We live in Bonney Lake and have been to this Mazatlan several times over the past 8 years. Its always been good, not great, but good. However, on Tuesday, July 8, we went into the bar to have dinner. There was 1 wait person and 1 bartender. These folks had to cover the entire bar AND the patio. It was a warm evening, so there was bound to be more people in the restaurant than normal. We arrived at 5:30 pm and once we finally got our order taken, it took over an HOUR to get our food. Lets just say that cold fajitas are nothing like the sizzling ones they promise on their menu. When our food arrived, I asked for the bill because I figured it would take forever to get here. I was correct. We had finished eating and still did not have our bill. Finally, the manager comes in to hand out everyones bill. He asked us how it was, and that was probably his second mistake (the first being not having enough staff on hand) my BF let it rip on him. He was not apologetic and only offered excuses like, "its a warm evening, so everyone came in" "we usually arent this busy on Tuesdays" Well, at any rate, he should have at the VERY LEAST, offered to buy us one or two of our Margaritas. NOTHING. I felt bad for the one waitress that was in the bar. She was literally running. This is just flat out poor management.

I have never had this happen we reserved there party room for a small bridal party for my daughter. had a few drinks and a couple party trays nothing real big.we reserved the room for 7pm for 15-20 people. at 7:20 they seated us (not in the room)because only 9 were there i asked if we could move to the room, they did move us but was not happy.we were there 2hrs and had to wait like 20-30 min for anyone to ask if we needed anything after all that everyone paid for their drinks and food and left i get to my car my sister get into her car (next to mine)and my phone rings it was the manager asking to talk to my sister (the room was reserved in her name)he called and was upset at her because not everyone left a tip.what kind of restaurant manager does this.I WILL NEVER GO TO THAT PLACE AGAIN

This place has been very hit or miss. Sometimes I have a great dining experience accompanied by stellar service and awesome food but on 10/13/2012, the whole thing was dreadful! Chip baskets, salsa bowls and drinks were not regularly refilled and the customer service was totally lax. When the food was brought out, they were missing a couple orders so two people in my party had to sit and watch everyone eat while they continued to wait for their food to be prepared. On top of that, everyone got sick later that night. Coincidence?!? Maybe they were just having an off night but I dont think Ill return any time soon.

I have visited this restaurant many times, not because it is good but because it is the only place around. I have yet to have a good experience with service and the food is okay. Margaritas are hit and miss, usually decent but today it came with no salt OR alcohol. This was after waiting 10 minutes for menu at bar, moving up to restaurant side to stand here another 10 minutes before being sat. Then another 15 to order and receiving the nastiest chips. Ugh. Time to find another Mexican restaurant nearby- let me know if you have any recommendations

I have been to the Mazatlan in Bonney Lake numerous times. Lately, the service quality has decreased to the point of being very poor. The waiter messed up the drink order, never checked back to see the food was good, and handed the bill over before asking if dessert or another drink would be needed. The attitude from the waiter almost felt as if I was inconveniencing him by stopping by for a meal. It is unlikely that I will be going back anytime soon for another meal.

Big restaurant. Service was good, friendly and appropriate. Food was not near authentic. Very bland. Fajita meat flavorless and not grilled. Onions and peppers lightly steamed not grilled. Sides also flavorless. Flour tortillas puffy. Locals rave about this place. Must be regional taste. I grew up in Hispanic culture eating authentic Mexican food. This is not even near authentic Mexican or even Tex-Mex. Dinner. Saturday Evening. dissapointed

This is one of my families favorite place to eat. The food is amazing and the employees are always friendly and helpful. My wife and I often share the vegetarian fajitas and its more then enough food for the two of us. Our son (11) loves the cheese quesadilla with fries. If your looking for an affordable, friendly and good place to eat this is it. Its also a great place to stop after a fun day of skiing or biking to refuel :-)

Our family loves Mazatlan! It has been a favorite of ours for 30+ years. Way back when it was a tiny little place in Puyallup. It is a fun and festive place to go and eat some delicious Mexican food. Mazatlan will not disappoint. Editing to add that this place does draw a crowd, but there is almost never a much of a wait. The restaurant is huge. The bar is nice as well and is always a big party for sports games.

I had a great experience at the Mazatlan in South Hill, but the one in Bonney Lake was awful. I had great quesadillas previously, but in Bonney Lake they were wet on the plate, full of mushrooms, which were not on them in South Hill, and the grilled vegetables advertised were raw. Then the bill was a wrinkly paper receipt placed on the table, not on a tray or in any kind of holder. Was with family....disappointing.

I go to this Mazatlan at least once or twice a month, and have been for years! Great service and great food. The waitors are usually quick, and you dont have to wait very long for your food. My order was only wrong once, and that was on an incredibly busy Friday night. I highly recommend going here! username mona obviously expects too much from people.

Great food and service. Come on Mariachi night for great entertainment. Also, $1 Taco Tuesday. Huge tacos for $1. Be careful if you order a Long Island Iced Tea, they are potent! Finally, my favorite dish is the Tres Amigos, the Chili Colorado and the Chili Verde are as good as it gets.

Best Mexican Food in the Southeast sound. Offers true southern hospitality, entrees or family style platters. Good drink selection, a sports bar (far and away from dining area) and ample room for groups, dinner dates or lunch parties.

I enjoyed my meal here. Staff was friendly and courteous. Process seemed fair and portions were generous. My only complaint is a small one. That it can get a bit loud and noises echo in the main hall.

Not authentic Mexican food. Our waiter said they couldnt make me extra-hot salsa. Thats the first time a restaurant has told me that and I am 63 years old. I eat at Mexican restaurants often.

Nice place. Beans and rice is bland. Lower quality unfortunately. The food needs to be better. Charge more if you need to but nice colorful menus dont bring people back. Great food does!
