 hours you would think they would have whats on the menu in stock. NOPE! I order a 16oz PBR, sorry we only have 12oz cans. Told the server it was fine but what she tried to do is pour the 12oz in a glass and charge me for a 16oz but I told her Id rather have the can. My brother ordered tenders and fries and I order fish and chips (what I had before that was so amazing.) The food came out and the server said to my brother "I hope you can share some of your fries with him because we just ran out" so instead of her telling me they ran out of fries BEFOREHAND she brings out my plate with two burnt pieces of fish and some tater tots that were definitely freezer burnt. I know how the quality of acceptable food should look, taste, and smell due to the fact I was raised with two chefs and I worked as one for a few places including corporate for The Marriott. I sat there and didnt touch my food for 10 minutes and the server comes back with another piece of burnt fish and said "we didnt feel like that was enough." I completely appreciate how they were attempting to accommodate me but if youre going to do that make sure its with quality because customer service is the NUMBER ONE key to keeping a business. I paid the bill without confrontation and left. This business lost two customers and I highly doubt they would care anyway. I also know why our service was so bad but I wont state that here. Sorry Lost Lake for such a not so good review but you guys should treat all your customers the same because someone at the bar order exactly what I had AFTER me and got quality food. Whats up with that?

Lost Lake just opened on Cap Hill and seems really nice! The food is fair priced and the place is open 24 hours a day! No complaints there. The wait is usually long but this is bearable during happy hour ($2.50 burger and fries!? Count me in!). Two weeks ago I went in with a friend for breakfast and we ordered an entree and coffee for ourselves. A couple days later I noticed that for my $8.50 omelette and $2.25 coffee + tip, I had been charged $25.04. At first I had thought maybe I had paid for my friend as well, despite asking the waitress to split our order; however, I asked my friend if he had a charge to his card as well, and to his surprise, he had been charged $33+ for a crab cakes benedict and a coffee, so clearly they had not charged me for both meals. We both tipped $2 that day and it would appear that they had modified the amount we had tipped! An omelette, coffee, and tip, for whatever reason totaled $25+. We went in a couple days ago to try and talk to a manager about the mishap and had a very difficult time doing so. In fact, the manager wouldnt see us and instead had one of the waitresses take down our information and try to understand the situation. So far no effort has been made by any of the managerial staff to contact us, and the charges are still there on our cards! So be warned, pay with cash, or expect to be charged an exorbitant amount!

At a sit down restaurant, you should NEVER have to get up to find the waiters to fill your drink that youre paying for (it wasnt that busy for how many they had staffed). Instead of going to Oddfellows next store which I KNOW gives impeccable service and has amazing food, we decided to try this cute little spot since it had great reviews. It was a nice Saturday night (about 6 pm) it wasnt too busy and they had an outdoor seating area. The food was incredible, the service was terrible. We saw our waiter a total of three times? One of those was for a smoke break. The other two was bringing a menu, and taking our order. I hope in the future others dont experience this service (it took the table that sat behind me almost 10 minutes to get service, and they had to go find their own menus since everyone was MIA) because as much as Id love to come back solely for the food, service is just as big to me if not more important than the meal, and for that reason I have to leave this review. I hope for future customers you enhance your outdoor experience and better train your staff for the outdoor seating, because for a server to not once come out and check their tables is appalling, especially to those who are or have been in the industry as well.

I really enjoyed our meal at the Lost LaI ke Cafe, well made diner food in a retro environment with pleasant staff. My meal was a philly cheesesteak with onion rings and it was satisfying. Ive never been to Philadelphia so I cant make any comments on its authenticity but it was everything I wanted out of a cheesesteak. Toasted bun with the right amount of softness and crispy edges, beef was flavourful with caramelized onions and peppers all covered in slightly sleezy processed cheese. The onion rings were good for battered rings, not soggy or anything but Im more partial to breaded onion rings. For dessert I ordered the last slice of cherry pie to share with my wife, heated up and a la mode. They accidentally left it a little too long in the oven so the edges were a little burnt but our server was very apologetic about it. Normally hed have just grabbed another slice for us but since it was the last slice he wanted to still offer it. We still went for it and it was still delicious, just took off a burnt corner, and he was very generous with the ice cream. In the end he didnt even charge us for the pie! Really great service in my books. Id definitely think about going again the next time Im in Seattle and feeling like some diner food.

I love this place but I have to say that we had the worst service ever. Sat on the bar side for lunch. The bartender had maybe 2 tables and 7 or 8 people at the bar. He brought us our drinks and took our order and then literally never returned. When our food came, mine was missing part of it. I waited for the bartender to come back and never did. Our drinks were empty and he still never came. I got up and went up to the bar and he seemed genuinely apologetic. He said hed get the rest of the food and another round of drinks. Never came. The rest of my food finally came out (delivered by someone else) but by then I was finished. We sat and sat and sat. No drinks, no check, no nothing. All the while the bartender is socializing with friends at the bar. My friend finally got up to ask for the check and he had charged us for the 2nd round that never came. He said hed fix the check and then never came back. My friend is a better person than I because I would have walked out. But she went to the bar and paid. Another table next to us was having similar experience. This wont deter me from going back, but I wont sit on the bar side again.
