For Mr. Brian Wilson....how can you say that Rizzis Restaurant is the worst restaurant in Rochester when you havent even stepped foot in the establishment? Your ratings are not accurate, nor fair at all. Why would you go there if you werent sure it was open. If you look at the website, you will see that they serve dinner on Monday-Saturday from 4:30. Obviously, that doesnt include Sunday. If you had called earlier to make a reservation, you would have found that out. To expect the owner to do something for you when you clearly didnt investigate totally is crazy. No business deserves to go out of business becauseYOU didnt follow-up. Not eating there doesnt hurt Rizzis but hurts you because you are missing a great dining experience. I eat at Rizzis often and find it a great place to have a drink and/or have dinner. I find the staff very pleasant and fun. Go in, Mr. Wilson, introduce yourself to the owner and have a great dinner. Im sure youll change your unfair review.

Gary, thanks for setting the record straight with Brian Wilson. My family has eaten at Rizzis on many occasions and never have had a poor quality meal. Family owned restaurants are by far the best to patronize and support. You can have those chain, cookie cutter, restaurants. I will admit the price is a tad bit high but the quality is well worth it. Service has always been very good and waitstaff is friendly and easy to engage with in conversation. Ive had most items on the menu and all are excellent! I am partially fond of the French Artichoke Hearts for an appetizer. The French sauce is wonderful! Ive traveled all over on business and have eaten at many, many restaurants and I will always come back to Rizzis.

Rizzis is one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants to go to. The food is fresh and delicious, the atmosphere is very relaxed and on nice days in the summer (if its not too busy) you can catch a seat outside on the patio. The owners are incredibly friendly and the drink selection is very good (moreso the wines and spirits, but not a bad beer selection). The restaurant isnt huge and its easy to miss if youre not paying attention, but its well worth your time to check it out. Their website needs an update and really doesnt reflect the high quality of the restaurant itself so try not to judge a book by its cover. Per another reviewers problem, be warned that Rizzis is not open on Sundays.

This might be one of the best, most authentic Italian restaurants in all of Rochester! The food was on par if not better than meals Ive had in Bostons historic North End. The olive oil provided with bread was fantastic- lots of flavor and parmesan. Everything tasted home made- from the italian soup to my wifes salad with with house made balsamic mustard dressing to the two incredible entrees- Mediterranean Veal and the baked Haddock. The portions were generous, flavour tremendous, and everything tasted fresh. So glad we found a Groupon for Rizzis, or else we probably wouldnt have tried the food here. Now we will surly be coming back!!! Thanks for a great meal.

Worst restaurant in Rochester. I tried to find their hours of operation on their website but it was not posted. I tried calling, no one answered and there was no voice mail. On a Sunday night at 5pm I got a baby sitter for my kid, went out with the wife to the restaurant and found it was closed. There were no hours of operation posted on the restaurant. The next night I called the restaurant and talked with the manager asking if there was anything he could do for our inconvenience. He was extremely rude and disrespectful. I will never eat here and I tell everyone not to go. This place deserves to go out of business

Has to be the best kept secrets in Rochester. I love all the French offerings, huge homemade Lasagna and seafood options. A true Italian/American restaurant with high end food. I found it is best to make reservations if you want a table. I often eat at the bar where the service is very fast and professional. Looking at other reviews, It seems that the Groupon users had lower reviews due to price and use rules. Its funny I use them....and read rules and ask... I will be back soon!

This is definitely a neighborhood Italian restaurant. I came because I had a Groupon and needed to use it before it expired. I ordered Steak au Poivre and Pinot Noir. I thought it was good but I did not like the steamed brussel sprout and pasta/sauce. I like the steak but the rest of them seem irrelevant. The server was professional, kind and the place was neat and clean. I would not mind coming back because I want to try their pasta dishes.

Growing up on homemade Italian food, I am very critical of where and what I eat. The food at Rizzis is consistently amazing! Very relaxing atmosphere, with an incredibly friendly staff, this is absolutely a home away from home for my family. At Christmas, our family, friends, and my clients are always so excited to receive gift certificates from Rizzis. 5 star all the way!!

Some of the best lasagna around. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and my wife thought it was meh. The owner comes around and is quite friendly. Seems like some people didnt like that. I always want an approachable owner who listens and cares about his place. Good italian food at a reasonable price.

Used groupon. Not overly happy I did. One of two dishes was nearly inedible. Wasnt offered replacement. Food was tasted and not eaten. Owner comment "weve been open 27 years." Not even an apology. Bad customer service. Owner arrogant. Wouldnt go back for free.

Best restaurant in my town! The menu offers a wide variety of appetizers and entrees but it is usually the specials menu that draws me back multiple times a month. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating to special requests.

No good. Dank. Rude. Poorly seasoned and cooked. For great Italian food go to Rocco on Monroe Ave instead.
