I had gone to this restaurant with my family to show support to a black owned restaurant during restaurant week. When we first walked in, we were waiting for at least 5 minutes and no one had approached us to be seated. Luckily there was a couple seating in a large seating area that were nice enough to switch seatsbso my family and I can seat. The waitress took a while before coming to us. We asked to start with water and that also took a while. When we finally ordered our food, it took about 40 minutes to receive it. During the time that we were waiting, the owner and manger of the establishment went to every table to welcome the customers and to see if everything was OK. Our table was skipped numerous times for whatever reason. Once we received our food, we were highly disappointed as the food quality was not that great. Except for the fish plate, the fish plate was great. Vegetables tasted like it was straight from the can, chicken and turkey was dry. My pork chops tasted good but the pieces were small. Once everything was done, my wife wanted to inform the manager of our experience. When we introduced ourselves, the first question he asked was "Were we together?" and then quickly apologized for the question. What kind of question is that. We are sitting with our kids and we both have wedding bands on. The question had nothing to do with the topic. After everything was said and done, he invited back and gave us a free meal card. But after the first experience, we will not go back. Too many other restaurants in the area that would treat us with great customer service. If anyone is to go to this restaurant, the music is good and the fish plate is great, which is why I gave it two stars.

Very very disappointed, with this place. The place had no air conditioning, lack of seating, pre paid for tickets and had to leave because of lack of seating. Staff did not try to accommodate us. Left and went to Emilio and had a great time.

Left Turn Right Band was there performing and they were awesome. The food was delicious. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Oh and that mix drink, "BIRTHDAY GIRL" was one of the best drinks that I have ever tasted.

Seen this place many times but just made it inside. This place feels like home to me. Coming from a small town, with a small black community, this feels good! Mommas home cooking! You know I love my collard
