Went to the lunch buffet today after reading reviews and seeing the 4 star rating and had the worst experience I have ever had at a buffet. I rarely get to enjoy weekday lunches with the family so I thought we were going to be in for a treat... The biggest issue, no FOOD!! They offer 6 entrees, 3 meat and 3 vegetarian but all they had was a not Tandoori Chicken. The Chicken Korma and Lamb dishes were empty and took 15 minutes to fill. 2 of the veggie dishes had a little left and 1 was empty as well. Once they did bring more food it was maybe enough for 2 servings and then gone again. My Chicken Korma I finally got was cold in the middle and when I told the hostess she scooped it off of my plate and microwaved it... Then brought it back to me, no apologies. Just an all around bad experience. On a plus note the rice pudding was tasty but you have to eat it off of a plate so that is difficult in and of itself. No bowls available. Regardless of the construction going on outside, they should still have food available at all times. I overheard the waitress explaining to another customer that the construction effected there business so they didnt prepare the food as they normally would.

This has Just been the worst experience there! I have been going there since 2007 and never had a problem beside the mom and pop starring at me and my family eat. I kept going because the food WAS good- and frankly I love Indian food. Today we went there as we normally do every so often and we were there for the lunch Buffett. The food wasnt great but it was t bad. The curry tasted watered down. Probably the worst I had tasted since Ive been there. My 11 year old doesnt finish his meal and leaves it. The "mom" comes up to me telling me that my son is wasting food! I said okay so then charge me! Not a problem. She keeps telling me that he shouldnt waste food and how the food gas to go to the trash. I said then charge me but she keeps telling me how immoral it is. I told her the food wasnt great thats why he left it. She wouldnt stop harassing me. This place has just lost 6 customers for life! I wish their son would just take over the place it seemed to be a more pleasant place to eat when he was there.

Wish I could give this place 0 star. Went there today because they were serving lamb vindaloo but the meat was definitely not lamb. They never replenished the food until we asked them to and even then you had to scrape the bottom to get any food. The kicker was the Nan (bread). We along with other customers had to wait at least 10 mins for the bread to come out and guess how many breads they baked? One, that was cut into 4 pieces. Did the price of flour go up dramatically?? How much does it cost them to bake more than 1 bread so we dont have to constantly remind them that they are out of bread? To top it off we found out, when we went to pay, that they had raised the price of lunch buffet to $12.99 (used to be $10.99). This place was barely worth it when it was $10.99 but now is definitely NOT worth it at $12.99. Well be driving up north for some good Indian buffet even though it will be farther.

Food was good as usual,I like people there the mama and workers, been eating here a long time,my problem was this:hot food put into plastic not meant for hot food releasing bpa and god knows what other chemicals/carcinogens into our food. This was our first togo order.Unfortunately we will never go back unless this changes.Putting piping hot liquid into plastics is a very 3rd world practice.A common sense no-no especially when its hot enough to distort the containers.Dissapointed former regular customer.

The food is good traditional Indian food with great mastery of the food prep and ingredients. Not inexpensive and the atmosphere is just above plain, the the food is good but too predictable. Biggest problem in my book was they dont serve beer & wine. For me Indian food is not he same with out a nice cold Taj Mahal or Blue Himalayan beer to accompany it. I would eat here much more often if the offered beer with the meals. Gateway to India on 6th in Tacoma is still the best Indian in the Tacoma area.

Food was good, not great. I went for the lunch buffet. I enjoyed the chicken korma, but their naan was not good at all. They over charged my card so I have to question their integrity. It was only by a few dollars, but it makes me wonder if they do this to everyone. I probably wont be back for that reason, and that the owners were on their phone the entire time instead of showing an ounce of customer service.

A food item on the buffet was labeled Lamb Vindaloo, but it was not lamb and meat was overcooked. Items were not being replenished in a timely manner. We, as well as other customers, asked for more naan. It took about 10 minutes and only 4 pieces were provided. Weekend price was a dollar more, but the buffet menu was no different than the weekdays. Will not return.

Ive been to nearly every local Indian restaurant in the pierce county area, price/quality, quantity of food.. this is the best by far. Extensive menu and reasonable prices. They have a generous brunch around afternoon. I would recommend giving this place a try. Although lately service from the owner has been quite sour to say the least.. My reason for 4 stars.

Impressive! My wife and I happened to notice this restaurant as we were driving by. I looked up ratings here, and it looked good, so we gave it a try. Wow! We were very pleasantly surprised. The food has fantastic, authentic flavor, the prices are fair, and the service was good. We will absolutely return-- next time for the lunch buffet!

We ate there for lunch for the first time and will never go back. My husband and son had the buffet while I ordered from the menu. I had the chicken tikka Masala and garlic naman bread. The bread was really good but the masala was ok. My husband told me that one of the dish supposed to be lamb but its beef and its way over cook.

What sucks more than attitude of a manager in a restaurant? I paid $500 for a party food. The manager said the food is good for 50-55 people but it was only good for about 35-40. When I called and inform the manager. He was very rude and hung up on me. When I called back. He didnt answer. Worse Indian restaurant ever.

I had a good experience. I sat and dined in with my kids on a weekday it wasnt busy at all and the food was very yummy. I give it 4 stars because I still like Karma indian in puyallup better. They use a different way of preparing my favorite Indian dish (saag). Its just my preference.

I enjoy the cuisine at this location, it always has a wonderful aromatics sent and taste. They have a buffet bar but, I have always ordered al a cart. The service is fair, the prices are reasonable and I have never been dissatisfied with the food or drink.
