The Good: selection and value. Youre allowed to stuff a to-go box rather than eat there, something a number of people do (but probably shouldnt..ahem.) The Bad: almost every dish is a sub par version of something youd fine at a quality Indian restaurant. My favorite - Matar Paneer - was just awful, it was very watery rather than stew-like hearty. Two versions of rice were very dry as they are kept in two giant warmers. The Saag Paneer was one of the better dishes. Tandoor Chicken was average, their fried stuff was above average. At dinner there was something pinkish color that looked like dessert, but was wasnt, very yummy. Their Gulab Jamun is flavorful, but served cold; what makes this dish is when its served warm. The coconut Soft Serve Ice Cream was okay, but the Mango option was gross: bright Orange food coloring and bad flavor. Service is attentive and efficient. Parking and overall building is odd. Portland doesnt do Indian well, Id go back if I had an Indian food hankering. People going through the buffet line kinda resembles a hog trough.

Just went here today and had one of the best meals since the last time I ate Indian food. (which was about 2 years ago) I made it around 2:00 just in time for their buffet. I will also say that me being an ex vegetarian and my girlfriend being a current vegetarian that they have their meats and none meats divided due to religious beliefs and culture I would assume. So it made it very easy as well as the hostess at the buffet explaining everything and the contents. I also love that they trust everyone with a glass cup to refill at their disposal. Their naan is to die for and as fresh as fresh can get. Also an amazing place for people to try and test Indian food to see if they like it. Just an all around good place. Only 10 minutes from my house and was pretty much empty when I went in. I will be back.

I came in to get take out and immediately recieved very quick and friendly service. Since I am usually in a hurry, once i filled my take out box, and a small little carton they gave me which is great if u dont want your fruits or sweets touching your other foods, the front desk lady wasnt there but immediately a kind lady came from the back and went to get my bread than 10 seconds later the front girl showed up to help me. The food was simply fantasic I generally prefer to cook my own indian food instead of eating out just because I am picky on taste and how much oil is used, The food wasnt oily or dry just cooked perfectly. Defiantly will stop again for takeout.

I dont have much experience with Indian food so I was a bit apprehensive to go to a restaurant with just my husband (who has never eaten Indian food). But this place was great! The buffet is very well labeled including descriptions. This made it easy to figure out what I liked. The food was delicious! We got a couple of plates and shared across. We went for dinner and it was very moderately priced. We got the buffet but they do have a regular menu as well. We did not look at the menu so I cant speak to those options. The man who greeted us and "waited" on us was very nice and helpful.

This is the place to come for a wonderful, consistent tasty Indian lunch buffet. Ive been here about 15 times over the past 3 years and have never been disappointed. Ive spent over a year in India and love to eat and cook Indian food but going out to eat for Indian in Portland can be a total waste of money. This place is the exception. Ive tried most Indian restaurants in the area but with the exception of one that opened for 3 months in oldtown that was out of this world, this one is the best of the bunch. Enjoy Very family run and very homemade.

The first time I went to this place with my family as we sat down to eat, I opened the napkin to get the spoon and fork and theres this huge cockroach. It ran off the table and into the floor. I told the lady who we just paid that a cockroach just ran off the table into floor. She walked over and said where ...I pointed and said right there... She went over and put her foot on cockroach crushing it and said " what cockroach? " We left immediately after asking for our money back. Never go disgustingly dirty and unsafe for human consumption!

If youre not used to Indian cuisine (Indian: the asian country, not natvie american), you might not enjoy this place as much as I did. I have never had it before, but was definitely open to it. Right away I noticed the different colored sauces and the aromas & I was sort of put off. Im glad I tried everythong though as it was delicious. since Ive never had it before, I couldnt tell you if it was quality indian food but I know it was tasty! Definitely get the nan (Indian bread) to sop up all the different sauces. Namaste!

We went for lunch and its buffet style only you cannot order off of the menu overall the experience was good and the food had a good flavor although the one thing I would say is the food temp seems like it just was not hot enough and they needed to turn up the heat on their Buffet. Its in my opinion the food temp is is not at a hot food holding temperature and need to be checked. I would go back but not in a hurry. Lets put it this way they didnt work real hard on the atmosphere and decor. The staff was friendly.

Just remember that youre coming here for really good Indian food, not an upscale interior. ;-) The buffet is always well stocked and selections vary from visit to visit so its easy to try a lot of new things. Spice levels are generally pretty mild and the soups, naan, and homemade ice creams are all excellent as well. Price is *very* reasonable (especially compared to some other Indian places here in Vancouver-- *cough* Chutneys *cough*).

the best indian place around. the food is all hand made, and all awesome. its strictly a buffet joint with a couple hour break in between lunch and dinner where the restaurant is closed. 230 to 5pm. be warned not to go between those hours or you will miss out on the yum yum yummiest chow around. the interior is a little dated, but its a simple family owned joint focused more on food and service than ambiance.

A wonderful family run restaurant with delicious Indian cuisine. The buffet is always fresh and warm, with several outstanding options. I have enjoyed a lot of Indian food and this is among the best. Very surprising for a small place in Vancouver. The interior is prett basic, not run down but definitly not fancy. Regardless, Namaste is welll worth a visit to enjoy the great food and warm family atmosphere.

Whenever Im in the mood for Indian food, I go here. Ive never had the buffet before, since I always do takeout, but the food is perfection and the staff is nice. The owner lady (?) always greets me nicely and the food is consistently done right. Price isnt too bad either, especially considering the amount of food you get for a takeout order. Personal favorite is the butter chicken. Definitely recommend
