I went a second time just to give it another chance. I dont rememeber what I ordered the first time, however this time around definitely is the last time around. I ordered a Coke, veggie tempura, (appetizer) , and the Sukiyaki soup. Additionally I got a miso soup as a complimentary starter. The tempura was ok , but there could have been more dough. Also the dipping sauce looked and tasted dead. Bland. In addition the Sukiyaki came out and it looked awful. The noodles alongside the side of rice was all I could stomach. The meat was too dry. It seemed the sauce was a lazily concocted mix of soy sauce and sweet sauce. Cabbage, carrots, and tofu added to the blandness. Despite the crappy meal, I gave a tip. Never again. Not worth $30.00!!!! Below is the picture of the lukewarm miso soup with the dirty spoon. Following that is the Sukiyaki soup. And the last dish has the dry meat, mushroom (Sukiyaki), and taro root? (veggie tempura) which I dont like. One of the most awkward lunches ever.

Went for a Friday night dinner. The staff is very friendly, but the place is a bit of a dive. All the menus and table placards are dirty. The food was ok, but it came out looking like sushi amature hour. For 4 rolls I ended up spending around $45 which is pretty steep for the mediocre presentation and ok quality. Was really hoping this restaurant would live up to the 4 star average review but I felt it fell short. I might check it out again sometime because the staff is so friendly, but I didnt have a great experience.

This traditional Japanese restaurant has to be the best of its kind in the area. Ive been going here for 20 years and have never been displeased. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for traditional Japanese, any negative comments on here I would assume are from people who expect Americanized food. The service is always top-notch, so if you want great food with fantastic service I wouldnt recommend any other place.

This place has a good menu variety and the quality was on par. The atmosphere was casual and the staff was friendly. Prices were also reasonable. I keep hoping for something to knock my socks off but the best places seem pretty standard like New Zen or they are terrible. Getting this kind of restaurant right must be exceptionally difficult.

Called in to do an order because of the star review but it was the worst food we have ever ever had.. least amount of food they didnt even fill the salad bowel half way And the chicken had fat through it.. what! Walmart chicken is better! I would score it 0 but it wont let me. I also had to pay 34$ for two chicken teriyaki orders! WTF

The service was incredible, the place is very clean and modern. Mid to Upscale feel to it with crazy reasonable prices. The quality to cost ratio was off the charts. I am so excited to have been taken here and cant wait to eat at New zen more.

Was surprised by food quality given their prices, service was slow and drinks were far from great, but comparing price to other nearby sushi places, was splendidly surprised. Ill go back for the fire Dragon roll alone

Sushi portions seemed small and expensive, seaweed was dried out and didnt wrap all the way around the rolls. The tuna and salmon rolls were literally just seaweed rice and fish with the diameter of close to a Quarter

Ive had their lunch bento box as well as the lunch sushi selection. Both were very tasty and fairly priced. The service is good and the place is rarely busy (for lunch).

The food is brilliant! Theres a wide variety that leavese wanting to come back and try all the other items, and not to mention that the food has a very homey feel.

I love the Bento Box dinners, and they have a great variety of sushi rolls. Definitely the best authentic sushi place in Renton!

Wait staff didnt know their own menu. Sushi reasonably priced but hot dishes were not. Food was underwhelming for the price.
