I went to dinner here this evening for the first time and will not return. I did not receive a friendly greeting upon entering and waited a few minutes for a table. There was one couple also waiting, but the dining room did not seem busy. While my server was nice, the service was slow. I waited for refills and the first refill was not the right beverage. There was a lag in between receiving my appetizer and entree. When another server delivered my fajitas, I was not provided with the side plate to prep my fajitas or the plate with the sour cream, pico, and cheese. I had to request this from my server. The marinated steak on the fajitas lacked flavor, the side of rice was cold, and the portions of sour cream, cheese, and pico were very small. The dish came with a nice portion of steak, but only 3 tortillas for a dinner portion. I had half of my steak left over after using the last tortilla. I was not able to ask for any additional cheese, pico, sour cream, tortilla shells, or a to go box as my server NEVER returned to the table after I requested a correct beverage refill. I paid for my bill via the ziosk. I asked the less than friendly hostess to speak with a manager before leaving the restaurant. I shared my experience with him as a first time guest, and he provided me with a free meal card to return. I will not. He explained that they probably should have had more staff on than 4 servers because he thought there was a convention in the area and they probably should have looked at area events when staffing. Correct. This restaurant is near a convention center and there was a convention in town. However, this restaurant has been in business for years, and I found this to be a weak excuse. The dining room had a lot of empty tables and the staff was not hustling as if they had just come out of a dinner rush. The staff seemed to lack experience and basic customer service skills/knowledge. The quality of food and service does not balance with the menu pricing. Plus, you may leave still hungry as I did. Save some time and money, and grab a better meal at a Plaza Azteca or sadly, even a Taco Bell.

If you want anything close to Mexican food, this is NOT the place for you!! We tried this restaurant for the first time ever, tonight. The "queso" is a giant bowl of tostitos dip from the jar with maybe something else added into it, the chips are translucent and paper thin.. We waited over 30 minutes for our food to come to the table, and when it did, my order was wrong. I had ordered the grande burrito with the sour cream sauce.. the chile sauce was on it instead. I simply cannot have anything spicy due to medical issues. I had my husband try it, and it was not coming anywhere near me. The waitress was completely amazing, and recognized the mistake but was hopeful it wasnt too bad, but it was. So, it was sent back. Once we did receive it correctly, the beef tasted exactly like it was made from those El Paso taco kits you buy at the grocery store. My husband got the chorizo chicken cutlets, which was insulting. The chorizo was mixed with cheese.. why??? We cant figure out why you would mix chorizo with cheese. But we would like to note that our waitress was completely professional, terrific with the drinks and refills, and tried to make us happy as she could. Its not her fault the food is completely subpar. The management needs to reconsider their position in the "Mexican food industry" and classify it as something else. COMPLETELY disappointed. We will not ever come back here.

Let me start by saying the staff is very nice. The problem I had was i order carry out and was not impressed. I got home and notice I did not receive the tortilla shells for my fajitas. I also order double rice with it and in each container was only a 1/4 cup of rice. I order my son quesadilla with fries and I felt so bad for my son I had to end up making him a PB&J with chips. There were only two little pieces of quesadilla and they were rock hard and there was maybe about 10 soggy fries next to it but a big thing of ketchup. My other son which I order the kids burrito with rice and beans had no rice which is his favorite. Also did not receive drinks with the kids meals when I looked at the menu later that night. I felt so bad for my two sons that I went and got them ice cream. Everything cost $33 (I left a $5 tip so $28) and I fell like it was money wasted. If you want good, cheap, real Mexican go across the street to El Azteca.

The waiter was great. He took time to answer our questions, and offered good suggestions. He brought very tasty salsa and freshly made tortilla chips. When we mentioned having lived in the southwest, and looking spicy food, he brought us some extra hot salsa. However, it was very busy when we went, andthe restaurant doesnt deal with being busy very well. The wait for the food was about an hour, and I had to send my chicken fajitas back because the chicken was still pink in the middle. The food was good, but not great. I expect that things might be better all around if went when it was slower. The decor was nice, though oddly eclectic. The bar was well stocked, and there logged to be a variety of drinks. They had several Mexican beers on tap, which was a nice touch. I might go back when things are slower to give them a second chance.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the Hampton, VA location. This was not the first time we visited. We continue to be impressed each time we dine there. Tonight was especially enjoyable. The hostess made us feel very welcome and appeared interested in finding the best table available. Our server, Lela, was very impressive. She was cheerful and was on top of everything without being too "hovering". It was clear to us she enjoyed taking care of her customers. The food presented beautifully on the plate, was hot, and delicious. I was especially impressed with the flavor combinations in the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail. Additionally, the manager stopped by the table; genuinely interested in our experience. We will definitely return and continue enjoy this restaurant.

Me and a few co workers came here to eat on our two hour lunch break. We arrived at 11:20 we ordered our food at 11:40. We did not get out food until 12:38 and it was cold. We asked for our food to be free or discounted because we were all in class and wouldnt be able to eat it once we took it to go. The manager said she would give us a discount. It was only a 10% discount. They took one dollar off of our total meal that will just go to waste because we wouldnt be able to eat it. The manager had an attitude and it was just very poor customer service they have lost 6 permanent customers. We just politely left without causing a scene. But we are extremely upset and will never be coming back to this establishment ever again.
