Adorable cafe in downtown FairFax. I came here after hiking and walking around Point Reyes Seashore. Id have to say this "Caffe" is more than that, its a cute adorable restaurant that has good food, good service, and is really unique in its building design and space layout. The building itself is of an octagonal shape, winding around to have a separate smaller room to the side of the main dining area. In the smaller side dining room, there was a piano and there were a couple musicians playing music. From where I was sitting in the main dining area, I was not able to hear the music, but I dont know if the restaurant intended for the music to be heard by everyone. There are also two wood burning fireplaces, one in the main dining area and another in the smaller side room, neither had a fire burning in them. I can only imagine how much it adds to the atmosphere of the restaurant when there is a fire burning. Probably pretty warm and cozy. There was a really long wait list when I arrived and there were customers waiting to put their name on the wait list too. The restaurant was packed out, as the owners of the restaurant were celebrating their 14th anniversary (I believe) of being in business! The way Sorellas is set up is a bit tight, but its okay because the vibe of the restaurant is fun. Its not quiet, its loud with a lot of hustle and bustle happening all around you, constantly. The seating area is a bit on the cramped side, with the tables positioned really close together, it is tight quarters. I dont know if the restaurant is decorated all year long as it was the evening I went, but it was definitely festive with the lighted ornament balls hanging from the window ledges and the light reflecting off the windows. There were also stain glass pieces hanging from the window ledges, spread sporadically throughout the restaurant, about every other window, intermittent with the lighted ball ornaments on the opposite window. Like I said, it was packed the evening I went, my wait was an hour before I was finally seated. The waiter came out with a huge carved parmesan, in which he gives you some of the shavings to go with the bread thats served. I ended up ordering, the spinach ravioli with pesto sauce instead of the tomato cream sauce, and it was really good. Because the restaurant was packed the evening I went, the servers while attentive, also seemed distracted. I did feel a little rushed, but it wasnt so bad. Parking for this restaurant appeared to mostly be all street parking, I only saw a tiny little parking lot to the side of the restaurant where there were only 5 spaces. There might have been another lot, but I wasnt aware. Parking wasnt too difficult the evening I went and it was a Saturday night. One of these days I would like to return to this cute, quaint restaurant.

Let me start off by saying this place was a PLEASANT SURPRISE! I am from NJ and an Italian family. I came out here for a road trip and didnt think it was possible to find decent, let alone, GREAT Italian food in cali. I was WRONG! From the complimentary hard Parmesan cheese from a wheel to the gnocchi to the live music, you name it, this place was ON POINT! Go try it for yourself! Made me feel a part of the small Fairfax community as an outsider. You will get the feeling of the town from Groundhog Day with Bill Murray.

Atmosphere was great and the fire was warm - loved the Parmesan chunks! However the grilled Pesche di Giorno was bland (snapper, I believe) and pasta was basically some watery red sauce spilled over slightly uncooked rigatoni - very uninspired. I enjoyed my experience, but IMHO not worth the money (maybe because Im an out of towner - but still).

Omg. I was already planning to come back before I had left the food is AWESOME! The space is cozy and friendly I knew I had to tip well for the very attentive and upbeat service. I had the prawns Alfredo I certainly would recommend this place. BTW the bread was just fine thank u and easy on the wallet #lovecheese.

This place has incredible pasta - some of the best in the bay area. Not to mention they do this cool thing with a block of fresh block of Parmesan cheese at the outset of the meal. Fantastic wine! I also hear they have good live music, though Ill have to return to find that out for myself.

Always warm friendly service, lovely open windows in summer. All the fresh parmigan cheese you can eat. Fun for kids. Try the butternut squash ravioli. And free gummy bears for desert. Tables are tight but still comfortable.

Been here many times. Everything Ive ordered has been awesome but my go-to for a few years has been the Pollo Ala Sorrella. Its pretty much perfect. And the Coconut Caramel Cream is insanity.

Its noisy here but in a good way. Like a really fun party, especially when the piano player is tickling the keys. Get the Pollo Picante for a light delight!
