In 2015, Jalapenos was purchased by the Hispanic staff that has been waiting tables there for years. The food has improved and become more authentic while the service has stayed as friendly and wonderful as always. This is our go-to place in town (Weve lived in Smithfield for a decade). I cant say enough nice things about the people and the food. You cant go wrong with dinner or lunch here. The food is awesome, the staff are wonderful.They are even nice employers as we know some of their teenage table-bussers personally. This is an all-around great place.

A buddy of mine and I walked in after hunting all day and we didnt know what to expect. Let me tell you what we got. The best freakin Burrito we have ever had!! it looked amazing and it tasted like heaven in the mouth! the Fiesta Burrito and the on with Chicken, shrimp onions, and Melted Queso!! we are still talking about the Burritto from two days ago and cant wait to get back!

We had gone to Annas for my grandsons first birthday and were treated so badly we walked out. We ended up at jalapeños..Our waiter and the rest of the staff were absolutely fantastic. They made his birthday a celebration with the hat, fried ice cream...and fun...I love this place for what they did for my family..such a wonderful friendly environment.. Thank you guys so much

Do not order a steak. I did that tonight for the 2nd time. Both times it was tough and not very flavorful. I have ordered several other things that were very good. Most of the time the service is good. Ill definitely return and will recommend to friends, but not any steak.

We treat Jalapenos as our neighborhood Mexican Restaurant. We go there once or twice a month. Food is good and quickly served even during busy times. We love the staff. Theyre friendly, cheerful, and recognize us when we return. Would recommend Jalapenos to our friends.

Second location for Jalapenos Restaurant in the Hampton Roads area with the original in Chasapeake. Friendly staff and a good value for the dollar. Less of a chain feel that other area mexican restaurants such as Plaza Azteca.

Love this place. As a fan of good mexican food, I think Jalepenos has the best mexican food anywhere in Hampton Roads. The portion sizes are way above generous and the prices are good too. Oh and the staff is amazing.
