I have never been so Ill received walking into an establishment before. Was in town for several days for business and had lunch down the street earlier that day and decided after reading the good food reviews to try it for dinner. I realize some of the other reviews led me to believe the atmosphere was not "friendly". I just left my hotel after showering and changing clothes for an early dinner. When I walked in the music was way too loud and it was full of very loud and boisterous "older folks". I had decided it was not my cup of tea and had turned around and was on the sidewalk leaving when an old lady jumped up and chased me down. How not to greet people in a hospitality establishment: "You look like you just came from the "Y" (referring to the the YMCA I think). Besides our dinner is a buffet tonight and its 25$ per person." Now, I stated loudly that "I cant believe you said this to me. How rude. I had decided I couldnt eat comfortably in such a loud restaurant anyway." i left, I really had to hold my tongue. I was dressed no less appropriate than any of the old people there. I was clean shaven and my hair was neat. Further, I hold a long association with restaurants in Virginia. My grandfather used to be on the board of the Virginia Restaurant Association. At one time during my youth my mother, father and both sets of grandparents ran restaurants. I grew up in the business and was President of the local chapter where I live for some time, also serving on the local board. Never been so rudely treated. If the hostess aim was to ensure someone never graced that door again, she was uber successful. If you grace their doorsteps and leave thinking it was un-friendly, hope you went in "forewarned".

My son and I had heard great things about the Thai Pot so we decided to try it last night. We love Thai food and eat Thai food regularly so we know and appreciate good Thai food. The Thai Pot has a wonderful decor and ambiance and the food is excellent but the portions are the smallest of any Thai food restaurant that I have experienced. The hardest thing to do for any restaurant is to serve really good food with great service and the Thai Pot has done a great job with that. However if you have a healthy appetite then you will find the portion size very disappointing. My son and I both thought we were accidentally served appetizers rather than meals.....the portion size is really that disappointing. I dont think the owners realize how popular their restaurant could be and how much more business they could do if they simply addressed portion size. They have done everything else right but that. I would give the Thai Pot 5 stars if the portion size were bigger. We will not be going back until this has been addressed.

Wow, what a wonderful restaurant we stumbled upon! Best Thai food weve ever had, and we have a fine selection to choose from in NoVa. The interior is nicely decorated and comfortable. The drinks were well mixed by the owner herself, who also does the cooking. We had a roll appetizer that was so fresh and bright; Cashew w/ Pork stir fry was light and full of ginger; Pad See Ew was full of big chucks of chicken and spicy (ordered that way). My 10 year old loved the sticky rice and raspberry dessert, saying "the raspberries were just the right touch of tart." Service was great. Well worth what we paid and will eat here again when we return to the Kilmarnock area. Do yourself a favor and eat here!!

Raw food, long wait time, rude owner(waitress&chief) I came from NYC, A place that is full with fantastic foods and restaurants. But, for this restaurant all I can tell you is, go somewhere else. Save your money and save your time. Came in at 5PM. Meal served at 6:30PM. If you like raw meal please come and you will love it. Owners attitude is just something a restaurant owner shouldnt have. Rice is not cooked. when we tried to communicate with the owner about the food. we were using soft and nice attitude to communicate with the owner. she was angry and said ive tried my best, and this is not raw. this is how i cook the food. i like it.if you dont like it, leave.

What a dissapointment this was. Waitress incompetant, owner/chef (tan) rude. Meal took hour to arrive at the table, they were out of ice tea, then wrong meals arrived. To top off an already bad experience, they completley messed up the bill to the point I tried appeal to the owner/chef to correct it, still to no avail. thought it was just my table, but another customer stopped by to tell me they were having a similar bad experience. definetly wont be back to this place.

we wait for one and half hour. saw couple people walk away .the rice was uncook and return twice. pork not fully cook, string bean not fully cook. very expensive, waiter was great, owner/cook very rude. we told her food was uncook, she said thats how she like. will not be returning. best thing in the store is the waiter and water. i have no idea where all these 5 star rating coming from.

We partly live in the area and regularly have lunch here. This place offers by a large stretch the best quality food. It is always freshly made and has this distinct taste that leaves you pleasantly surprised. We have been around the world and can tell this is Asian food at its best. Excellent service attentive and helpful. A big asset for Kilmarnock and surroundings!

First of all the Waiter and waitresses dont get their tips so dont bother to leave big tips. Waited 1and half hour for a over cooked beef noodle soup. The portion of the noodle is made for kids considering it cost 15 dollar is over price.

Thai Pot is an unexpected delight in Kilmarnock. The restaurant is inviting and comfortable and the food is very good. We make a point to stop in regularly. Our children have always been welcome, too.

Thank goodness for the Thai Pot restaurant. We love Thai food and not having to drive to Northern Virginia for the great quality we enjoy here is a definite benefit.
