Great spot! My husband and I had the pleasure of eating here on July 16th of this year (2016). Were from a small town in the mountains of NC where you rarely have to make a reservation, so we didnt for Lucky. We went and were greeted by the hostess and the owner (we found out later). The owner was super nice about it and offered to take our number down and call when something at the bar opened up. We left expecting it to take an hour or more. Within 5 minutes he called and said he was holding two chairs for us. The bartender (Brittney maybe? long blond hair) was great. The drinks were delicious, food even better. I would make a reservation if thinking of eating here but we were very impressed how they accommodated us so quickly and were very nice about us not making a reservation. I need to brag on the owner a little more, he was seating people, cleaning tables, filling water glasses, taking food out, he was working the entire time we were there, you can tell he really cares about his restaurant.

We decided to try Lucky for a nice dinner to celebrate our anniversary. They seated us right next to the front door, and the rest of the meal felt a little awkward after that. It was not exactly a nice, quiet, romantic dinner. The food was good. It can be best described as a mix between "spectacular" and "OK". The desserts and coffee were definitely the highlight of the evening. Overall, we did not think the meal was commensurate with the cost. The service was good, but not quite "stellar." I could see it being a great place to go grab a cocktail, but we will likely not be back for dinner anytime soon.

Great cocktail menu and equally good food. Had the duck entrée and it was cooked to perfection. Our waiter even mentioned that it takes about 25 minutes to prepare so they can properly rest the duck before serving. A little hard to find if youre not familiar with the area but Google maps got us there easily. Cost was just over $100 for two of us including an appetizer, two cocktails, a glass of wine, a beer, two entrées and dessert. Would definitely come back again.

A hip, somewhat upscale restaurant with delicious food. Off of the main drag, nice decor, seasonal menu with lovey choices. The Rappahannock oysters were stellar. Friendly wait staff. More adult than kid friendly. No kids menu (ours ended up eating chips and bell pepper back at the hotel and she has fairly sophisticated taste). Wear shorts and a tee-shirt or a long dress or a jacket and tie. All are welcome.

I love that they make everything (including curry ketchup) in house. I love their drinks. I love their beer. I love their food. I love their "lanai" (even though its more of a "sidewalk" than a lanai). GREAT place to eat, reminds me of living in a bigger city (Old town Alexandria, VA) and the types of restaurant choices you have there.

Felt like the staff was really snooty in general. Specifically our waiter got really passive agressive when we didnt order appetizers. The place felt like it was going for fancy but still charming however I didnt feel like it had any charm. I would recommend the bar if you wanted a good drink but I dont recommend the dining experience.

The southern fried chicken is delicious alongside the kale and mashed potatoes it is served with. I have had the cheese plate as well as the bone marrow, both of which are high quality and well prepared. Nice atmosphere and service in addition to the great food. Definitely not what one would call a good deal, though, but its worth it.

Excellent food. Service was a little slow, but it was a busy Friday night. Everyone cleaned their plate - the food was delish. The friend chicken was tender, juicy, and yummy, as was the pork shoulder. FYI: Noisy place when full. Be sure to watch the bartenders craft drinks - they are fantastic to watch.

Its like someone googled "hipster vibe" and made that the concept of their restaurant. Even the staff look like total caricatures of hipsters. Its hilarious how hard this place is posing. We just had a couple beers at the bar... our service was incredibly friendly and attentive but not obnoxiously so.

FANTASTIC. Well prepared food, and a great selection of bourbon. I would suggest ordering the cube. it is a bourbon drink with an infused ice cube that melts into the bourbon giving it great flavor. They hand-smoke all of their glasses to give them a distinctive taste.

Delicious. Elevates food and drink to art. Great atmosphere. Their bartenders are true sorcerers, conjuring up delicious concoctions at your request. Despite the upscale fare and ambiance, they cover the tables in butcher paper and supply crayons, much to my delight.

It took the server about 20 minutes to greet us and they were not that busy. She forgot to bring out my salad (they did knock it from the bill). Food was good but certainly not 5 star worthy. Marrow bones were the best amongst our order. Portions are very large.

Food was fine, drinks were good, pricey but good food and drink. Experience was bad, staff was snooty and managed to make our time dining here unpleasant. Poor customer service and talked down to us, acted like we were an inconvenience.

The best place in southwest Virginia for innovative cocktails and drinks. The food is excellent - give the marrow bones a try! It is an extremely popular restaurant so reservations are definitely a good idea.

The food was beyond expectations. The service was quite good and we were there at peak hour on a Saturday night. The chicken and the pork shoulder both had a unique flavor that was excellent. We will be back.

Husband and I went for date night. Made a reservation. Food was delicious but pricey. Wait staff and chef are super nice! Chef offered free dessert because they thought we waited too long for our food.

Such a cool place, everything works. If we were local we would eat here every day...sadly, its 4-5 times a year when we visit family. This is the type of place that makes RNoke special.

A great eatery which is part of the rebirth of downtown Roanoke. An eclectic menu of terrific food that you can wash down with the best microbrew selection in the valley.

Trendy spot, definitely get a lot of traffic. Great food with a nice wine & beer list, save room for dessert - you wont be disappointed. Reservations recommended.

Had the fried chicken and mash with kale. It was a very pleasant spin on a classic meal. The cube drink was a perfect compliment.
