All the best qualities of an unpretentious dive-bar. The staff are friendly, attentive, no-nonsense, and the pours are stiff and frequent if youre a friendly and responsible bar patron. Atmosphere can vary depending on the night, but even at its noisiest, The Getaway exudes an upbeat and friendly informal vibe. Most of the clientele are local MLT residents and older regulars, but it ticks younger and more bouistrous on weekends and during Seahawk games. Beers on tap vary, with the dive standards (Bud, Miller, PBR) featuring, but there are some good microbrews on rotation as well. Prices are generally good, and its one of the few joints where I can buy the guys a round or two without feeling like Ill need to sell a kidney in the bathroom. Parking is plentiful with a large gravel lot in the back, and during busy nights, there will be a door man or two. There are two pool tables, some pinball/arcade machines, pull tabs, Wednesday to Saturday karaoke, and a small dance floor. All in all, if I want to go out with friends for a good time without getting too dressed-up and without breaking the bank, the Getaway is a hard joint to beat.

I really dig this bar. They have good food for bar standards. They have a lot of entertainment including pool tables, foosball, skeeball, Golden Tee (nicest GT setup Ive ever seen with large flat screen TVs for the monitors), etc. The service is pretty good and and all around its a fun place to be and hang with your friends. My only criticism would be that the drinks are a little on the weak side for a neighborhood bar. The drinks are reasonably priced, but I could get the same drink at another local bar for the same price with twice the alcohol (I promise this is not an exaggeration) which deflates the value a little. In the end I like the bar a lot and will continue to go there, but Ill probably stick to beer as the mixed drinks dont cut it for me. If the drinks got a little bit stiffer I would give this place a 5. ***Side Comment***: I would guess that the individual that gave this place one star did not go here regularly enough to be recognized and is either young or looks young so the bartenders were doing their due diligence on what was probably a very busy night.

This bar is one of those neighborhood dives that is more like a family than a business. Yes, the regulars receive excellent service because they frequent so often, the bartender knows their drink by heart. I have known the owners/bartenders by heart and know for a fact they hold service to a high standard and will serve anyone who orders as best they can. This bar is more focused on using profits to improve service rather than lay concrete in the parking lot and buy expensive decor. If you are looking for a place with drinks that are both strong and inexpensive, five star food and Pier 1 furniture, you are in the wrong place. But if youre looking for a fun place to unwind after a busy day with people from all aspects of life, you have found it. And as for the "American Idol" singers, you cant hold the bar responsible for their patrons, and maybe if you frequented here more and gave the bar more than one chance, you might find yourself enjoying the food, service and clientelle a little bit more.

The guy on the google review must be one of those nothing makes them happy kind of people. This is my regular bar where everyone knows your name and most of the time my drink is being made before I sit down. Its also a good drink, and they r only like 3 bucks! They have great deals on food that is pretty tasty if u ask me. Prices are more fair than bars in the area, and how can you not appreciate a bartender making sure everyone being served is over 21. Thats kinda their job ya know! J*ck*ss!

sounds like theyve been busted serving minors / overserving a couple of times. For each drink you order you need to have each person come up and show the stamp they give you at the door (no grabbing a round of drinks or a pitcher and 3 glasses) Their pool tables are broken and beat up. Oh, and she put about 1/2 a shot in each of our $6 Washington apples. Did I mention $4 bottles at a dive? Avoid this hovel if you can.

A decent neighborhood place. Kinda half sports bar, half pull-tabs joint, and half road house. I realize thats three halves, but the Getaway manages to pull them all off together without being confusing or obtrusive about it. Karaoke is hit or miss. Havent tried the chow, but the beer is cold.

Ha ha ha ha ha, well Im here at 4:30 on a Thursday, Im early to meet some one so I walk into this place $1 for 2 hard shell tacos!!!?? Ya I got some Im happy, beer $2.50?!!!?? Ya I drank a few, Im smiling. Just chill in here, games tables not dirty. Id say give it a try if youre on the area.

We like going there they have good food ,they know you when you walk in the door . But there one bartender that doesnt like it when we bring my husband service dog in there with us she stays on her lease at times. So we just dont go in there with she in working.

I admit I was skeptical about the $6 steak dinner but it was way better than I expected. Place was clean and they have lots of diversions (sports, pool, pull tabs, pinball and video golf.) Great neighborhood bar. Will be back.
