I only consider 2 spots for a diner in eastern PWC. Dumfries Cafe and Joes. I rate them equally for different reasons. Flip a coin if you want great breakfast fare...simple, inelegant, but tasty in sufficient quantity at a good price. Dumfries Cafe is small and tight, but heck, we never go there and not run into someone we know and have never had a bad breakfast, and the rare early lunch. Seems like everyone knows someone there. If you want space and similar food quality and price, go to Joes. We flip a coin and look at the clock to decide which way were going as they are about equidistant from our home. But, for my money, this is a place that will be on my list until the state kicks them out to widen Rt. 1.

I placed a to go order and specifically asked for the potatoes to be well done and crunchy. When I arrived to pick up my order I checked my order and the potatoes were not even browned. I let the lady upfront know and her reply was "well the cooks are busy today". Food was mediocre but not worth the bad customer service. They even charged me $4.95 for a to go cup of juice when the menu clearly states $2.95 for a large! The lady then said it was because the cups were bigger which when I asked to see them they clearly were not. I wanted to ask for a refund but I figured they might mess that up too. Will not be visiting again.

This was one of the best diner experiences Ive ever had (and I visit diners as much as humanly possible)! The service was quick and the women taking orders at the register and serving food were friendly and attentive. We felt welcomed as soon as we came in. From the outside, the restaurant is non-descript, but inside, its full of character and decorated patriotically. Our food came out in about 5-8mins and was delicious! I enjoyed a vegetable omelette with home fries and toast, and the coffee was good too. The prices were great, especially for the portion sizes. Would highly recommend a stop in at Dumfries Cafe!

Dumfries Cafe is forever my favorite place to grab a bite to eat. The food is delicious without fail, and very generous portions.The service is warm and friendly. And it feels very cozy, and comfortable inside, like home away from home. I have never had a bad experience in the two years Ive been coming. P.s. The garden salad with fried chicken is incredible.

Ive been going across the street for lunch for two years to the Dumfries Cafe. Everything is wonderful. Its small and maybe a little cramped but its still great. The specials are always good and the menu is all american diner. They make a GREAT BURGER! The staff is very hospitable and friendly too!

Nice local cafe/diner, fast and friendly. Food was good. Appears rather popular, easy to find. Varied enough menu, portions good - fries very tasty. Can call/order ahead to take out. Ample parking.

Food is absolutely on point! Only reason of a 4 star rating is the seating and size of the joint. If you dont mind getting elbow to elbow then stop by and dig in!
