Personally I live in the area, so Ive visited this buffet some 15+ times. So here is what you need to really know. Mainly Ive stayed objective because Ive had a good share of buffets world wide, so I dont have a favorite I cling to. 1) Food Quality This buffet is a highly economical option for food that is normally considered expensive. Accomplishing this is not easy, so of course there will be some people who have tasted better, and therefore are unhappy with the experience. It is similar to Panda-Express but with seafood options. Compared with the other local sushi restraunts (Blue C and Sushi Island), this place creams the competition. The quality of fish and make is visibly superior. Main Japanese does serve sashimi and raw oysters, along with crab legs. The raw food is very fresh 80% of the time. But there are times when it smells a bit fishy or is discolored. Use all common-sense seafood guidelines and make your best judgement. With other dishes, the downside is in the good amount of oil being used. However, the salad bar and fruit station does make up for this. 2) Atmosphere The buffet took over after an attempted grill restraunt ran out of business. So, the decorations and details are brand new and very modern. The tables are clean 95% of the time and the dinner ware is meticulously washed. It is definitely suitable for casual parties. With the array of scoop-it-yourself ice cream, children find the place to be more like a playground perhaps. However, the aisles are only wide enough for two and a half persons to walk through, so running children are not a good idea. They do have signs saying that children should be accompanied. Personally, I have witnessed overly energetic children causing plate crashes. 3) Service In the beginning service was very average. They employed a large number of waiters who did not speak fluent English, and had too much of the Asian Service mannerisms (clearing plates immediately without asking if you are finished). But now they have solved this entirely. There is a good half-half mix between fluent English speakers and not-so. The buffet is sectioned with 2-4 waiters managing each section, so clearing plates and refilling drinks is immediate. The checks are a different issue. There seems to be some confusion as to who rings up checks or when checks are to be brought. On Fridays the line is also very long because of high demand. If you are early, you will easily enter in 5-10 minutes. However if you catch the dinner rush time, the huge surge will easily put you back in line for 30-45 minutes. Fortunately the food is quickly replenished by a speedy kitchen staff.

As a huge fan and lover of japanese food and sushi; this place by far beats every place Ive been to here in washington. Extremely fresh sushi, the best around! As someone who is not only avid sushi and sashimi lover but a chef. This is place to go for great, fresh sushi. A bit cold inside. But that is good for the sushi, so its expected. Good service. Ive been to loterally dozens of buffetts and this is my second favorite in all the usa. The best one is in natick ma. (Same as this one but triple the size with triple the sushi.) They should label what the sushi is tho so that people can be more informed and feel more invited to try it. Fondue fountain was nice, but need actual options to use it. Theynhad marshmallows. I just took pineapple and dipped. They should addstrawberries and what not. The host guy was a little rude. I waited for 15 min as was the waiting time.no problem. Forgot to tell him i wanted a booth, and gave attitude saying "well then you will need to wait little more. I said ok, no problem. They need to keep the girl or the waiters and waitress as front end. They were more friendly than he was. Other than that, best buffett in Washington!

This place was sooooo expensive they charged us "Easter price" dont understand why they didnt put out anything different and not everyone is celebrating "easter" we just wanted to go out to eat like we do every other weekend! So 23$ per person plus tax and get this the drinks are not included and not even a big selection I will say if you love sea food ok this is the place for you but I like more then just sea food a little mixture would have been nice some teriyaki chiken other meats you no idk I will say hands down I loved the ribs they had but thats about it and the had a chocolate fountain but no bananas or strawberries unless u wanted grapes, apples, oranges, pineapple. And to make matters worse in the cooking station you pic you ingredients in a plate and give to them to cook well after it was cooked they put it right back in the same plate were the raw chiken and everything was instead of a new plate! And when i told him to no cook again in new plate he could not undersatnd why!!! 0_o umm helo Salmonella! So if you tummies felt off after I would say for stuff like this was probably why!!! I would recommend the AAA buffet in tacoma

This place was awful, by far the worst food Ive paid for in a long time. Very cheap crab, it was cold when they brought it out, so I tried another type of fried crab they had and it was RAW. I had to spit it out because I thought I was going to puke. They do not have a good selection of food either, it all tastes very poorly made. The service is terrible. One of the servers Wendy followed my boyfriend (who is black) around the buffet Everytime he got up to get food. When I finally caught on I asked to speak to the manager "Jenny" to talk to her about our service and was repeatedly denied (Im talking more than 10 times they asked us "why do you need to speak with them"). Finally one of the workers told me that "Jenny" was not in so I explained to who looked like a manager about our service and while 5+ workers gathered around us she began laughing (Along with Wendy, our server). This place is THE worst buffet I have every been too and has such awful service, I cant believe they are still in business. Definitely not worth the 50$ spent on our meal.

Horrible service one of the dishes of sushi salads had gone really bad and sour yet they still were serving it. The waitress were in a way pushy to get us out which made my family of 14 people uncomfortable we didnt even get to sing happy birthday for my nephew...$19.99 x 14 = alot +$10% automatic charge for service you do the math the problem isn't really the $ its the fact that they rushed us out we were didn't even get to fully celebrate the birthday no one had the chance to get deserts;(...just awful the bathroom sink had no hot or warm water it was freezing cold the lobsters had a limit on it...pretty much its not what they say it is. Doesnt seem to be like a buffet to me if they set a time on it thats just wrong! tables around me agree that it was wrong before they new it they were asked to leave too we were all dissapointed never coming back horrible a lot of dishes.were very salty never had this kind of experience with buffet!!!!!!they dont even deserve one star!!!...
