The good: Drinks. Their Tequilana margarita is very good. I did not try their other beverages, but in my opinion, any Mexican restaurant that can make a good mid-shelf margarita is worth noting. The okay: Salsa. The salsa that came with the chips was a little different than a lot of places, but a bit thin for my preference. At first it seemed flavorful as opposed to spicy (I prefer spicy but am willing to trade for a good flavor), but after a few chips it became apparent that it is extremely salty, so I had to stop there. The bad: Food. It was quite disappointing given that it is also overpriced, especially considering the variety of inexpensive alternatives available in Greenville. The burrito that I ordered was also very salty, which means I wouldnt be able to eat as much as Id like because I needed the extra room for multiple glasses of water to wash away all of the salt. Too bad I never got water, bringing me to the next point. The ugly: Service. One would think that on a Saturday night, an establishment would have enough staff on hand to accommodate as many patrons as their place settings would allow. Despite empty tables in what is not really a large dining area, we were only visited by a server about 4 times the entire meal - one to drop off chips and take drink order, one to drop off drinks and take food order (and request for water, which was forgotten), one to drop off the check, and one to drop off the receipt. As I mentioned above, I needed a lot of water for the salty food that was provided. Unfortunately, due to the service, I did not receive a single glass of water. Fortunately, this place is near my house, so I was able to go home and stick my head under the faucet and chug for a few minutes to catch up. Recommendation: Drop by this place during happy hour for good drinks with your friends and you will be glad you did, but if you want a nice Mexican dinner out, try somewhere else.

Tried this for the first time last night. I liked the look of the inside. Not fancy but attractive and comfy. There were a couple of things I really liked about the food. A lot of Mexican restaurants dont worry at all about presentation. Ive grown accustomed to too much food swimming in a pool of too thin frijoles. Tequilana served us food that was the right amount, not too little or too much, and it looked fabulous, as if it was prepared for an ad shoot. I was surprised that they dont offer traditional pinto beans. Not a problem for me since I prefer the black beans they served us, but my wife slightly prefers pinto beans. The only thing I didnt like was the chips. They were a very unusual hard texture and felt stale. I dont think they were, but they have a way of preparing them that makes them unlike anything Ive had elsewhere and I didnt like them as much, although that didnt stop me from eating them. The best part was the service. She struck just the right balance between too little attention and too much. I didnt get her name, but my receipt says the cashier was Yassi so perhaps that her name. Well be back.

Best Mexican in Greenville. Get anything with the brisket--its absolutely fantastic. Very friendly staff and quick service, though Im never there when its busy. Ive been here several times, tried something different every time, and its all amazing. Like another reviewer said they, strangely enough, have pretty good seafood as well. A bit more expensive than most Mexican places but you get what you pay for. I will continue to go here for as long as I live in Greenville!

Ive driven past this restaurant every day since it opened nearly 3 years ago and never tried it until today. My mistake. The food and the service were incredible. Fabulous salsa & margaritas! Easily the best Mexican food in the upstate. Try the Burrito Acapulco. Its a nice sized burrito stuffed with a variety of seafood and topped with a delicious creamy chipotle sauce and served with rice and grilled asparagus. Excellent!

This place has really great food. I get the fried calamari as an app almost every time I go and they have amazing specials. They have this one seafood burrito special that is AMAZING! They use this green sauce thats drizzled over top of it and Im pretty sure I could drink that by itself. Its not the cheapest Mexican restaurant, but its worth every penny.

This is a great restaurant with amazing food, and its not too crowded. My girlfriend and I like to visit Tequilana for dinner occasionally. We always enjoy the pleasant environment and the great laughs we get when we reminisce of the time when we first met - which is at my former apartment across the street. P.S. I love you Katarina♡

UPDATE- Its a regular place for us but the service has totally went bad on the last few visits. I took my family there a couple of times and the food was very good. The second time we tired the desert since it was made "in-house" and it was great. I will go back again. Prices seem to be higher than other Mexican restaurants.

Best Mexican I have had in a while, you wont get ordinary mexican food here! Its fresh and its different. Besides the staple menu items, they have a wide variety of menu items with a twist, I had the crab quesadilla and my husband had the burrito chilaca. The sauce on the burrito, was heavenly. Highly recommend!

This one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. Forget about Chueys and Papas and Beer, seriously. The food here is that good. Try the smoked brisket tacos, the smoke brisket enchiladas or the shrimp tacos you just cant lose at this place. The food here is truly made with love!

Authentic Mexican (not Tex-Mex) and a nice variety of dishes on the menu, and this comes from someone who had lived in LA for 20 years! Prices are reasonable. Relaxed atmosphere, prompt & friendly service. Try it.

Fresh, Mexican cuisine with a French twist. Every plate weve ordered has always been so tasty. The staff are always welcoming; a family that welcomes its patrons to feel like family. Great place!
