Me and my husband visit this restaurant often. Never really looked at the cost of the bloody Mary that I normally get til the other day .$11.99 I was like wow seems kind of high. I asked the manager he said it was all top shelf liquor (absolute) to be exact and name brand mixes. Ok fine I understand. Went back 2 days later had the same 2 bloody Mary and I woke up this morning with a headache from Hell. Now if you are really using Absolute why do I have a headache...... I paid $24 for 2 drinks I should not have a hangover. Just wanted to share this.

Great food and atmosphere. I love the building and plants outside. The Camerones Gratinados Appetizer is awesome. (Shrimp with onions and cheese). Ask for fresh cilantro and they will bring it - adds a kick to any dish. I love the Mahi Mahi and also the Chicken with Chorizo. The Shrimp Tacos are fantastic. The flavors of the food are great. The wait staff is always friendly and fast. A great thing to try is have the Guacamole prepared at your table. We had it again tonight and it was fantastic. Ive added photos.

Dont judge a book by its cover...we went in thinking this place was going to be awesome because it was packed but it turns out its not. They served us this "white sauce" with our chips when we sat down. When we asked our waiter what was in it he said it was white sauce...not the answer we were looking for, so we asked another waiter and he shrugged his shoulders and told us the exact same thing. Our waiter Miguel was out of it, he was awkward - it was not a good experience, I would definitely not recommend this place.

My Sweetheart and I had dinner here last night and we are glad we did. We were greeted with a smile, The hostesses, our server David and the food runner - sorry do not remember all the names :( - were very friendly and did an excellent job. We were seated in a nice area. The meals were well cooked and served in time. I liked the Azteca Del Mar in the seafood sections. Must try for seafood lovers. Thank you guys for such a great experience. We will definitely visit again.

First off the staff was too busy texting to pay attention to us or take our order but by the time we actually got his attention it was to tell him ants were in the white sauce and all he said was "oh we need to close the door to the patio" not sorry or anything !!! Then when we paid I told the lady at the register what had happened and she just stared at me like a lost puppy...im NEVER going back to that location again or any of my friends or family

Eating with my son. He ordered, I didnt, just because I wasnt hungry. He ordered fajita chicken with no rice and no beans so I think he got extra chicken on his plate. Only brought 2 tortillas with meal, so will have to ask for more. Chips were ehh, they do bring out both red and white sauce. He said it was okay, but not as good as our regular spot in Yorktown, ( 3 Amigos is WAY better ). I did try a piece of chicken from his fajita plate - meh

I recently ordered food at your establishment on Taylor Rd in Portsmouth VA. Everything was ok until I got home and realized it was not what I ordered. When getting a refund your manager became very rude not apologizing rolling his eyes and then putting my money on the counter and walking away. I am very disgusted if management acts this way you can not much more from employees. It was just a bad experience I do not wish to have again.

It was horrible,because I ordered takeout of rice and beans and it had a grey hair in it...i called and the person I spoke to said ,he cant control the food,once it leaves the restaurant...i really liked the rice and beans,but i wouldnt reccomennd them to anyone....i didnt even get my money back,but enjoying the food meant more than the $ 4.36 That was spent. . Please check your food before attempting to enjoy

Plaza Azteca is one of my favorite authentic Mexican restaurants. I go to this particular one because it is convenient, not far from the shopping Mall, Walmart, Target and Best Buy. The food is yummy! On busy evenings, the wait is about 15-20 minutes, but they usually sit you in pretty fast. The food is yummy! The bar is also nice!

Excellent mexican food at an affordable price, plus it has an authentic atmosphere (even a live mariachi band performs on some nights)! I highly recommend this place if you crave mexican food at a reasonable price.

Decor is great. Wait staff is knowledgeable. Drinks are strong. Food is wonderful and portions are huge. Its perfect for groups or just to go by yourself. I love that they make the guacamole right at your table!

Dont believe the times listed on the website cause apparently the close the kitchen early. If the restaurant is supposed to close at 10pm, dont tell us the kitchen closes at 930pm when we show up.
