Acme Barbeque is absolutely terrific. We make an event out of it every Wednesday, the first day they are open during the week. Whenever we walk in, greeted with a nice hello and "The usual?". They know who we are, and I appreciate that more than anything else at a small business. The food, I cant put the quality into words. Just getting out of the car across the street, I can smell that wonderful smokey flavor. The brisket is perfect. Great cuts of meat with good marbleization, perfect seasoning, and a nice smoke ring. The pulled pork and turkey-without any sauce has an excellent smokey flavor. Light use of any of their unique in-store made sauces accents the flavor of the meat perfectly. The dry rubbed wings with hot sauce are very unique. Smoked, rather than deep fried-the meat has a ton of flavor and practically falls off the bone. My only meat complaint are the sausages. Cooked perfectly, but too strong of a flavor in either variety. The flavor almost covers up the taste of meat in it-All I could taste for the rest of the day was garlic. Sides are terrific. Im fond of the cole slaw and beans. Add a little of Acmes mayo-based White BBQ to the cole slaw and its perfect. The beans have nice medly of beans, and a great sweet & smokey flavor. I think they might even use some of their Acme BBQ sauce in it. Deep fried potato salad is fantastic and unique, but Im afraid to know nutrition facts on it. No idea what that guy "Dean" was thinking below. As a reply to his comment on the beans-if thats what your idea of drained chili is like-you need to start eating some proper chili my friend. A $5 brisket sandwich probably has close to a pound of delicious meat on a great roll from a local bakery. You cant fit your mouth around any of their sandwiches without some serious effort. Well worth the money. Generously packed sliders are only $2, and I dont think any side costs more than $2. The atmosphere is great, outdoor seating is nice, and the place is nice inside as well. Friendly staff, great food, low prices. Couldnt ask for more.

George and his staff recently catered our wedding, and we could not have had a better experience with them. Most importantly, the food was absolutely incredible. We received compliments for the rest of the evening on how good the food was, and our guests are still talking about it to their friends. Most say it was the best food theyve ever had at a wedding, and we absolutely agree. It was also the only wedding buffet Ive seen where the food actually looked appetizing, and not like it had been sitting out all day. The buffet was serviced quickly and quietly, and the brisket and salmon were carved on the spot and served to guests. More than that, though, George and the entire Acme staff was incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process. They anticipated our every need, and accommodated several last minute changes at no extra charge (including adding gluten free/vegetarian meals, and a menu change). We wanted to have china rather than disposable plates at our wedding, and for a small fee they even offered to rinse and re-rack all the dishes in the containers provided from the rental company. Even though Acme didnt provide dessert, they still left disposable plates and utensils for us to use for dessert (which just gave us one less thing to think about!). The servers were friendly, smiling, and talkative, they circulated the appetizers very well and cleared off the tables very quickly as our guests finished eating. Overall, excellent food, excellent service, easy to work with, and extremely professional. I never had a single doubt that they would be able to handle everything, and they absolutely did. It was so NICE to work with a wedding vendor that made everything such a breeze!

Ill have to agree with all the other 1 star ratings about Acme BBQ. This was the worst BBQ place that I have ever been to. The only thing worse than the BBQ and BBQ sauce was the service. The college girls working behind the counter were rude and acted like it was an inconvenience that we came in to eat. What really killed me the most was how they took the BBQ sauce bottle off of your table while you were eating and didnt return it. Its a good thing their version of BBQ sauce wasnt very good because she actually did me a favor. And this place is NOT comparable to Rudys in San Antonio. Im originally from there and Acme has nothing in common with Rudys.

Came here with my homie KnepFather. He enjoyed his foods for the most part. My food was alright. For a Northern joint they do actually smoke it, but my ribs had been either oversmoked or been stored under heat too long as they had become "jerky". My brisket was good. What they do have down are their sauces. Each one of their BBQ sauces (6 total I think), have great flavors enough so it merits another try in case the meats were just off that particular day.

I do not what was worse, the food or the rude and frustrated teenager behind the counter that did not even have the common courtesy to say, "Thank you" or "Have a nice day" after taking my money and just walking away huffing and puffing. The french fries looked and tasted like that sat around all day. The meat seemed to be so overcooked and dry that you had to have a gallon of water around to finish it.

ACME BBQ is a joy in Central PA. Comparable to Rudys in San Antonio. Sandwiches are huge for $5 and smaller sliders for $2.50. Side dishes are excellent and I highly recommend the deep fired potato salad. Took my daughters here (7 and 9) and they loved it. Very limited seating inside though; 2 booths. Either arrive early or plan takeout. Carnivores delete. Family of 4 ate for $22.

This place is OK. The food is pretty good, and you do get a LOT of food with your order. Their fries are a bit soggy, their pulled pork is deliciously messy, and their custom made sauces (like BBQ) are excellent. The place is small, though, so dont expect there to be room (its a small shop). This place is good if you want a lot of hot food to take home with you.

The fried potato salad is awesome, the turkey is pretty good (little too dry without sauce), my girlfriend loves the pulled pork. The flavors and varieties of sauce are fantastic. The only thing Ive tried and not enjoyed was the brisket...it was tough and fatty, not what I think of when I think of brisket.

Terrible...this is not bbq people! There were bones in the pulled meat. Bones in the salad. Not clean place was dirty. The bbq sauces were very basic out if a jar with some extra pepper thrown in. I would never rec.this place to anyone. Also note the first few things I tried to order were out. Pathetic.

Great location, friendly staff, too notch food and sauces. The only problem this place has is that the food take a long time to make, and its so good they usually run out of things each day. Come prepared to try a few different things just in case and youll be happy.
