We had a couple meals here soon after they opened and it was just ok. But we wrote that off as growing pains and tried again. They became much, much better, to the point where felt comfortable taking out-of-town guests there with confidence. THEN we went the other day and literally had the worst restaurant experience weve EVER had! The place was practically empty, so we felt lucky to get the place to ourselves. Service was quick and friendly, initially. I ordered the cod fish special and my husband ordered a burger. We were sitting close to the kitchen which was directly within my line of site. I didnt see the regular manager (tall guy - maybe owner). No problem. I did see a woman who appeared to be the mgr. I had never seen her before. Again, no problem. As my husband and I were chatting, waiting for our meals, I saw a chef/cook put a burger up. It sat there for a while, under the warming light until our server walked up, said something to the chef/cook, who took it back. Almost immediately the cod dish came up, in the same spot, making me think these were our dishes. Now the cod sat there a while under the warming lights. Finally the burger came back up, our server took them both and delivered them to our table. I tried a fry right away and it was limp and lukewarm. Oh well. Then I tried to cut into my cod and it was like rubber. I thought maybe it just wasnt the best quality fish. I took a bite and literally had to spit it back out. The server came back to ask about the food. I told her that it was literally inedible. She apologized and took it back immediately. I ordered baha tacos instead. In the meantime, the mgr came to the table. She apologized, explaining that they were "training" a new chef. She said hes from New Orleans so "he should be really good." Whatever. She agreed that the cod was completely raw and said she had to tell him "it takes longer to cook a thicker piece of fish." Ummm, I thought he was a CHEF! Any home cook knows that! I was polite and accepted her apology. I mentioned that the fries were cold too and said it was probably because it had been sitting under the warmer while it was waiting for the burger that had been retracted and replaced. At that point she told me thats not what happened (even though I watched it with my own eyes)! She said I dont understand how there kitchen works. I let it go. My husband ate his burger, which he said was "just ok," while I watched him, waiting for my replacement meal. The manager came back and admitted that the burger HAD been retracted because the "chef" had put the barbecue sauce ON the burger, instead of on the side, as my husband had requested. (So instead of asking if this was a problem requiring redoing the whole meal, they just took the burger back.) The mgr subtracted the cost of my meal, but Im afraid to go back. Is it under new management?? I hope not. I hope it was just a bad night. Ill be watching reviews.

Just had a Sunday brunch here with my wife and 3 year old. Poor service and badly cooked food is my reason for the 1 star review. Positives: Great ambience and the location is convenient. Lots of parking and they have a covered patio. A couple of locally brewed beers on tap. The Bad: The staff are young high school kids who were not very friendly or attentive. My wife ordered the bottomless mimosas however our waitress was no where to be seen after we got our food, making it difficult to get any refills or condiments. I ordered the Kuban, It lacked flavor.. my wife ordered the breakfast nachos. The potatoes used in the dish were not washed throughly and because of that had grit (dirt) in the food and to make things worse the dish arrived cold. We tried sending this dish back so my wife could get something else but the waitress apologized and said she would send the manager over. 20 mins later she comes back with the check. At this point we were pretty disgruntled so we decided to pay and leave( we had to pay for breakfast nachos that we did not eat).

Service was pretty slow on a Saturday night, which is to be expected. The main thing that shouldnt be slow is drink orders. It took over 15 minutes to get mixed drinks. The bar wasnt even that busy, so that probably was due to the fact that our server forgot to even put in the orders. We had to remind our server about 2 drink orders that were never brought. He also never even brought the orders of shots that a couple people at our table put in. We decided to leave and head to Halligans for this reason. Our server also never brought one of the waters that someone at our table ordered. He literally had to get up and go to the bar and request 3 waters for himself and couple other people at our table who never got refills on their water. The food was just okay. My burger wasnt salted at all, the chips were way over fried, and the potato salad had way too big of chunks of potato. The French fries were great though, and most of the mixed drinks that we actually received were excellent.

Had the patio pre-arranged for our group of 40+. Two servers did the best thy could taking orders and keeping up. The first people that ordered (kids) got their food an hour + after the adults got their first food. orders. I went in to the cook line and asked when it was going to be brought out politely and the assistant manager aggressively barks back that they are getting the orders out as they came in...which is not true. I told him the last thing i needed to hear was his lip and that it was a simple question. He turned his back on me. i asked the girls that were there if i was out of line and they said absolutely not. As a local, i want small places like this to succeed. I have been in 12-14 times in last year or more and had mixed results but brushed it off. Last night took the cake and I wont go back unless i am having a beer at the bar. The owners are nice people but i am not sure they are aware what is going on when they arent there.

Being members of the community, weve really wanted this place to succeed but the food is subpar. My husband picked up food to go and I ordered the least objectionable thing on the menu - a burger. I told my husband to BEG them to go easy on the salt. It did absolutely no good. What I got was a burger and fries so salty they were inedible. In addition the buger was so charred and dry you could use it for a hockey puck. I will no longer eat in the restaurant because I find the craziness at the pass stressful. If youre going to have your kitchen and expediting area in full view, then you better be on your game. Not 10 servers standing there waiting while food dies a slow death under a heat lamp. Management is pretty disengaged. On the upside, waitstaff has always been friendly. Their training, attentiveness and punctuality could use some work though.
