Unfortunately its what you would expect from a small VA country town. For whatever reason this location (unsure if it is part of the chain as the menu is different) is one of the worst mexican restaurants there is. Though out of all the worst, the food is edible, though definitely not worth the price, to the horror of my Mexican family, Id go to Taco Bell instead. Seriously. While I have been here multiple times due to being in groups of friends who know not what it should be like, it has also given me the chance to try different dishes at different times and I hate giving bad reviews and hoped it would have been an off first time.. Even though most mexican restaurants are not truly completely authentic, at least the food can be great. Im in love with the Fredericksburg/Plantation and Stafford/Garrisonville Rd locations being not only consistent but amazing food, addicted to the fried chimichangas and the white cheese sauce! In addition those locations are festive, clean and superior service along with a great variety of margaritas, as in the past I have enjoyed the spicy ones, though I always request a ton extra spicy personally! DECOR/Atmosphere - As far as THIS location, while it does look "authentic" its like the authenticity of a dirty run down border town place where you try not to think of where you food came from judging from the dirty dusty dining environment. And the sad thing is even dirty border towns have better, nicer, cleaner places to dine! And you know the food is authentic! I give it 2 stars because the food is at least edible but mainly the staff seems nice, though not as professional or on top of things as the other locations, it is really what youd expect stereotypically from a country town no where near Texas. Its like they say, if you go to a burger joint, its rare that their salmon or pasta dinners will be worth it - generally speaking, you go with their specialties. And unfortunately, while Thai Culpeper has managed to bunk this stereotype, Pancho Villas Culpeper location has not. In short. Save your money. If you cant leave town then go to Taco Bell, otherwise go with the old timey Frost Diner or the amazing Culpeper Thai!

The 2 best Pancho Villa restaurants are the Stafford Garrisonville Rd near the Walmart - before the Walmart from I95, and the Fredericksburg Rt 17/Plantation locations. For whatever reasons, this and the Central Park locations have been super disappointing. The service is good, friendly staff, but the food is though not bad, but not truly satisfying or so good. Definitely NOT anywhere close to great. Ive been here multiple times, so Ive had a chance not to judge based on a one time experience and with multiple dishes, however after the first, it was only because the groups I had been with wanted to go that I conceded. Given, being a mexican restaurant in a small country VA town, it is just as good or better than others in the Culpeper area that I know of. But Id cook at home or wait for better food when I could travel farther. There are many other better restaurants in Culpeper - sich as Thai Culpeper down the street or even Frost Diner! You can save a lot of money at least, and if its mexican food you desire, I hate to say the local Taco Bell is more satisfying, to the horror of mexicans everywhere lol. On one hand you can say the atmosphere is rustic mexican, but it more reminds me of a border town mexican restaurant that is old, run down, dirty and neglected as expected from dirty border towns in general, except more expensive and even border towns in Mexico have nicer restaurants amongst the filth. I hate giving negative reviews, and possibly for those who havent had better, it may seem great to them, but I give it 3 stars for service, edible though so so taste, better than some that have been truly awful, particularly in this area. Yes, Id go to Taco Bell if I were stuck here, save money, better food amd not feel like I need to sanitize myself after walking out or thinking about how the kitchen is compared to the neglected decor and cleanliness of the dining area.

My wife and I try to come here as often as possible. We have two kids, and always feel welcome here when we see the same friendly faces each time. The lunch buffet is a little simple, but contains all the staples you would expect. The eggs that show up on the buffet from time to time are divine. I was told by a friend theyre not always there, but tried them a few weeks ago and was very happy with them. Light, fluffy, filled with peppers. I had the Carnitas with red sauce last night, and they were flat out amazing. I had always stuck to my plain, boring (but delicious!) enchilada/burrito combo, but decided I needed to branch out, and I am glad I did. I took the leftovers home with me, and I dont take leftovers back with me... ever. This was that good though. Were this in a town with a ton of competition, it might only rate 4 stars, as the food is very good, though maybe not superb. Here in Culpeper though? Its 5 stars baby.

This restaurant has what you would expect to find in any Mexican restaurant in most every state in the United States. Portions served were generous and ingredients were fresh. Our guacamole was made right by our table, and was excellent. Flavor were well balanced and not too spicy. Service was ok, servers were gracious enough, but not overly attentive. I give this restaurant a 3-star, mostly because of the lack of cleanliness and its condition; it just looks shabby, dirty and a little unkept. The menus were sticky, the windows were dirty, the green carpet in the sitting area where we were seated, looked disgusting, and just needs to be taken out to the nearest dumpster asap. This restaurant seems a busy place, excellent location, with many customers coming in and out; the owner would be wise to invest in rehabing this place and do a good sanitary overhaul.

Pancho Villa has a fun ambiance. They are very kid-friendly (Tues night is family night and kids eat free). They have a nice lunch buffet. Tortilla chips and salsa complimentary. Lots of selection in the menu, even vegetarian fare. Good margaritas and mojitos. The best place for a birthday of course because they will sing to you and let you wear the giant sombrero! Favorite dish there is the garlic shrimp (camarones de ajo or something super garlicky- yum).

Went to this restaurant for Valentines Day. They had a nice setup to celebrate the day with balloons and menu specials. Never ate their before, but I will definitely be going back. Food is good and the waitstaff was very nice. Was also cool to have the waiter prepare fresh guacamole at the table in the awesome pig bowl !
