My wife and I live in Staunton and were in Harrisonburg for the evening to unwind at the Barnes and Noble and do a little shopping. She said that she was hungry so I suggested the Italian restaurant at the end of the shopping complex. However, she wanted Mexican. We drove around for awhile and came upon Jalisco 3, which is not far from the mall. Though we were a bit hesitant to try an unknown entity, we went ahead and walked inside. Boy were we pleasantly surprised! We loved the Pacific-inspired decor and the lighting was just right for dining. The menu was extremely varied and included regional selections from Jalisco, which I had the pleasure of visiting 25 years ago. The food was seasoned far better than our favorite restaurant in Charlottesville, Amigos. Most of all, my wifes carne asada and my fried chicken chimachanga were delicious and presented exquisitely on the plate. Jalisco 3 has the best guacamole Ive ever tasted. For desert, my wife ordered flan while I opted for the fried ice cream. Once again, Jalisco delivered. The service was the best weve had at any restaurant in Harrisonburg and ensures we will return again in the near future. My wife is a native Texan and she stated that Jalisco 3s fare is better than anything you can find in the border states. This is a real gem of a restaurant and I feel fortunate to live so close to such authentic Mexican cuisine.

We will NEVER go here again! My wife and I ate the exact same thing except she had the COLE SLAW that they bring to the table with the chips. It tasted ok she said but after about an hour she became very ill with food poisoning. Stayed up all night vomiting and in the bathroom! Like i said, we ate the same things all day except she had the cole slaw. We also had a visitor at the table while eating. A cockroach! No big deal, weve seen them in restaurants before but this with the food poisoning and the bad service just adds fuel to the fire. This decision to go here instead of another mexican restaurant cost us a pleasant vacation. It has been 24 hours and my wife is still sick with this mess. Beware of this place and beware of the COLE SLAW!!!!!!!!!

This is the best Mexican food in town. Although Ive tried many of their dishes and loved all of them, the second I tried their burrito is cheese sauce, I fell in love. The staff is friendly and helpful. The décor is pleasing to the eye and very captivating with its unfamiliar Mexican styles. I like that the chairs are different from anywhere else - they are woven straw/wood to create a bowl-like armchair. I visit here often with my family and the quality has never diminished. On the most recent visit, we had a new staff member who didnt know how to serve the fried ice cream, but the seasoned staff came to the rescue on the wings of the birthday sombrero. Best place for a family meal. I seriously recommend their cheese-sauce smothered burrito.

Ive eaten at hundreds of "authentic" mexican restaurants across the US over the last 30 years. By far, this was likely the worst. The food was not very good. I was actually expecting average to medium food, but it was really sub-par. The beef (steak) quesadillas were very oily and gamy tasting, my rice was cold and overcooked, the salsa tasted like tomato sauce straight from a can, they couldnt bring me a hot sauce that wasnt dirty/empty/old, and the quesadilla wasnt even cut. Overall I would have to, unfortunately, say to avoid this place. That said, while I will not be going back, my experience is solely based on 1 visit. Maybe it was a off night, but with so many things wrong, it didnt appear to be coincidence.

We use to eat here many moons ago. I have always enjoyed the food. The food was even better than I remembered! Oh by the way, my kids set up for them to sing happy birthday to me. Sooo, they placed a sumbro on my head, placed a bowl of fried ice cream in front of me then, began to sing to me. Then, all of a sudden, the dude that was behind me took a spoon full of whipped cream and whipped it on my face. I was totally shocked! So needless to say my kids and all who could see this going on all laughed at me. I just about grabbed the guy to shove his face into the ice cream, however Im a good sport. We all had a great time! Food is the best authentic Mexican food I have had in a very long time.

The margaritas are incredible. I had the chips and cheese dip and it was outstanding. They added a small cup of their coleslaw. It was the best Cole slaw I ever had. I sat at the bar and then had 3 crunchy tacos with beef and lettuce and I asked for some tomatoes and sour cream. They brought that in these tiny little crunchy tortilla bowls that were perfect. The whole meal was the best Mexican meal Ive ever had and Ive been to Cancun Mexico. This was better. You want the best Mexican food or margaritas ever, come here. I highly recommend the jumbo frozen margarita and the crunchy tacos. The chips and shells were very fresh and crunchy. Tre magnifique!!!

Simply amazing! I kind of thought it was funny to read some of the other reviews before I went bc of how they went on and on about how great it was, but then I ate there and understood. The food was amazing and tasted very authentic. I grew up in a Hispanic dense neighborhood and this is the food I remember. The decor was great and the waiter was very helpful when I wasnt able to narrow my choice between three picks. He was also very friendly when I changed my mind from tea to coke mid meal (the tea taste great Im just indecisive at times). The food came out very quickly and taste great. Ill be back again soon!

The food was very good! The service was not! My waitress barely come back to my table. I asked for more salsa (it was really good) never received anymore. My waitress and the woman that checked me out barely talked to me, never smiled. I guess because Im not a regular they dont feel like being nice. I saw waitresses standing at other peoples tables carrying on convos with them but they barely say anything to me. I felt like I was inconveniencing them the whole time I was there. Im from out of town and heard the food was good so I tried it. I will not go back to this location, maybe try a different location.

Staff is not very friendly or welcoming. I have been there 3 times with co workers and I am disappointed. Food was fair, however customer service was terrible. My friend had a bug stuck in between the taco shell and the meat of her taco salad and I had another who was told she could not be served because she had too many children when there were only 6 orders total including adults. We will not be returning to Jaliscos.

Hands down the worst service Ive ever sat through. We had large party, made a reservation ahead of time and we get there and they forget about our reservation?? To top that off, after finally being seated, we wait another 30 minutes just to get our drinks ordered and waited another 30 minutes to get them. Couldnt even get a chance to order food, we just left because it took so long.
