Excellent quality food and service, but the portions ... a tad on the sparse side. I had the gyro and fries. Plenty of fries, but wheres the lamb? A typical gyro is so stuffed full of meat you cant even pick it up. This one was so anemic I could roll it up like a burrito. One leaf of lettuce, a sliver of onion, and a single slice of tomato, a pinch of feta, and there may have been some tzatziki in there somewhere (but dont quote me on that). Babe, from one Greek to another, your food is delicious but such servings! Look at me, Im skin and bones! Meat was deliciously seasoned and cooked but only made a guest appearance amongst mountains of pita. Prices were VERY low and reasonable for what I got. But sweetie, up the price by a few bucks and give me a MEAL! Only time I left a Greek restaurant hungry. Waitresses were friendly and attentive, dining room was clean and neat. Fun vintage 50s diner style.

2400 Diner was recommended to me as a nice quaint place to have breakfast in downtown Fredericksburg yesterday. The building is very old and the decor inside is cozy and old-fashioned.. exactly what we were looking for. However, the warm fuzzies stopped when the food arrived. It was TERRIBLE. I had eggs, french toast and sausage. My date had the steak, eggs and home fries special. Both of us were in the restroom for the following 24 hours. Yes, its TMI, but please heed my warning! I will never go back. To top it off, the head waitress was rude and unaccommodating.

Wish we had gotten seated and had been able to try the food. We waited more than 30 minutes. That wasnt the problem. They called several parties, large 5+, families of 4, and other groups of 2...everyone of those groups arrived after we did. At least 4 other people left, not wanting to wait. After watching yet another group of 2 go in before we did, I asked how they were seating people, because all these groups had arrived after we did. The hostess said NOTHING. Poor service doesnt ever get my business. IHOP was delicious.

Over all it is good food at a great price. Just dont go during peak hours. This restaurant has been an iconic place to eat in Fredericksburg spanning generations. I remember it as my parents favorite "night out" location. The food is really good but the space is limited due to zoning laws that limit their ability to increase the size of the restaurant so dont go there during peak business hours. Service can be hit or miss with some of the younger girl servers. Think Mels diner from the 80s sit com tv show.

This is possibly the nicest establishment in all of fredericksburg! The staff is genuinely friendly, you can tell the patrons are regulars and they are delightful to watch and talk to, the food is hearty and delicious! We were greeted by a lady with the most amazing smile and I have to ask her name because she makes you just want to be her friend! Thank you!!

My husband and I look forward to the 2400 Diner every Saturday morning, and sometimes on Sundays and during the week for dinner. The atmosphere is like having dinner with your family. The food is great and the ladies that serve us our food are all top notch! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to sit down, relax, and feel at home.

The last 3 times we have eaten here amount to the last. No man at our table, so service was sorry. We were basically ignored. Over 20 minutes before getting drink order last time and over an hour before we got food. Good food. Frustrating watching others cone and go while we sat waiting.

I was in town for a conference and was told to come here. I am so glad I did. The waitresses are so incredibly friendly and the food was so good I rolled out of the building. In short: want good food and service? Go here for your next meal.

Great food, family-diner atmosphere, with low prices (considering the portions). It may be crowded, and/or you may have to wait (but that is because the food is good). Very nice staff, always working hard. Great for breakfast too.

The food was good and the beer was cold. Service was a bit slow for not being very busy, but everyone was very pleasant. Its pretty small on the inside, so youll have a hard time seating more than 4 people.

Step back in time in this tiny diner. Breakfast was wonderful and service was grand. Had been looking for a new breakfast spot after moving to the area, and after trying several others, this is the one.

Scrambled Eggs should have been served with a Bic Razor. (Cook should be required to wear hair nets on his arms)
