If you want sushi, go somewhere else. That being said if you want ramen, this place is amazing. I cant tell you if it is authentic I am not Japanese nor have I ever been to Japan. I got the Tonkotsu with pork made it spicy as they suggested on their website. I was not disappointed. Flavorful and filling. The egg was hard boiled not soft like I was expecting. I got the godzilla roll and it was eh. Very sloppy in presentation and construction. pieces were not full cut and also rolled loosely. They fell apart super easily. To drink was bubble tea. If you never had it, you must try it. cold refreshing with a surprise chewy sweet ball every now and then. Pricing was higher than I would like, however it was a lot of ramen and they make everything in house so its understandable. Service was fast, restaurant is clean and simple. As with ALL of downtown Williamsburg parking can be difficult depending on time of day, the day it self and time of year. Between tourist season and school year.

When I first came to this restaurant, I expected much more than I got. I expected authentic japanese food in a typical restaurant setting. What I got was a sub-par ramen recreation and a cross between a McDonalds and a japanese restaurant experience. I got miso ramen with chicken in it and the hard boiled egg that was placed in the food had a cold yolk and a warm exterior, which was quite disconcerting. The ramen itself was "okay" and was definitely nothing to write home about. Honestly I think I could have had better ramen for 10% of the cost of the meal I paid for. But, the worst part was when I got home and had extreme stomach cramps and genuinely scary diarrhea. It was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I wasnt the only one because some of the people I went there with had the same problem. So, I wholeheartedly do not recommend this place whatsoever.

Im gonna give this a 4 star because they are really trying and Ive been in worst places. The place is nice, cool paintings and nice seating. Parking can be a pain because its by the college. The food is not bad but the rice isnt sticky but maybe its because i got fried, it looks like medium grain rice. The steak was good along with the shrimp and veggies. The white sauce was ok but not a lot of flavor. The price was $15 for a steak and shrimp combo and a drink. Im not in college but even for me thats a little steep for decent food. Hibachi over by Ross and home depot is better. They do have ramen here so gonna try that next. One thing is i cant image they are so busy that they cant take out the trash. Worth trying maybe they are better at making soup.

The food served at Oishii is truly Subpar. An unauthentic and poorly executed spinoff of Japanese cuisine. The ramen was uninspiring and ghastly with a broth that tasted like leftover KFC drippings. While the noodles tasted like the MSG laden instant ramen in every college students pantry, lacking in both alkalinity and proper cooking. The eggs were overcooked and cold with a taste reminiscent to moldy cheese. I was truly disappointed with the quality of the "restaurant" and it is a disservice to Japanese Cuisine. (P.S. Ive seen better tableware at a NYC street side hotdog cart.)

I took my girlfriend and dad last night. We loved it. My dad hadnt had Japanese food before so I was a little worried what he would think, but he couldnt get over it. Dumplings were great, sushi was very fresh and faster than most Ive had, and the hibachi entrees were on point. This would be a great place if you need a quick turnaround on carryout. The next time I go back Ill try the ramen. The service was very friendly and the manager was engaging about how we felt about our experience. Give these folks a shot. Great restaurant in a great location.

Nice location, walking distance to William & Mary and Colonial Williamsburg. Nice dining room. Modern. Not large. This is basically expensive Japanese fast food. You order at the counter, and they bring you your dish. Food is good. Ingredients seem of high quality. You can watch your food being prepared through a glass window. Portions are generous. The paper plates and plastic utensils seem a bit out of place in this otherwise upscale restaurant. I definitely recommend and intend to come back.

So many noodles. So. Many. Damn. Noodles. The octopus appetizer is like the best cream puff youve ever eaten, but with octopus instead of a Bavarian creme filling. I ordered a second bowl, but the extra cost for extra meat is worth it. The sushi is fresh and fantastic, but if you have a hankering for sushi specifically the rolls are a bit small for the price, in my opinion.

Chinese style japaness ramen. I used to live in NYC and visited Japan a lot in my childhood. So I am very picky about Japanese ramen. I ordered Donkatsu ramen with pork. The soup was not hot enough and really didnt like the carrot and sprout on the top(I usually like these vegetables). The pork has Chinese sauce on it and inside was very tender but outside was dry.

Not trying to hate or anything, but the food is very bland. Its good, the ramen broth did not taste like much and the yakisoba noodles was pasta!! Not japanese at all!! The veggies were not cooked long enough making it taste odd. Other than that, the place itself is a good chill spot! Paper plates threw me off though!

The ramen we ordered was sub-par. The broth lacked flavor and all I could smell and taste was sesame oil. I may be picky about ramen, considering I have had some from delicious shops in Las Vegas, but I do believe it gets much better than this. Service was quick and friendly, so no complaints there.

Good food but pricey as CW demands. Nice looking place. Sushi and Octopus balls were delicious. Udon with salty pork sauce and pork was very tasty. Id definately go back. Loved the egg in my dish but Id replace the corn with water chestnuts. Dont miss this place for a good meal

The Miso and Udon with Veggie option was good, but it was not Oishii. The other 5 in our party were very happy. I guess this means that I did not find the flavor profile to be entirely accurate. I am prejudiced by having lived in Yokosuka, Japan for 3 years.

This place is delicious! I really appreciate the vegetarian options and the gentleman taking my order was very cognizant of what had meat byproducts in it which I greatly appreciated. The service is fast and extremely courteous and the food couldnt be better!

It is now open as of August 1. Its very good. I had the ramen, my wife had the chicken yakisoba, and my son had the chicken hibachi. Ordered shrimp tempura as an appetizer. It was all delicious. I wish they did not serve everything in plastic dishes.

Order a bowl of Tonkatsu broth for 2 dollars and 50 cents and prepare to be amazed. I was SO sick and couldnt keep any food down so I ate nothing but this for 3 days and it kept me going. Probably the best thing you could ever buy for $2.50
